It's a large establishment with a great outside seating on the wraparound balcony and inside seating within the main dining room. Beautiful space. The waitress was personable and really loved the host. Just friendly people and makes the place special. The food is good. I don't think it's the best chicken cutlet I've ever had--the crust could have been more flavorful and take away the sauce. The fish fry was fantastic. Highly recommend it. Went here on a week night, made reservations so we got in right away. You have to come here on a summer night and sit outside. Our reservations were at 8:30 which was the perfect time. We got to see the sunset and the weather was perfect. The food was just okay, but we didn't really come here for the food as much as we did for the views. We got the shrimp tempura, the chicken Milanese, and the lobster roll. The shrimp tempura was good and it came with a yummy sauce. My husband enjoyed his lobster roll. Me and my Girlfriend went to the brunch and it did not disappoint. For only $25 dollars you can have an entree , coffee, tea or soda with a beignet. We have returned to the Terrace many times. Reserve seating on the Terrace itself for the most beautiful views, but the ambiance inside is wonderful too. Parking is tricky, but they run a golf cart to shuttle folks up to the building. If handicap accessibility is an issue, keep in mind it is a historical building with lots of stairs inside and out, but most of the stairs are to the event space on the lower level. If the African Peanut Soup is on the menu, I highly recommend it. The chicken waffles, and truffle fries are favorites too. read more

As a last minute group of seven, we decided to have lunch pre-wedding dress shopping last Saturday. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a welcoming gentleman at the hostess stand. Slowly but surely, we gathered together and were escorted to a great table with plenty of room for all of us. Our waitress extraordinaire was absolutely delightful! She knew when to stop and check on us and held great conversations. There was something for everyone and the prices were affordable. The only thing I'd change is that my waffle was a bit cold. Beware: no parking lot or street parking, especially on a day when the Albright Knox is busy. The good news is they have someone with a golf cart that will pick you up from where you parked and then drop you off. The view on the patio is what sells it- you can see the Albright Knox across the pond and the whole area is just beautiful. They also had live music which was very classy. People were generally dressed business casual with a couple of people in casual attire. The servers and host were friendly and accommodating. We got brunch meals- the brioche French toast (great flavor but thin and hard to cut, not exactly brioche-y) and the chicken and Brie sandwich (the grilled chicken was overcooked and rubbery, but there was at least half a wheel of Brie on it! The cider on tap was good and they gave me a mock tail version of their liberty lady which was delicious. Over all, was good but could have been better with some small changes. read more

My husband I checked out the Terrace on Friday during restaurant week. We walked in to live music on the piano which was a nice surprise. We sat quickly. They did have a limited (but large) menu during restaurant week. We selected the option that came with a bottle of wine, two appetizers and two entrees. For apps we got French onion soup (very good) and arancini (also very good). I ordered the shrimp and grits as my entree and my husband ordered the filet (which was a $15 up charge). Potatoes were tasty, could've used a few less onions but overall a solid dish. Chicken and red velvet waffles gave a generous portion with crisp waffles and a spicy kick to the chicken breast. Sometimes restaurants make a bigger portion to overshadow the low quality food but this was not the case, just the right size. And like nearly every restaurant they seemed a bit short staffed for Sunday brunch so took awhile to get the check but it was a nice day outside to wait. Recent wedding and the staff was amazing. Food was 7/10. Beautiful view and locations. However... NOT handicap accessible. Both elevators broken and not in use, if a handicap person could make it down the two dozen stairs once inside more stairs to access the bathroom. In addition the venue did not have enough chairs as promised and in a contract for outside wedding service. Parking is also non-existent for those who do not want to park on the street. There are three or four handicap parking spots, a couple hundred feet from the stairs mentioned above. I would rate this place a zero if I could. I am recently engaged and this was on my top 3 wedding venues. The place is entirely boarded up due to break-ins and they seem to have no urgency to fix. I made a reservation at 11am (as soon as they opened) on a Saturday prior to the Bridal Show in Buffalo which started at 11:30. We showed up 10 minutes early and were the only people in the entire place. They have indoor AND outdoor seating. The manager at the front desk asked my name for my reservation and said he could not find it. When I pulled it up the reservation on my phone I mistakenly made it for Sunday, instead of Saturday. 100% my fault and I owned it. Except, there was not a single person in there and we were in a RUSH to make it to the bridal show by 11:30. Truly, would have settled for a drink and cup of soup, cheese and crackers, or a salad. The manager was extremely insensitive and said "We are fully booked, which is great for me" and chuckled. We did not find this funny. We continued to tour the place on our own (as a top 3 wedding option) and nobody gave us the time of day. The staff were very unprofessional and acted as if we were a bother. By the time we (on our own) walked ourselves through (about 30 minutes) the place was still empty. We could have ate and left by now but continued to received dirty looks. If this is how you are treated as a guest for brunch, I cannot imagine how they would treat you on your special day. read more

