The tasting room was a very nice surprise. My fiancé and I went originally for the bourbon wine tasting but quickly learned that this place has so much more to offer. It is a very cozy dim lit vibe. There are a few tables and chairs and seating at the bar top. The bartender was very helpful and sweet. The beer selection was so good. They had many options for ciders which isn't common among a place like this. I order the pear cider which was cold and they pour it in a cold glass which is nice. Second, I got the chocolate martini and OMG !!!! It was to die for! If you like chocolate martinis you HAVE TO get it from here. We enjoyed our time here. We had a BLAST in here for my Bach trip, we like to sit and chill and talk and it was perfect for that. Music wasn't too loud, drinks were freaking GOOD y'all. They know how to pour here. There was a miscommunication / issue with a bartender and when brought to our bartenders attention she made every move to redeem the situation. Very kind staff, our bartender was AMAZING. I won't speak for the bar itself, but if you are considering doing a distillery tour, I would re-consider. Especially if you are a woman. The tour guide singled me out specifically at the beginning by calling me "young lady" and seemed surprised I'd want to take a tour about bourbon. I was the only woman in a group of about 10 men, including my husband. He continued to call me "young lady" throughout the entire tour but all of the men were "sir" even though I was about the same age as all of them. Also, when we walked into the building no body seemed to know what was going on, no body told us where to go, or when our tour was set to begin, we just followed other people around hoping to find our way. The tour guide just seemed hyper-aggressive, rude, and misogynistic. Even my husband, who is a super outspoken and inquisitive person, felt so uncomfortable he never asked any questions or talked out loud. The real kicker, is when one of the other members of the tour made a joke about sleeping with high school girls, our tour guide stepped up and FIST BUMPED HIM. Another member made another joke about want to hook up with a 17 year old girl and our tour guide laughed and egged it on. He seemed to notice my husband and I were not laughing and he apologized to me and said they shouldn't be talking like that in front of a lady. All in all, it was terrible! The bourbon itself that we got to sample was actually very good, but I would never, ever support this company after such a horrible experience. My husband and I are avid bourbon drinkers and if we ever see the label Hochatown Distillery in any liquor store, we would rather have bottom shelf! read more

My husband and I came here after a date night out on the town and loved this little place. The vibe is totally what we were looking for - a place to get a drink and talk without having to yell at each other over loud music or an overcrowded bar. We really enjoyed our drinks too. I visited this place during a friends bday celebration. It was very mellow not a big crowd and had some fun games to play while drinking. There was catch phrase, bean bag toss & Jenga to name a few. We met some really cool locals while there. The patio was gorgeous and was had a really cool lighting and there was an outside bar, however that night it was not available. The bartender inside was great. She was really good at knowing her drinks and patience with us while we made up our minds. Great time! If I every visit again I will def come back. read more

The Tasting room is a full bar in Hochatown. The distillery won't be ready for a while longer, which is what most people come in expecting to taste from. However the margarita and the mules we were served were top notch. We had our drinks on the back patio which was very nice and had games such as corn hole and giant jenga available. The drinks are great here. My lemon drop was made with fresh lemons. My husband had a Manhattan and old fashioned, and they were both good. The cherry in his Manhattan was comparable to a luxardo cherry. We went on a Friday around 4:00 and they were extremely busy. Only 1 bartender was making drinks for the entire bar, so you had to wait at least 15 minutes to order a drink. She definitely needed more help. Check them out, but don't be in a rush. read more

Out of towners, we came in expecting a distillery tasting, only to be told the current batch won't be ready for two more years.
