What a fun experience! I had always wanted to learn to make sushi and was so excited when I found out this class was coming to a venue near me. I ended up purchasing 2 tickets as a mother's day gift for my mom, for her and I to do together. Her work schedule ended up conflicting with the date of the class, but fortunately the class was being offered again just a couple of weeks later so I emailed them to ask if I could switch to the other date, and the customer service was top notch. Sara got back to me immediately and helped me without any issues, accommodating me for the alternate date. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they made it for me. The class itself was lots of fun! The venue was beautiful and the other locations on their list seemed to be fun spots as well, so it seems they hold their classes at great places. Chef J was excellent - informative, while keeping things light and entertaining. Everyone seemed to be laughing and having a good time. They let you add on additional rolls other than the initial California roll they teach you. So we added some extras on and made a total of 3 rolls each..they were all very good! We had a great time, learned something, enjoyed some delicious food, and I'd definitely do this class again and recommend it to others.

Our Sushi Class experience took place at Aquila's Nest Vineyards. We had such a fun time. Chef Sara was great! We learned a lot and ate good sushi. Definitely perfect for a date night. Totally worth it!

Oh yeah, salmon for me and tuna for him.

You don't have to be a cook to make some delicious sushi rolls in The Sushi Class!!! Chef Sara is fabulous and walks you through exactly what to do, twice, before you attempt to make your own rolls! Even if you don't master it on your first attempt and ingredients ooze out of the end (like mine) the ingredients are still fresh and the dinner you make yourself with be delicious! I had a blast at the class and Chef Sara was entertaining, helpful and personable! Something that also adds to this amazing experience is that it's byob!!! So maybe the wine played a part in my skipping a step or two, but I woudn't have it any other way! I swear I'll do better next time! If you haven't taken this class yet, go to the website and signup! It fills up and there are limited spots available but it's a great night out, whether for date night or with a group of friends! It's also entertaining to see how creative some others in class get! The space is clean and everything is setup when you arrive for class, including aprons so you don't wear any sticky rice home. I also forgot, this is also a woman owned business, in case you were wondering.

AMAZING TIME HIGHLY recommended... Definitely will use for a fun event... Jay was amazing and super personable....

This class was really fun! Jay was a great teacher and was funny. We actually did make great sushi! I would love to do the class again with a bunch of my friends.

Sarah provided a fun and interactive class for our private birthday party. The kids and adults enjoyed the class very much. They were having so much fun and didn't want the class to end. It was a good bonding time with my family and memories were made.

I had a great time learning how to make sushi. The instructor made sure everyone was having a great time and went around helping people when needed. Would recommend!!

Chef Sara is absolutely awesome! She is super welcoming and she is so knowledgeable and has really taken the time to study Japanese culture and has designed the space to reflect that. The space is minimalistic and clean. She took some time to tell us her story. We had a small group and she was able to instruct as we went so she could take a look at our work as we went and help if needed and I did need help a few times. We each made two rolls. Everything she uses is fresh. It was fun and interesting. This class is perfect for a date or an outing with friends. Check it out with the sushi lovers in your life! 10/10 experience!

My boyfriend and I went to Maki Night and it was a BLAST! Chef Sara is super welcoming, fun to hang out with, and great at demonstrating her craft. We had a small group, so Chef Sara took about 20 minutes at the beginning to tell us her story and show us how to make the rolls. Once we started making them, she was readily available to answer our questions and lend a helping hand. It's BYOB, but she also has soda and water available for purchase. Chef Sara provided so many ingredients that we both left with at least 1.5 rolls leftover and were able to take home some spicy mayo (SO good) and extra sauces. It was a truly wonderful experience that exceeded our expectations. We hope to go back with our extended family in the New Year!

