Wow, disappointing. Ordered the porridge, then long after paying for it informed they were out and instead of comping it had granola foisted on me, didn't even taste good to boot. Unprofessional. read more

Got to enjoy lunch and coffee here today. Loved the ambiance of the place. My sandwich was incredible as was my americano. The staff was very kind. I will definitely be going back next time I am in the area. read more

The Table - Yummm - Bakeries Near Me - Asheboro, North Carolina

It's like someone parachuted a french pastry cafe right into Asheboro. Everything is fresh, sophisticated and refined, from pastries to bread to lunch and breakfast specials. Also like someone parachuted the prices in from France, as well, though, as a sandwich, salad and coffee for lunch can easily get you up to $20. Still, it's pretty worth it for the quality and ambience. read more

Just when I thought asheboro had nothing good to offer I came across this place. I absolutely fell in love. The food was seriously amazing. The only place I would ever recommended to anyone to eat at in asheboro. read more

I enjoy this restaurant but my sister did not. I took her to to celebrate a sale for breakfast. She was expecting eggs and bacon. I thought it was great. I wanted to give her a unique experience, yet she thought it was not for her. I will be back though! read more

This place is amazing! Love coming here! Service great! Food great! They have tons of different sandwiches that are so great especially if you may be watching your weight or just looking for some really good fun! read more

I was so looking forward to my lunch today at Asheboro's newest restaurant, but I'm afraid I left disappointed. First the good: the store is beautiful, very well decorated and full of natural light. The staff is friendly and the line moves quickly thanks to the combined ordering/paying up front and then table delivery of the food. But then there's the food. It's not that it wasn't good, it's perfectly fine, very pretty food. But the flavors just aren't quite there. The pimiento cheese, a southern staple, is overwhelmingly sharp with no opposing taste to provide relief. The bacon, always in vogue, just adds another salty layer to an already salty sandwich. The marinated chicken sandwich was just ok, nothing special. The salad greens were nice, well balanced with vinaigrette, but a little flat in the flavor department. The fries were a beautiful golden brown and I was so disappointed when they turned out to be completely drenched in the false chemical flavor of truffle oil. Guys - there is nothing quite like a perfectly golden fried potato, no need to douse it with 2004's most overused condiment. For dessert, we tried the lemon tart and the chocolate raspberry brownie. It was 1 for 2, I'm afraid. The brownie was perfect: crisp on the outside, rich and moist on the inside, with just the right balance of fruit and chocolate. The lemon tart was mouth-puckering in its intensity. A little bit of lemon curd is delicious. A whole slice of tart with nothing but straight curd on a woefully underbaked and under seasoned crust is maddening - the potential is there, but it falls far short. The portions are large for the price, but when you don't like what you eat, it doesn't serve you well to have more of it. I still have high hopes for this new little hipster haven, and I hope their food will evolve as they grow. But I won't be back any time soon. read more

Great menu and location. Seating tight and makes it uncomfortable. Desserts are wonderful.

I love the coffee! Best in town! The food is terrific (haven't had anything I didn't like). I only give them 4 stars because of their hours.. No Sundays and the hours vary during the week. But my personal preference is 7 days a week with the same hours each day. Keeps it simple.. read more

We found this place on a trip down to Charleston. It will be a regular stop from now on! We loved the food and the atmosphere!

Wow this place was phenomenal. All fresh and tasteful. I would definitely come back if in the area..

Great fresh food. Service was awesome. Quick and professional staff. Cute decor. Definitely will be back.

Very nice! It was very difficult to choose my lunch as there were so many unique items to choose from! I will return anytime I come to asheboro! read more

Love the atmosphere, and of course the food is excellent. My go-to dish is the grits & greens - absolute favorite!

I usually meet my in-laws in Ashboro to hand off my son for grandparent time. Handoffs usually involve lunch and for the past few months, I was under the impression that Ashboro cuisine was essentially K&W cafeteria and some fast food joints. Luckily, I found this place! The Table is a cute, well designed café with super appealing baked goods and pretty substantial café menu. My table was very impressed and happy with the food although one person complained about that the coffee was too strong (he prefers his coffee to be barely brown water). I had the porridge, which was hearty and filled with fresh fruit. My son had the granola, which was piled with fresh fruit, creamy plain yogurt, and maple syrup. The other meals were a chicken salad with beets and the special, corn cakes with salsa and avocado. The corn cakes were nicely seasoned, pleasantly spicy, and pretty substantial. We even brought some bread home, a muesli loaf that we're digging into tonight. Will definitely be back, probably with our dog (outside seating). read more

A recent trip was much better! I understand now why they are so highly regarded in Asheboro. A great addition to restaurant scene.

