It has been a year since we last ate here. This time we ordered by phone and picked up the delivery, easy and correct order. It was the flavor and oil instead of butter that really disappointed us. We ordered the tangy mix for our boil but it did not taste the same. Just oily and flavorless. Plus it seemed like we barely had any sausages. Tried this location for the first time Sunday for a belated Fathers Day meal . I would like to say that the crab bisque and the hush puppies were both excellent. I found the Cajun Boil that we split to be adequate though nothing special . Corn was very overcooked and the potatoes not quite done.. The seafood was okay and the sausage was very good. I felt that the money spent for this dinner for two was not a good value. My wife tried the shrimp basket along with the sweet potato waffle fries and thought her meal was a good deal and she also enjoyed the clam chowder ... The food was very good. This was the first time we had ever gone to the Tangy Crab, and we told the waitress this was our first time. She did not explain what our dining experience was going to be like. We were very surprised when the food arrived in a plastic bag and our utensils were plastic gloves. She looked bewildered when I asked for a couple of plates. She brought us paper plates. The shrimp were very good. Greeted by a friendly young man, and our waitress was fabulous. We were a party of four. We all ordered The Signature Seafood boil. Crab, shrimp, sausage, potato's and corn. We added noodles which I highly recommend. All of the seasoning and butter was perfect. Our meal was hot and delicious. The decor is quaint and the bathrooms were very clean. Keep up the good work. We got there at 5:00 and were told it was an hour wait. We were handed a pager and told it only worked in the parking lot and if we didn't respond by the fifth page we were out of luck. We headed east a couple blocks to the West Side Bar. Total dive. Sketchy customers. Bud Lights were $1.50. So perfect, basically. My wife had set her alarm for 40 minutes. We had two beers each and headed back. The pager exploded as soon as we hit the property. The traffic was ridiculous so the wife ran in while I parked. The place smelled fantastic. Our server was lovely if a bit distracted. We ordered rangoons (standard but sweeter) and hush puppies (). The only sauce was a sweet chili (). We got the basic level boil, added dungeness and black mussels. We chose the seasoned garlic butter and no heat. The food showed up in a reasonable amount of time. We disagreed on the dungeness being better than the snow crab, agreed the sausage was great, and thought the corn was a boiled waste and the potatoes just filler. The mussels were good but play better in pasta. The shrimp were shrimp. The sauce was the real star. Everything was better dredged in it. I was pleasantly surprised to ask for Tabasco and actually get it as opposed to the common faux pas of handing me Frank's. () They just got their liquor license so no alcohol was on hand. Our bill was about $77 after tip. We'd totally go again but agree we'd ditch the mussels, corn, and potatoes and double up on the sausage. read more

We started with hush puppies which were delicious with the pepper jelly sauce. For four of us we created a boil with 1/2 lb snow crab, 1 pound head off shrimp, 1/2 lb crawfish, 1/2 lb sausage, 4 corns and 8 potatoes. It was the perfect amount but I think next time we will just get sausage and shrimp do it isn't so much work. We had the Tangy special blend which was delicious. Definitely looking forward to traveling through the area again so we can stop here! Cost was very reasonable, dining area clean, bathrooms clean, and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Their liquor license had been recently approved, so alcohol wasn't available yet. Server wasn't overly attentive, but you can absolutely tell the restaurant is understaffed. We went for lunch today which was our first visit. Interior has been nicely redone and has a nice atmosphere. The service was decent, the menu offered a nice selection, the pricing was appropriate, and the food was good. They have a full bar but, we ordered no drinks so are unable to comment. The only negative was they didn't have iced tea which seems especially unusual considering the genre. The restaurant has great potential as it is the only thing like it in the county. I have to admit that I have never had a seafood boil, I don't like to get messy when I eat, and my kids aren't big fans of seafood. We ALL loved tangy crab and can't wait to go back again. Picked up carryout with a build your own combo. Snow crab was meaty and sweet, shrimp was cleaned (that's always a huge pet peeve of mine in boils) and the old bay sauce was fantastic. Will order again. They gave me everything I needed for home - gloves, napkins, etc. Did find it odd I got spaghetti and sweet chili sauce to dip? Cocktail would've made more sense, but none of the boil required extra flavor. Place was clean and organized. Only nit picky thing I noticed was staff was on their cell phones and it took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge me, but hey...it's tough out there right now, and if that's the only negative they are doing great. read more

Not at all spicy but a bit of a kick at the end. Our waiter was Lavelle and he was outstanding. Very helpful and friendly. We would ask for him again. Food was awesome! We each tried a different Boil and they were all fantastic. The shrimp were 3bites big and my husband s lobster tail in his boil was nice size and sweet. Mine came with mussels which were excellent.The smoked sausage in the dishes was really good. I took home enough for 2more meals. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Can't imagine what these meals would have cost at Red Lobster, maybe 60 to 70.00$ per person, although I have never seen really big shrimp at Red Lobster. Ambiance was nice. Upbeat, clean. Down side was the service. Never being there before we could have used some suggestions, and directions when the meal showed up in a big plastice bag. My second review of this establishment. The first was five stars. I've been several times since then, and the service has fallen off a cliff. Nearly empty restaurant, and every time there's a lengthy wait to even get approached by a server. I've had my order botched multiple times (order oyster po' boy, get oyster basket). Not a catastrophe, but if I order a sandwich, I should get a sandwich. Very long wait times for anything, always with plenty of staff standing around talking. Other reviews here say the same. What a shame, because the food is pretty good. I also notice that there's no management interaction on this page. Pretty telling about their concern. read more

We had the half dozen raw oysters and split the tangy feast with the garlic butter seasoning...it was amazing! Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavor was incredible.
