They're crazy-busy but when my Dad's truck started having a low speed 'catch' in the steering they fit it in *that day* to make sure it couldn't grow into an at-speed 'stuck'. I am so pleased to review Taylor Automotive! I rented a car at Portland airport - drove to Hood River. Upon arrival, I noticed the under panel of my car had fallen down and was dragging. There is no way I could have driven back to the Portland airport (50 miles). I googled "Automotive near me" and several came up. Taylor opened at 7:30 so I drove over and just waited in the lot on Monday morning. At 7:25 Richard arrived and was incredibly positive and reassured me that he could help me out. My RV quit running after a dinner stop on the way up to Mt. Hood Meadows. Initially thought it was the battery and then the alternator... After exploring options, we determined that we were stuck for the night and most likely getting towed back to PDX. Then I sent Taylor Automotive a Facebook message explaining my situation & to my surprise I not only heard back that night, but that I would have help in the morning! After a short tow ride to the shop, Richard did some quick diagnostics and determined that the issue was not the alternator, but a cracked battery terminal connection. Then voila, it worked! They are a great and affordable automotive shop. They have always been responsive, honest, and done great work on my vehicles. For small issues they have even fixed me up in the parking lot free of charge before my next visit. They made a point to address the issue that day. They went above and beyond with customer service. Our AC Compressor went out on the way through Hood River, and we managed to find our way to Taylor Automotive. Unfortunately they told us right away that because it was exceedingly busy they wouldn't be able to service our vehicle. They said they were happy to recommend somewhere. During the conversation one of their employees offered to come out and diagnose the issue so he could get us helped out somewhere else sooner. When my car didn't start, they provided a quick jump, diagnosed the problem, and called several places around town looking for the part that we needed to fix the problem. They were not only quick, professional, and polite, they went above and beyond just to help make sure we didn't end up stranded for the day. Well after they could have handed me off to AAA, and gone back to work. We probably would have been in Hood River for at least another night if not more, if it weren't for the awesome folks at Taylor's Automotive, who went out of their way to help. It may not be cost effective for me to drive back to Hood River and have all my future automotive work done with Taylor Automotive, but after this experience it sure is tempting! I found Taylor Automotive by asking as many locals for recommendations as possible, and the name kept coming up. I brought in a car with a hard-to-diagnose clanking sound. They not only found the problem, but refused to charge for the additional labor when the first fix only partly eliminated the noise. After everything, the noise was totally gone. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate Richard and the team. I was stranded in hood river onto way to Boise with a truck that seemed to have fuel / air problems (with horse and horse trailer in tow) on a Sunday. I showed up at his place Monday morning after his competition around the corner sent me away very rudely (you'll see that review for that company too). I came to him expecting to be told that he didn't have time. But no, he did some diagnostics and although the problem wasn't simple, we were on the road after lunch. He test drove it and even gave me his cell to call him if we have more problems. The next morning he called me to make sure we made it home safely.