We needed a place to stop for lunch on our way to Myrtle Beach, and boy did we find it! A delicious omelet, salad, and SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE WITH RASPBERRY FROSTING. Plus three more desserts to go! Wow! Now we just have to time it right to stop for dinner on our way home! read more

Delicious and a great quick stop from the highway! We had the most amazing cinnamon bun. yum!!

This was the most wonderful experience at a café I've had in a long time. The staff was without question the most hospitable and generous. They took time to explain the drinks and the bakery. Justin and Vicki I without a question for job. And the drinks were incredible. I tried a latte without any alterations just for the sheer goodness of the ingredients and was overwhelmed at the taste. The baked goods were decadent and Rich. And highly recommend you travel here experience this beautiful Cafe. read more

What a great find! On our way home from the mountains and we decided to eat in Asheboro. Found this place on yelp. Great food, terrific prices and wonderful people. Would definitely come again read more

We had not been in Asheboro in about 15 years and were amazed how much the area has changed. We came across The Table and were in absolutely awe! A place like that is right up our alley! Victoria was at the register and she was incredibly friendly and helpful. She was there with Noah is a totally cool guy who extolled the virtues of the fabulous coffee that Table offers. We don't typically drink coffee but Noah spoke so highly about it that we gave it a shot, and he was right! Oh, yeah, that was great coffee! The place is an absolute treasure to get drinks, desserts, and all the food looks delicious. We are looking forward to returning again and again. read more

We go there a few times a month to pick up a variety of "sweets" for the house. Always beautiful and delicious. The inside of this bakery is gorgeous and meticulously clean. Very inviting and warm, gracious service. The shortbread is a must have, they are prepackaged "to go" and delicious with coffee in the morning. Would love to see them experiment with more unusual and savory dessert pairings (adding things like basil and lavender and tomato and such to their sweet offerings). They could definitely pull it off and I think they would be a big hit with their clientele. Regardless, we will be back again and again to satisfy our sweet tooth!! read more

We were headed to Myrtle Beach and found this restaurant. What an awesome find! Fantastic food! I had the omelet with fried potatoes. Very fresh! The Cheese Danish is to die for! The decorations are very stylish with both inside and outside seating. Very reasonably priced! Will be back! read more

The food is good, but way overpriced, especially for Asheboro. No vegetarian options on the lunch menu. The surly girl behind register rolled her eyes at me when I questioned why my small mocha and soda came to over $8. I'll keep going there because it's about the best trashboro has to offer, but I could do without the snark. Sorry, I've lived in bigger cities where coffee drinks were cheaper and the service was friendlier. read more

Among the best, moderately to high-moderate priced, perfectly prepared dinners we ever had. I had the nightly special quiche and my wife had a grilled chicken salad. Both were prepared with care by a chef, not a short order cook. Freshness was outstanding. Our service was timely but there were only about 7 or 8 tables in use; I would be concerned about the speed of service during busy times. We both enjoyed deserts that were the best ever - they are so rich, consider splitting rather than buying two! If I had to find something to be negative about, the menu is limited to one page and therefore if you are picky eater, you might not find something you like. read more

Oh my...fresh, delicious and healthy options galore. We happened to be visiting family in Randleman and they treated us to lunch at The Table. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients and made from scratch. Homemade everything including breads, dressings and deserts. The perfectly appointed farmhouse decor is welcoming and provides comfort for relaxed conversation. We loved everything about this placed. read more

Every time we eat at The Table the food is amazing! Got the smoked brisket sandwich today....wow!!!

I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu was a big disappointment for a vegetarian who gets tired of eating salads when there are no other options. The corn crab chowder was good and the raspberry bread pudding. The truffle fries were horrible, I think mine were over cooked. read more

Very impressed. We really liked the decor, and the staff we extremely friendly. We made it just before the lunch rush, which I would recommend, as there was a line the entire time we were there. Also, save room for something from the pastry case! For lunch we split the Grits & Greens, which was wonderful, and the BLT Avocado smash with a side of truffle fries. Yum! Next time I would order the BLT toasted. My only complaint was the hot food could have been served a lot hotter. We can't wait to go back. read more

Hands down, this is the best restaurant I have been to in Asheboro. My sandwich was amazing, and the sweet pea pasta was quite scrumptious. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the desserts look incredible (I passed on them during my visit). I look forward to my next visit. read more

