I was able to get the spare on, but apparently the gentleman that assisted me at the site I came from put it on wrong!!!!! The older gentleman at Ortigoza educated me & even said I would've been better off putting it on myself lol. Him, and I presume his sons, were able to get the spare off, located a piece of metal in my tire, removed it, patched it up, and put my original tire back on!! The price was very reasonable, as well. Allegedly they adjusted it again. After that it was still pulling to the right. Even rotated the tires between their checks as requested. Finally today took it to Les Schwab and they gave us a print out showing it was off and showing it was corrected. Driving nice now. Will not be going back to Buntings.

About 10 miles from Hood River my "smart" vehicle started beeping loudly, flashing a message to pull over and get assistance because tire pressure was low. While I've had messages like this before if the tire pressure goes 2 points low, it has never beeped and flashed non stop for 30 minutes! It was alarming. After calling the service department for my vehicle, and being told I wasn't in imminent danger, I continued to Hood River to find a gas station with an air pump. After two failed attempts to locate, we saw Les Schwab and I knew instantly they would help. We entered the office, everyone was wearing masks, they were enforcing social distancing and all state guidelines. The receptionist told me to pull my car up and said one of the workers would be over to check my tires and adjust the pressure. Within minutes, Mario appeared, checked the door panel for appropriate pressure, and filled all four tires. Took less than a minute and we were back on the road, annoying beeping sound gone, and we felt safer knowing our tires were at the appropriate pressure levels. No charge for the air! They provided this service even though they were busy, just to help us out. Thank you, Les Schwab and Mario!

He's honest, reliable, and an awfully nice guy. He's really good about presenting alternatives when it comes to replacing parts and clearly explaining the pros and cons of getting one part versus another. I tend to believe that sometimes spending a little bit more can save you money in the long run, but it's nice that Andy gives you clear options. I now hear from lots of people how happy they are with his service. It's a family business--one son works with him, and his wife handles the business end of things.

They also check problems and questions you may have for free. One of the employees even rode with me to figure out what the problem was with my car. Sorry previous reviewer, Expertec demonstrates neither integrity or honesty…read more As a woman bringing a car to a mechanic, I expect to get a little bit of run around, that's why I am upfront about my problem(s) and my expectations. I am new to town and looking for a mechanic; this is not them. My first problem with them started when the manager tried to hint strongly that my vehicle may have an issue unrelated to what I brought the car in for (that I happen to know is quite expensive in man-hours and I know is common to my make/model--instantly shady), that my car currently had no symptoms for. Expertec then decided to further take advantage of me by clearly ignoring my straightforward repair request and performing an unnecessary additional 2 hour diagnostic on my vehicle, charging me the full hourly price for merely hooking my car up to a code-reader. I have the $45 scanner at home: I am capable of doing an internet search and being familiar with an engine. It was entirely unnecessary for them to need 2 hours of diagnostic work (doing what? It doesn't take two hours to run codes!)--especially without informing me prior--to determine the same problem I came in asking to have fixed. They also did not have common parts in stock and needed to keep my car overnight for the undemanding repair ($20 engine thermostat). When they called with the "prognosis" of my initial problem, they informed me they hadn't even looked at my second request (an issue with the electronics module in the door). Had I let them continue with my vehicle, they wouldn't have identified my second issue until the following day--where they (again) wouldn't have had the part in stock and would need to keep my vehicle yet a third day. Expertec, you come off shady, unprofessional, and willing to take advantage of the well-intentioned. This is not how you do business in a small town. I've since learned they have this reputation in town. Recommendation: Stay away!
