STAY AWAY!
Had a water pump and timing belt replaced here. He also cleaned the inter-cooler for my turbo.
After a couple of weeks, I was returning from a camping trip and the engine fell out of my car. I found a bolt laying in my engine compartment that he had neglected to put back in. I had my car towed to his shop, expecting that he would fix it with no questions asked. After it was all said and done I had to pay him an additional $200.00 to get the engine back in the car and to repair some damage that was done when it fell out! It was difficult for me to negotiate with him since he had me over a barrel. His rationale for making me pay was that he found it hard to believe that I didn't notice any strange vibrations or anything before the engine fell out of the car. I didn't. Also there was no sense of urgency to get my car back to me, so I had to borrow a friend's car for 3 weeks.
About a week after getting my car back for the second time, I was returning from a trip to Seattle when my low oil pressure light blinked on. I was very close to home, so I decided to risk driving the extra mile rather than pay for a tow truck. Just as I was arriving at my house, the oil light came on and stayed on. I got out of my car to see oil basically gushing out of my engine onto the ground. The next day I rolled my car down the hill to a local garage where I was able to put it up onto a lift to investigate the problem.
When the engine fell out of the car, it damaged the plastic brush plate that is between my engine and the road. When the suby man "fixed" the brush guard, he used self-tapping steel screws, one of which he drove 1/3 of the way into my aluminum oil pan. The screw worked its way out during my trip to Seattle.
The engine falling out of my car could have killed my wife and I. Luckily we weren't driving fast when it happened. The oil leak could have cost me my car, or at the very least ruined a very important trip.
Since this has happened I have spoken to several people who have had or have heard of similar experiences with this guy. read more