Doesn't get any better than this. Great lunch spot. My friend and I wanted to do some antiquing and when lunch came around we just happened upon this place. What a great find. I had the cuban sandwich and she had the Simply something samich and both were absolutely delicious. Both breads used were incredibly fresh. Wish we had taken some home. I highly recommend this cute, upscale bakery farmhouse! read more

I'm a fan of the restaurant, I've been a patron there since its opening. The Table is something unique in Asheboro, a modicum of culture in an otherwise culturally-devoid town. The atmosphere is lovely, a "modernized", Southern style, and the food is exceptional in taste and diversity. Pricing is comparable to other "bistro-esque" restaurants and is quite reasonable. I'm unsure of what ignorance "Ginger H." was discussing in her review as soup and sandwiches are never $10 or $12 at The Table. I've reasoned the "discounts" are the restaurant's offhanded way of ringing up regular pricing for items not programmed into their register. Had she simply asked a cashier, I'm sure she would have been told as much. My only quaff is the choice of staff within the restaurant. They either need to provide better training and management or fire the inept. All in all, this establishment is a wonderful, and recommendable, choice for dining. read more

I stopped in today and ordered the Cubano Sandwich, which I didn't realize would come with fries, and a cup of their Roasted Tomato Basil Bisque. I had always wanted to try a Cuban sandwich but never had a good opportunity - their version was very tasty. The french fries were tasty too and appeared to be fresh cut potatoes. The bisque was thick and flavorful and came with a slice of buttered bread that was very good. I'll definitely go back - the pastries looked divine, I'm going to have to sample some of those, too, and wouldn't mind sampling some of their coffees and teas! The prices may seem a bit high for Asheboro, but the food quality was definitely much higher than the typical standard for Asheboro, so I didn't mind paying more to get more myself. If I can get Greensboro quality food in Asheboro without having to drive to Greensboro, then I'm all for that. read more

I really debated between 3 and 4 stars for this place. I took my daughter to a birthday party in Asheboro and had a couple of hours to kill so I decided to check out The Table. Adorable shop and a really well done restoration of the historic building. The place was very busy on Saturday morning at 10:30am. It was a really pleasant place to spend an hour. So why 3 instead of 4? Four stars - The decor, the building, the location (across the street from where the farmer's market is held), and the effort and guts to have this place in Asheboro, which is otherwise a wasteland of chains and strip malls. Three stars - The food. I had an omelet with bacon and a latte, and my son had a chocolate chip cookie and a hot chocolate. The cookie was huge (a bit too big actually), had a slightly grainy texture, and was overly sweet. He enjoyed it but didn't finish it all and it didn't tempt me enough to finish it for him. He liked his hot chocolate a lot. I had a sip and it was good. My omelet was the big disappointment. I expected so much more from this place but perhaps the mistake was mine and they are really truly a bakery with brunch as an afterthought. The omelet was poorly filled, and sat in a pool of oil on my plate. My bacon was nicely cooked and not greasy. There was some bread on the plate but it was cold - it would have been so much nicer toasted or at least warmed up a touch. My latte was fine - Counter Culture brew, which is not my favorite as I find it a bit bitter but that's purely a personal issue. Three stars - Attention to a few key details. First, to the right of the counter there is a retail corner with what might have been some really cute things - but it was also the corner where staff left the kitchen to deliver food and the side of the shop where customers line up to order so it was crowded and I avoided trying to go over there due to the awkwardness of the space. Second, there's a bit of a disconnect on service. The cookie was given to us at the register, then we found a place to sit. Several moments later we were called up to the counter to get our drinks, then food was delivered by staff, and finally we were supposed to clear our own table. Third, it's a counter service place which should mean it's first come, first served but there was a table marked reserved in the middle of the room. A seat yourself, first come location should not reserve tables. This reserved table sat empty the entire time I was there. So, three stars. That said - it's by FAR the best option in Asheboro that I've found and if I'm on that side of the world again, I would give them another try. read more

gret food and people

I love The Table! I've been here twice and it's been excellent both times. The food is great and the pastries are fav. I will be eating here again read more

They have the best coffee around ( honey and cinnamon is favorite). All the food I have tried has been excellent. Baked good are always good when they are in stocks( they sell out quickly). Lunch time is very crowded and sometimes you have to wait... But it is well worth it. I would love to see them expand to somewhere bigger and have a separate coffee bar. read more
