I was told that Marek was currently booking about six months out, into March 2027, and was asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment then. I was then refunded and told, "To be very clear, Dira wants to and loves doing precision cuts. She is one of the best. We're sorry you were not a fit." I appreciated the refund, but was disappointed that the haircut itself was not addressed and that my concern was characterized as simply not being "a fit."

She gave me a fine haircut and while we were chatting I asked about getting a shave and she said that she would. So about a week later, my hair was fine, but I didn't have time to shave before work. The Isabel Salon was along the way so I stopped in. Lupe did a fine job of making me look more civilized. The shave went without a hitch. The blade she used was a fresh one. Lupe put a new blade in the handle right in front of me. So there was no worry about catching something nasty from the previous customer. This was the first time I have ever asked for a shave.
