I had my first appointment with Grace. She is very friendly and helpful, and was able to fit me in the day after my consultation. We discussed what I wanted to do. I have wavy hair, and that is her specialty. I was a little nervous because I had neglected my hair for so long. This was a completely new look. I love it, and so does everyone who sees it. I tend to give everyone a 2nd change because we're all human and we all make mistakes. When a woman gives specific details along with pictures of the look she's trying to exceed it should be more then enough for the stylist to accomplish the customers satisfaction ESPECIALLY when we pay for a more experienced stylist. If and when a customer comes in for any services, the stylist should be entering in their system, as much information as possible as to what was last used on the customer so they can go back and use it for reference which they don't do that! Well well well, needless to say, I was in this Salon for over 6 hrs!!! (RIDICULOUS) The stylist got it all wrong and she had to Redo everything. The girl who was washing my hair did not even put a towel around my neck and I had water dripping all over my ears and down my back because she was not being cautious nor paying attention to the customer needs! So, not only was I in this salon for over 6 hrs being aggravated, stressed out and having to pay over $300 is a big and huge lesson learned for me. I felt so uncomfortable because all other stylist kept looking at me as to why I was still there for so long. When I checked out the receptionist made a comment and asked me... Wow, you've been here since early morning. Was everything OK? I explain to her what my issues and concerns were and she stated that she would have one of the managers call me back. Well, this salon has three different managers that own this business and not one of them had the decency to call me back! When you have three owners to a business you would think that at least one of them will stay till close just in case there's any complaints or concerns that guests would like to dispute with one of the managers. they all rush out as they always do. So how concerned are they for the customers that are bringing in business ? They just don't care because if they did, someone would've give me a call back! I will definitely call my lawyer and have him report this business to the Better Business Bureau!!! read more

I desperately needed a cut and color fast in the area so called my sister and she recommended this Salon along with three stylists- Ryan, Rebecca, and Molly. I was able to snag a 12:30pm slot with Ryan Reynolds! Yes awesome! Consult was straight to the point... "what do you want?" I said I wanted 2 inches off and refresh the color of my hair to cover the greys. And Ryan Reynolds delivered! My hair was restored to life and I looked normal haha. The shampoo massage was fantastic and put me to sleep. However, I don't know if I was just short or what not but I couldn't get my head far enough into the bowl? Anyway overall had a great experience. Would definitely recommend Versed Salon. Just remember to bring cash for tip!! I repeat. Bring cash for tip. Luckily I had some cash on me. read more

First time here. Will not return. Can't understand the good reviews for this place. Made an appointment for my daughter. Arrived on time and the stylist was busy for another 45 minutes. Why take appointments if you're not capable of organizing/scheduling time? The receptionist quickly scrambled to find an available stylist to give the haircut. I spoke to the stylist about the desired cut, length looking for, and routine styling habits to hopefully give a clear picture of what a daily outcome might appear as after the cut. My daughter went back with the stylist for the cut. At that time the receptionist was fast to point out how the stylist cutting my daughter hair was more expensive than the stylist I had originally booked but he was so nice to be honoring the price. Really? Why wouldn't the salon honor the price for an appointment they missed! My daughter appeared about 20 minutes later and at a few INCHES SHORTER than requested. The stylist then proceeded to tell me y daughters hair was below shoulder length as requested as if I couldn't see her hair above her shoulders right in front of me. Unbelievable! read more

Ryan has been very patient with my "mood" swings and has managed to keep my hair from falling out! I've been very fortunate to have found a job that allows me to do whatever I want to my hair, however that means it's probably going to change with every appointment. I write this with complete transparency: this is owned by my family. That being said, I will still write a review! :) I've never been picky about haircuts. I have straight, boring hair that pretty much air dries and it's fine. I've gone to your typical "$12 cut" places and higher-end salons. I pretty much had accepted the fact that my super-straight hair never had any chance of being "bouncy" or full, no matter what kind of cut I had. Then my family opened this salon. Naturally, I wanted to come out and see if these stylists could do something with my boring hair (and of course, support the business). Matt, an amazing stylist at Versed, truly has given me the best haircut I've ever had, on multiple occasions. It's been wonderful to blow dry my hair and actually see it stay full throughout the day! He is so easy to talk with, and we have such nice conversations while he works his magic. I live in Chicago, and the salon has a "city vibe" without city prices. It looks like an urban loft inside, very industrial and CLEAN...spotless in fact. The products smell amazing. You leave here truly feeling like you had an upscale "hair experience." I will never get my hair cut by anyone else. That being said, keep in mind that I live an hour away. I could easily find a salon in Chicago and get my hair cut and save myself the time and gas money it takes me to get out to Versed. However, the effort it takes to get out there is worth it when I see my hair bouncing and full of volume that it's never known before in 20+ years! If you go to Versed, you won't be disappointed! That's not just coming from a family member, but it's coming from a customer. I am truly impressed by the quality. read more

I went here for cool blonde highlights and a cut. I was told the stylist I would see was "an expert on blondes." I told her that I hate, hate, hate yellow blonde on me. Under no circumstances was it to be yellow at all. Also, I expressed to the stylist that I do not like very much product in my hair. I left the salon $250 dollars later with yellow like Big Bird hair chock-full of product. I had to tone it to cool myself. I was pretty bummed I spent so much money and did not get what I do clearly asked for. Lots of other people love it here, but for my blonde, I give it a thumbs down. Versed Salon is seriously the best in the area. You walk in and it's comfortable and cool and you have no doubt that your head is in good hands here. I see Matt (who will follow to the ends of the earth) because he works miracles with my hair. He's really knowledgeable about hair, and he works with you to find the best cut for you. I followed Matt from his previous salon because he is that good! I basically sit in the chair and tell him to work his magic. He listens to what's going on in my life at the moment and caters my hairstyle perfectly. He's so great to talk to and always teaches me how to replicate the hair I leave with. The salon itself is spacious and beautiful. Super professional with polite staff -- I walked in with sweats and was treated like a VIP nonetheless. The receptionist immediately scheduled me with Matt, called him the "curl guru." Matt was fantastic!! Right off the bat he was friendly and warm. He sat down and really wanted to know about my hair, what I wanted and my past salon experiences. I got my hair highlighted and a cut. My color turned out fabulous and exactly what I wanted. $170 vs $253 SAME SERVICES 2 daughters We have been going here for a few years. Let me start by saying that this salon is very nice. Well laid out, well appointed. Clean. Our regular stylist left but we like the salon and used her recommendation to try Molly. Molly does a very good job of cut and color. I want to be upfront about that. My problem is their pricing: Daughter 1 went a couple of months ago and had a cut, balyayage and a toner applied. Daughter 2 had the EXACT same services, done last week, but was told to pay $83 more! So of course I called to ask why and was told that because Daughter 2 had thicker hair, and took longer, the cost was more. (both girls had the same length hair when they went for their services) I cannot fathom $83 extra for product and time. The extra time was spent sitting in another chair so that the stylist could continue to work on other customers. I would have been fine with an additional $20 or even $40. But an additional $83 for the very same 3 services. I had a very polite conversation with Molly, and was told that we should have told her that we had a budget. I assumed that if they were getting the exact same thing, the cost would be close, if not the same. FWIW: In the end no credit was given and no apology for not being upfront on the extra cost either. All three of us were regulars there. We are no longer customers. read more

Gorgeous atmosphere and staff. Superbly clean they offered me coffee water numerous times. Everyone was super pleasant and friendly. They gave me my first haircut for free so I will be back again this is just one reason why they will be celebrating their 2nd year anniversary this May 25th 2015 congratulations to the owner and their staff.
