Gorgeous ball gowns, mermaid & long formal dresses, all decked out in premium fabrics, crystals, pearls, you name it! First Lady also sells jewelry & evening bags, & they offer alterations. Such a convenience. They have been in business a long time so they know these dress designers. Some designers they sell - Tiffany (house of Wu), Mignon, Tony Bowls, & many others. I have purchased three dresses from here and will keep coming back! I definitely recommend this boutique for any lady with fancy dress needs!

I said I would like to make an appointment. I arrived at the agreed upon time and was asked by the saleslady what I was looking for. I showed her the colors for the wedding I am attending. She asks what my budget was, I told her "it's is whatever I like". She showed me a few dresses but I asked if I could look around. She asked what style I liked and I said "understated and elegant". She said "this is not that kind of store". I didn't really like any of the dresses so I decided to leave. On my way out she said she had another room I could look in. In that side room I saw 1 black and white dress that I liked and she showed me 2 other black dresses. I tried the 1st dress on. As she was zipping me up, I said I didn't care for it and was going to try on the other dress. I went in the room to undress and she said twice " open the door" because she saw me looking at the black and white dress. I said twice "wait a minute please" so she hung it outside my dressing room to try next. I tried on the 2nd dress but didn't like it. I told her that she didn't have to zip me up because I didn't like it and I wanted to try on the black and white dress. She said to me rudely "you don't like nothing; how can you tell if you like it if you don't want to zip it up!" I said, "I can tell without zipping it up if I like it or not and I want to try on the Black and white dress". She then took the B/W dress that was hanging outside my dressing room and hung it back up with the other dresses for sale. I told her "As a sales person you shouldn't make me feel bad". I left and won't be coming back!

When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and treated very well. The sales associate was knowledgeable, passionate, and very helpful. My daughter found a dress she loved, but she wanted to sleep on the decision before committing. While speaking with the owner and the sales associate, they were very encouraging and suggested I leave a deposit to hold the dress. Unfortunately, leaving that deposit turned out to be the worst decision. I left a $150 deposit thinking my daughter would most likely want that dress, or at the very least another dress from that shop. However, when she woke up the next day, she realized she didn't want that dress anymore. Three days later we went back to the shop to let them know. That's when I was informed that if we didn't keep the original dress, we would lose the $150 deposit completely. We couldn't apply it toward another dress, a purse, earrings, alterations, or anything else in the store. It was simply forfeited. I understand that holding a dress may prevent other potential buyers from purchasing it, and I understand that businesses need policies to protect themselves. However, I did not appreciate how strongly we were encouraged to leave the deposit, knowing how often teens change their minds. I feel like I was led into losing $150. This is simply a warning to other parents: do not leave a deposit unless you are absolutely certain about the dress, because if you change your mind, you will lose it.

At Bridal Expos and online, you usually get bombarded with the chain Menswear places to do your business with for your wedding day (like I did). The styles at these places were bland and I wanted something different. I stumbled upon Sam Michael's and from my first visit (of probably 5 or 6 in total), I was hooked! Walking in here for the first time, I didn't know what to expected. I explained that I was getting married, and 8 groomsmen and 2 parents that needed suits. I was sat down and shown all of my different rental options, which included suits, tuxes, pants, ties, shoes and other accessories. So many decisions, but I was granted the ability to stay there and think carefully, but also explained to that I can change it as many times as I want up to a month or so before the wedding date. Attached are some pictures of the suit I picked for myself and my groomsmen. It was a brand new suit in their inventory that they personally owned, as well as the color choice for my accents (pocket square and tie). Michael and team were very professional through the entire process. We had multiple texts and phone calls back and forth during my moving of our wedding date as well as when my accent color was discontinued. After the wedding was all said and done, I was granted a $500 shopping spree on a suit set of my choice. That was really exciting and I got a nice blue, checkered patterned suit. Initially the suit was advertised to me as "slightly more expensive" but better quality and service than competitors. After we allocated our wedding finances after we got married, at Sam Michael's, I actually spent LESS than what I budgeted and LESS than a competitor I was initially going to go with. Totally worth it here! Thank you Mike and team for everything! I felt like family every time I walked in. No errors or resizing for any of us during our pick ups.

I was in need of a suit for a funeral and was referred to The Suit Depot. When I walked in the only thing I could think of was how huge their selection is. They have sizes ranging from a toddler through big and tall. I was greeted by Ron who asked a few questions and then guided me to the area I needed to be in. He explained a few things to me and told me to try some suit jackets on and he would be back to check on me. He popped in a few times to see if I needed any help and then walked away. He was very knowledgeable and experienced, but he was not pushy or demanding at all. Once I picked out the suit we went to the fitting rooms and I met with the on-site tailor Roman. Like Ron, he was experienced and very helpful. I needed some alterations so Roman was going to take care of everything and have it ready in a few days. Ron helped coordinate a couple of different dress shirts and ties as well as some other accessories. All in all I give the store and their staff two thumbs up and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a suit for any occasion. I recommended 2 family members to him already and they were very pleased with their experience also. read more