I never thought I liked sushi, until I spent an evening at The Sushi Class! Housed on the first floor of a commercial office building, I walked in to the sound of traditional Japanese music playing (very peaceful) and a room that I would later learn was designed based on a typical Japanese house (minimalistic with little decor). Chef Sara began with a brief discussion of the history of sushi, and then got right into teaching us how to make Maki rolls, which I now know are the ones with rice on the outside. We were given the ingredients to make both California and vegetarian rolls, with additional ingredients (like salmon, shrimp, etc.) available for purchase. While I initially had little hope for my sushi rolling skills, Chef Sara explained the process step-by-step, and ensured that everyone in the class was successful in making restaurant-quality rolls (and, to my surprise, my rolls not only looked good, but were also delicious). She is clearly passionate about her business and the art of sushi making! I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun night out or a chance to learn a new skill!

I absolutely loved the "Roll your own sushi class". Chef Sara made the class fun and relaxing. She was very professional and dedicated to making sure that every guest enjoyed the experience. Sara was exceptional when it came to presenting and explaining how to make your own rolls. Her expertise, patience and guidance are to be highly admired. She is truly a superb instructor, she makes the whole experience so much fun. I always look forward to seeing her new posts on Instagram and Facebook @Maki.night Be sure to sign up for a sushi class or book your private event with Chef Sara. Oh, I completely forgot to mention it is a BYOB event.

We went for their first October seating, and this month's menu has such cozy fall dishes. The cod and filet were cooked perfectly! The courses are on the smaller side, but it works out well so you can comfortably enjoy each of the six courses, plus bread. We had a front row seat to the open kitchen, and you could see how much care chef Danielle and her team put in to every dish. The timing of the courses flowed perfectly, and having it be capped at 40 people with a prix fixe menu made for a smooth experience. The servers were attentive and made sure we always had enough water and that empty plates were cleared. Perfect for a unique date night or girls night out!

We chose to sit at the kitchen bar to be close to all the action. They started us off with bread service which was cranberry bread with orange butter, and mind you gluten free but you couldn't even tell! The amuse bouche was pimento cheese bread with pork belly lardons and almonds. So tasty. Next we had honey nut squash with whipped cheese and sage. So good. The cheese was out of this world. Next we had Chorizo crusted sea bass in an herb oil cream sauce. This was my favorite dish of the evening. I honestly wanted to lick the cream sauce out of the empty dish. Next was a curry chicken which was so tasty and then our final savory dish Pomegranate braised beef with coconut rice which was my second favorite. The flavors were spot on and there was this interesting popping texture to the dish. Our final course dessert, Brown butter miso cookie cake with chai gelato was delivered by chef Danielle herself who also took the time to check in on our experience. The whole experience was phenomenal and I recommend for any foodies. This place is catching on quickly so be sure to secure a reservation as they fill up so fast!

The show is still in development, it may not be Broadway quality atm but it is very entertaining and I imagine if you can enjoy yourself with family and friends there is no excuse to say anyone had a "bad time" at this event. I am a fine dining server of 15 years, I have worked under Michelin Star earning chefs and was a food writer in New Haven for a number of years. The quality of the food is very good. My whole party left very satiated and full. Everything was delicious. It is sad to see there is such vitriol in these reviews, TBH when reading some of them I was getting nervous that my parents might be let down. But, when we were there, I began feeling sorry for the people who left such negative reviews, as they seemed to not be able to enjoy themselves in such an easily enjoyable atmosphere. I began imagining their holiday gatherings as quite glum boring experiences themselves, these poor unfortunate souls probably got coal for Xmas every year of their youth!!! I mourned for their lack of childhood happiness.‍ This was a very fun experience for our whole family. Starting out, a fresh green salad with strawberries, walnuts, and raspberry vinaigrette. They were also very accommodating to anybody who may have had allergies to nuts, gluten, etc. Next she showed us how to prepare and make spring rolls from scratch! Followed by delicious salmon bruschetta. The main entree was pasta primavera with chicken francaise which she actually asked for a few volunteers to demonstrate the process, showing it was easy enough for anybody to make.
