What a blast! I know it's touristy but who cares because it WAS SO MUCH FUN! We got a seat right in front of the music ( granted we did arrive around noon) and drank pint after pint .The server came around frequently and you could also order with QR code from phone. Spectacularly fun with great entertainment. Based on other reviews and discussions about it being a tourist trap, I expected to hate it, but I didn't. In fact, we ended up going 3 times during our 8-day stay in Dublin. Yeah, it's a little more expensive than other pubs, but they have a system of service that is a well-oiled machine and entertainment at all hours. It was a great experience and since I'm an EarthCam app fan, I was able to talk with my daughters and they were able to see us enjoying ourselves for a few minutes. That was fun! It's a classic experience to visit the Temple Bar in Dublin. Although the menu didn't have labeled allergens they were able to accommodate well for a gluten free diet. We had drinks and a charcuterie board. Wish there was a board mixed of meats and cheese rather than have them separately. The Temple Bar was the first pub we went to the entire trip, which was our baseline for the cost of alcohol. As we hopped to other bars around Dublin, we became well aware that the Temple Bar was a tourist trap with their alcohol being nearly double the cost of local pubs. But hey, The Temple Bar was a must do/see, and we even went two nights in a row and had a blast both times. The Temple Bar was a multi-room pub. It had one big room for the live music, but smaller rooms branched from it. What's cool was that there was a small outdoor patio inside of the establishment itself. Because of the many rooms, there was no shortage of bars at The Temple Bar. I felt like whenever I turned a corner, there was a bar within reach. The Temple Bar was crowded on the nights we were there. I could understand Sunday being a vibe, but I was surprised by how lively the place was the following night on Monday. I was only able to buy whisky in the little extension next door to the Temple Bar. I just wanted to mention the gift size whisky, like the sample size Telling and The Temple Bar one that comes in a nice tin box is at cheaper at the airport duty free (no tax) so save your money if you plan to get the small ones go to the airport instead. I was charged at least 10 euro more for the Telling whiskey. read more

Check the price before you order and make sure you double check the receipt. We got double charged by the bartender. After we found out and tried to claim money back, the staffs were not cooperative. We had to wait for the exact bartender to come back to the bar to discuss this issue. After talking to him, he insist we got the wrong receipt, which is not true. We were told to show the credit card charge record as proof. We did and finally got the money back. No apologies were given. The manager who issued the refund did not even look at us. So cold. The Temple Bar is famous and honestly it is filled with folks all the time! There is always music and dancing and history everywhere. The try to make sure that service is fast but it wavers. I will say it was a decent pour of Guiness, but it was not as smooth as many other pours in the city and that's the only knock down. read more

The atmosphere is generally upbeat and electric, even during mid-day. Many pubs in the area and throughout Dublin have music, but you're sure to find live music here throughout the day, whereas others only at certain times or select days of the week. The negatives: both food and drinks are expensive compared to other bars (like tourist trap prices). It can get extremely crowded, and you may need to do a lap through the various rooms before you find an open seat/table. When live music is performed, the part of Temple Bar where the stage is located becomes packed with people standing shoulder to shoulder to view the performance, with many people having phones up to record it (as expected with any touristy place). Despite live music being performed throughout the day, it may not be Irish music as some performers did covers of mainstream songs. You won't be among locals, as this place is a tourist/visitor magnet (locals know prices here are inflated). Overall, The Temple Bar is worth a visit, but I'd just stop in for one drink to check out the vibe/music/atmosphere, as there are many other more traditional Irish pubs in the area with more reasonably priced food and drink. Yes, this is a tourist spot and yes, it's very crowded, but giving it 5 stars because it's such an iconic spot and the bar has a very cool atmosphere. Actually had a great drink menu with some unique options. It was a rainy day so I had a hot whiskey, which I had never tried before, and loved it. Definitely something I will try and make at home. A very cool spot and a large bar with multiple rooms and live music. Also, service was very good. My wife and I were sitting at a random wine/whiskey barrel "table" and a server came up out of the blue and took our order. Super fun and chill bar. Whether you're a backpacker in Europe or coming with an entourage everyone here is so friendly and looking to just have a good time all around. Drinks prices are so reasonable here and unlike the states staff isn't trying to price gouge you for tips which is so refreshing in this economy. Came here during October 2024 and they already had holiday decor! The vibe and atmosphere was amazing even on a weekday when I went on a Tuesday. There was live music. It was busy and crowded so it was hard to find seating. There is a QR code on the table where you can order food and drinks but the weird thing is that there aren't any table numbers for you to indicate which table for them to deliver to. This pub is extremely popular and touristy, but it's a must stop while in Dublin. We walked in on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed. There are several rooms to choose from, so we meandered our way through and a server noticed us and took us to an area with 2 chairs. He took our orders right away and was able to bring our pints super fast. It's impressive how they can keep track of 2 people in a massive bar filled with patrons. We landed in Dublin so early in the morning and started walking around, waiting to be able to check into our hotel. We were always told we should check out Temple Bar, so we walked down to see if they were open so we could grab lunch before heading back to the hotel. There is so much to look at inside the bar. They had sections that were "semi-outside," but if it rained, they were able to close the awning to keep everyone dry. I ordered these crab dip sandwiches, and coming from this Maryland girl, it was good but not like home. But I enjoyed it with my pint of Orchard Thieves. The snack ended up being half dozen oysters (€16.50) and a pint (€8). The prices were on the higher side since a pint usually runs about €5-€6 but you go to say you've gone or to listen to the music which they have basically all day, everyday. I imagine this place can be busy so I suggest going early, or late, to avoid the crowds. I was there at an off time, weekday early afternoon and sat at the bar. The service was attentive and I was helped and served quickly. As a solo diner, the music and its volume was not a problem but if you had a group it would be difficult to hear each other. With so many amazing pub options I would suggest venturing out, but if you need a quick pint and want to listen to some music (at any time of the day), this is a solid option. read more