I really can't recommend Solomon and The Suit Depot enough! I needed a wedding tux last minute, and they truly got me taken care of. I was originally planning to go with Suit Supply in Texas--but the fit and style just weren't quite right (oversized lapels, etc.) and the higher price point just threw me off. I'd always heard people in Detroit talk about The Suit Depot when it came to suits and formalwear, so when I got back to Michigan from Texas, I decided to give it a shot. Solomon (the custom suit guy) really took great care of me. He got me measured quickly and nailed a custom tux that matched exactly what I was looking for--even with my tough-to-fit build. The quality and fit were on point, and the price was better than what I would've paid at Suit Supply for their off-the-shelf stuff. I'm planning to bring my groomsmen in closer to the wedding and will definitely be back for future events. If you're in Detroit and need a sharp suit or custom formalwear done right, The Suit Depot is definitely the move. read more

After purchasing a double-breasted suit from the Suit Depot, I took it to The Broadway in Detroit to be tailored. HUGE MISTAKE! The Broadway was a waste of time and money! (We will discuss that later) I returned to The Suit Depot with a brand new destroyed suit for my son's prom but they knew exactly what needed to be done to rectify the situation. Everyone was in shock at the damage done to the suit but gave suggestions and worked diligently to calm my rage and assist in making my son's prom amazing. They could've said, we're not touching that suit behind someone else and forced me to buy a new suit but they didn't. They helped! They were kind and thoughtful! Every time I go to The Suit Depot, it feels the same and that's a comfort. As a mom, buying a suit feels like going to a mechanic alone , it's scary. I went in with my hubby already knowing what I wanted for him and they were great about not trying to upsell us on anything. We ended up getting him this gorgeous cashmere sportcoat made with real Zegna fabric. Honestly I was totally shocked by that kind of quality in a store with Depot in the name right here in Oak Park MI. We snagged it for an amazing price and the guy even threw in a pocket square for free so we'll definitely be saving our menswear shopping for the next time we're back in Michigan for a conference. Speaking of pocket squares their selection was huge especially for Detroit. I've only seen East Coast stores carry anything close to what they had here. The shoes were fine but nothing compared to how many suits and sportcoats they had. The socks were fun too. Today was my first time in The Suit Depot. Very nice men's store! They have something for every budget. They have a nice selection of dress shoes, from the affordable Stacy Adams and Florsheim to the more pricey Mezlan and Sutor Mantellassi. I seen a very nice pair of dark brown sude Sutor Mantellassi that I must go back and get. They had lots of dress shirts, ties and bow ties. Amazing customer service! My husband was part of a wedding party and they got their suits at The Suit Depot. He wasn't on top of things and didn't pick up his suit from their tailor in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Yes, they did reach out. My husband is just that guy. They were then closed for a week in April but Matt reached out with his personal cell and said he could let us in if we could make it out there that weekend. It was like she knew my measurements by just looking at me. The only issue I had was that I didn't allow myself enough time. They are friendly, detailed, and most importantly very knowledgable about their craft. The initial appointment is a hour long to get all of your measurements precisely done. Then on to fabric selection and all the options down to button type. There is a wide array of styles and quality of fabric to choose from. I just got back from the second fitting and the suit and shirt feel amazing and look great. Getting quality custom made clothing involves quality material and customer service, which is exactly what you'll find here. I can't wait to transition my closet to bespoke clothes. I will be returning here for many years to come.

Went to pick it up yesterday (8/19) and letters were not all repaired and jacket was not cleaned and charged me $45. If work was more than could be done, shouldn't I have received a phone call or some communication prior to me picking it up? The customer before me had an issue as well. Seems like they promise you the moon and only deliver a rock. Do not recommend!

Our experience with this custom men's clothing shop was extremely disappointing. We ordered a…read morecustom suit 3 months in advance and made 10 or more trips to the store for fittings, expecting that the extra time and attention would result in a properly made suit. Unfortunately, the original suite was altered so many times that it looked worse each time we returned. Despite all the fittings and alterations, the suit had to be scrapped, and they ran out of time to make another one. They even lost a pair of pants we needed altered too!!!! What was even more troubling was that the owner ultimately tried to give us clothing from the back room and a NON custom suit while still charging us for a custom made suit. That was completely unacceptable and not what we paid for. The customer service was equally disappointing. We did not see or hear from the original salesman after the first visit. On one visit, while we were there dealing with ongoing problem with the suit, the owner helped someone else, who simply walked in and left us waiting for 45 minutes, we found this extremely rude and disrespectful, especially considering how much time and money my entire family had already invested. A custom clothing experience should involve professionalism and respect for all customers. Unfortunately , we expereinced none of those. We gave this business more than enough time and opportunities to make things right and instead the experience was extremely frustrating right before our daughter's wedding. We would NOT recommend this business!!!!! The service and workmanship should be substantially better!!!!!!

He was extraordinary in how he helped each of us, especially in making sure we all had a proper fit to our tuxedos, and in fact he remembered all of our first names as we came in to pick up our suits.