My first time at The Terrace at Delaware Park, a warm and rainy Wednesday night, August 18. Beautifully situated near the Albright Knox Art Gallery. We arrived in late daylight in time to see the "floatmingos" on Hoyt Lake. Flamingo shaped paddle boats. We had an enjoyable drink at the bar, attended to by a pleasant and personable barman. Perhaps the best rum martini I ever had. And then on to dinner outside on the terrace. In all, the location, ambience, décor all delightful, the food plentiful and tasty, the evening warm and humid, the service exceptional, the company incomparable -- I really enjoyed this dining experience and hope to visit again someday. The Terrace at Delaware Park overlooking beautiful Hoyt Lake will give you such a Scenic Point of View that you're looking for. This was a nice end of the Summer treat for me, my Grandma Carol, Uncle Rick and our guests Ed & Mary Garrity. When we arrived it just so happens we stumbled upon a Wedding that was taking place in the Banquet Hall below us, while waiting for Ed & Mary to graciously arrive we mingled with some of the Wedding Guests and sat out on the Outdoor Patio enjoying the view of the Lake. Once Ed & Mary arrived, we can enjoy in each other's company, we started off with Water, I got myself a Watermelon & Jalapeno Margarita with Orange Brandy, Agave Lime and a Salted Rim. The drink was more savory than Sweet, the salt on the Rim enhanced the Taste, I was hoping for the Sweetness from the Watermelon to balance out the heat but it didn't, but I like that I picked out the chunk of Melon was soaked in Tequila (any Fruit would be good soaked in Alcohol). To help start off the Meal we split a few Appetizers, Rick got himself some Chargrilled Oysters with Garlic Butter, Grilled Brussel Sprouts on a family style Plate tossed with Fresh Dill and a Roasted Garlic Yogurt. Crispy Mini Cabbages enhanced with a this Creamy, Sweet and Nutty Yogurt sauce and the Dill brightens it up without it being too overpowering. Whenever I see a view of the Water, I think of Fresh Seafood and they had a Ceviche of Cod, Shrimp & Scallops. It was clean tasting mixed with Mint, Cilantro & Lime to highlight the Fish and some Red Onion for Texture, they also had some Wonton Chips on the side to act as a Crunchy Vessel. Before the main Courses came out, I got myself a Shooter, but this one had an Oyster in it. Quite a coincidence since Oysters have their own natural liquor in the Shell, it was at the bottom of the Glass. Filled with Tequila, Tomatillo Salsa, Lime & Hot Sauce, the moment I knocked it back, I got that Briny Flavor, heat from the Hot Sauce and sweetness from the Salsa, it was almost like a Bloody Mary. For our Entrees, Mary kept it simple with Chicken Milanese with Arugula & Fennel Salad, Parmesan & Balsamic Glaze, Rick & Grandma were on the same wavelength when they wanted to get their Hands dirty and order Fish Tacos packed with Beer Battered Cod, Coleslaw, Tomatillo Salsa & Lime, although while the Fish was crispy, they forgot to put the Jalapeno's on Top. Ed got himself one of their Best Fish dishes, Grilled Redfish over Dirty Rice (riddled with Andouille Sausage) with Grilled Asparagus and topped with Jumbo Lump Crab. This fish came out like it was on top of a Mountain with a Charred Sear that was loaded with Cajun Spice, the Andouille Sausage gave the dish a Surf n Turf feel to it. You also wanna talk more about Surf n Turf, my Entree was a Rockefeller Prime Rib Pork Chop over a Pernod & Parmesan Risotto with Bacon Lardons, Sauce Au Poivre, Sauteed Spinach and topped with Cornmeal Fried Oysters. This Grilled Jurassic sized chop, Crispy plump Oysters, Creamy Risotto with Hearty bits of Spinach throughout, the Lardons add another level of Crunchy Texture and the Sauce brought a Peppery Punch (since Au Poivre is French for Pepper Sauce). I'll be completely honest, none of the Desserts sounded interesting to me, so I wasn't gonna get my Sweet Finish that I usually do when I go out. Instead, I ordered another Cocktail the Brazilian Bird which came to me in a Small Chalice, Ruby Red with with a white Foamy surface and some Lemon Peel floating in the Drink. It consisted of Dark Rum, Cachaca, Campari, Pineapple, Lime & Simple Syrup. With every sip you take you get Sweet and Sour, also not sure what was Brazilian about it either but like a Bird it swooped down my Throat. Another 40 minutes of Sitting and Socializing, then we decided to take a walk by the Lake to work off our Meal. After walking half a mile, we decided to make way back to our Cars even one of the Restaurant Managers was kind enough to offer us a ride via his Golf Cart. That's good Hospitality, the Terrace is (in my opinion one of the Best Waterview Restaurants in Buffalo). Whether its for a Meal out, Gathering with Family Members or Friends, a Wedding, Graduation Party or even somewhere to visit after checking out the Buffalo History Museum. The Terrace could be your kind of Place. !!! read more

A friend and I came to hear the band that was playing but there was a mix-up with the reservation so we were not able to have dinner in the room where the band was. We decided to stay and have dinner anyway. The service was good and the food was excellent. I'm sure we will be back. Even though i followed the advice on the website (walk-ins encouraged) there were not tables available on the terrace and my companion and I ended up sitting at the bar. I think we lucked out because the bar was very charming. Lovely ambiance, good wine list, cocktails galore and a super menu. I wasn't feeling the fancy cocktail vibe so I ordered a simple chambord kir royale. It was perfect. The menu is small but strong. I chose shrimp and grits and it was terrific. The gravy was excellent, four large shrimp and a smattering of andouille sausage. The stone ground grits were a great accompaniment.
