Our favorite pub in Dublin- first stop and last stop in the city. Has toasties but not sure if any other food but they have snugs, and some of the best in the city. It's a really small spot but service is fantastic and the Guinness tastes amazing. When it's too busy they seem to have some overflow to where people stand outside and drink, which was kind of nice. read more

Kehoes consistently came up on searches as one of the pubs to visit while in Dublin. We went to Kehoes twice, but our first visit wasn't successful. It was wall-to-wall packed on a Tuesday, which was absolutely mad. It was so crowded that we decided to ditch the place and go elsewhere. On our last night in Dublin, we checked out Kehoes again and was able to get a corner at the upstairs bar. Kehoes really lived up to its reputation. I had a blast drinking, chatting, and laughing away with friends. I could've sworn I heard someone playing guitar the night before, but I was told by the bartender that Kehoes is a talking bar and has been for years and years. That being said, you won't find live music there if that's what you're going for. Kehoes is as classic of a Irish pub as it gets. Don't miss it when you're in Dublin! read more

Beautiful pub that attracts more locals than tourists. Ultimately a nice blend and of the two. Bartenders are v quick and courteous. Plenty of tucked away spots inside if you're inclined to sit down. The crowd is much more heavily inclined to be poured about the front and into the streets. Plenty of friendly characters to mingle with. Certainly a high point for our pub experiences. read more

We stopped in on our walk back to our hotel and we're greeted by the lovliest staff and best Guinness I have had since I have gotten to Ireland and that is saying a lot bc I don't drink beer like ever!!! Went there for a pint, first time in Ireland. Asked if they could do a half and half, they allowed they could. When I asked for a combination of Irish ale and guiness they crapped all over me. If you decide to go here, make sure they'll approve of what you're going to ask for. It would have saved some time if they'd simply said "no" when I asked for my drink. On further review after speaking with my family, this place was fun for them. I'm not saying I have thin skin (I don't) but from our discussions I probably didn't get the full measure of the place. I wasn't at all fascinated by anything about the bar; in fact this is one of the most disappointing bars that I had been to in Dublin The drinks were overpriced and everything that I had asked for, they didn't have-so they just kept suggesting beer. Yes, there were a bunch of stools and some chairs outside, but when I sat outside with a glass of Prosecco and they gave me the cheapest Prosecco on the planet- I saw a sign that said number one rated bar in Dublin by publicans? How was that?! I couldn't think of why that bar was so special. Your choices were gin and tonic or beer on tap! it seemed to me, the only redeeming quality was the fact that they sold some champagne and $90 a bottle which is reasonable but my stomach was just not in the mood for it. I'd come from dinner down the street at Pierre Marco. It only had this one drink and all of a sudden my stomach was killing me the food was delicious but I think they're pretty Prosecco mixed with my food just made me feel unwell so I left the bar I guess this is where the snobby people hang out after work or something but I wasn't impressed at all The patrons reminded me of Londoners; they look like they came from England they didn't look Irish did it and speak like they were from Ireland and it was a massive letdown this particular bar. As a result of visiting Kehoe's (heaving with people on a Sunday night, if you must know) I have a new appreciation for the joy that is a properly poured pint of Guinness. Next time I'll snuggle up in one of the tiny, curtained off areas at the side (where I'm told they used to hide thirsty women and their drinks, when it wasn't appropriate for them to be all out in the open with such habits.) Visitors, take note: If you've come to Dublin for an authentically local experience, look no further than Kehoe's. This was the first pub we visited in Dublin because of all the hype around it having the best Guinness..and it surpassed expectations! In my opinion this is still the best Guinness I've ever had - even after trying the Guinness Storehouse and tons of Dublin pubs. It costs an even €5, which coming from NYC is actually very cheap for a Guinness, especially one that's so good! This is surely on the 'must-visit' list when in Dublin! read more

What a pub! there it is nestled off grafton street among all the fancy new shop fronts and pubs that felt the need to refurbish every corner of their establishment to justify their being off grafton. Kehoes is not like these guys at all, it looks just like it diid a hundred years ago ( i imagine!) all the furniture looks ancient, the upstairs still looks like a sitting room and a bathroom and maybe that other room is a bedroom. Downstairs my favourite place to sit is in the sbug, all behind glass adn wood with a wooden bench to sit on and a little hatch to talk to the barman through. god the place sounds awful doesnt it? well youll just have to see for yourself, its a great pub with a great atmosphere and it doesnt need modernisation to do it! read more

Kehoe's is one of Dublin's best pubs. With old school Irish pub décor it really is a place not to be missed. I would be shocked if you didn't have a great night here, particularly in the Summer. The norm is to pre drink here after work or before a club at the weekend but I've spent many a night outside drinking on the street in this old style traditional pub til the early hours. What's unique is that it caters to pretty much all ages and all kinds of people from all walks of life. You could easily go here on a night out with the girls, in a big group, or for a few pints with the lads. One thing though - it is ALWAYS busy. So if you're looking for a quiet drink then maybe this isn't the place for you. But if you're up for great craic, meeting new people and thriving in a great atmosphere, then definitely Kehoe's on you're to-do list. read more

I do love the "old man pub" in Dublin. I would pick it over any trendy joint every time. That being said, despite the fantastic atmosphere and pints that assure you there is a God, I often feel that an ould visit to Des Kelly's carpets wouldn't go a miss. I'm certain James Plunkett and the lads had their first pints on the very same carpet. I'm certain that it wasn't due to the amount of Guinness I had but the carpets are walking. By replacing them or even just hoovering them, it would take nothing away from its character and charm yet reduce the risk of for customers of contracting tuberculosis by touching them. All that being said...one of Dublin finer establishments and worth a visit. Just don't play the five seconds rule if ya drop anything on the floor read more

It's strange to think that just a few yards from the pedestrian hell of Grafton Street is this classic watering hole. And I mean watering hole in the National Geographic, David Attenborough-bothering sense. After work, people flock to Kehoes like hippos to an oasis. Kehoes has a mix of people and the atmosphere is really great. It's cosy and old-fashioned inside, and luckily they serve a great pint. This was by far my favorite pub in my all-too-short stay in Dublin, high praise in a city full of wonderful pubs! On a cold, drizzly Saturday night in January - Kehoe's was a warm, cozy, friendly, buzzing oasis serving the most delicious pint of Guinness outside of the Storehouse not too far away. This is the pub I traveled to Dublin for and these are the friendly staff and patrons I hoped to encounter. The interior is sooo warm and inviting - from the corner fireplaces to the cozy seating areas - this is a MUST if you are having drinks out with friends. It was pretty packed in January - cannot imagine how crazy it must be in the warmer months, but I hope to find out! read more

What an institution Kehoe's is. All the charm of a kitschy Irish pub and yet none of the camp, touristy atmosphere. Working locals bustle around its terrace every day after 5pm, and it genuinely doesn't get a whole lot better than this. Tiny place, great beers and cosy upstairs area. One word; institution. Kehoe's, put simply, is the business. An old school pub with a brilliantly mixed crowd. The groundfloor can be packed from as early as 4:30 in the afternoon but if you're smart about it there's always a seat to be found. Ideally this would be in the snug, which is private, roomy and only 3 feet from the bar at all times. But if that's occupied you can always go upstairs and listen to the drunks dribble out notes on the piano. Also, Sinnotts Pub (King St, right off of Grafton near St Stephen's Green) pours a great pint. I worked nights there in 2005---definitely the best pub to watch proper footie (soccer) and rugby matches (especially six nations!).
