From the receptionist to the stylist these folks were wonderful! I took my teenage son in to tame his wild hair and Molly worked a miracle! I love the style and most importantly he does too! Great place and would recommend it to anyone! read more

Love this salon. I'm not good at scheduling my appts n advance and typically spontaneous. I've never had a bad stylist when scheduling last minute. Met Matt today for the first time....phenomenal stylist! He did such a good job at tips and tricks on styling. I love my cut! He did a fantastic job! He knew what I was asking for and delivered more than I expected! All stylist are good at this salon....but if you get Matt you won't be disappointed! read more

I stopped in here today to get my blonde hair dyed a darker color as well as a hair cut. My stylist was Matt, and he was amazing! He talked me through the whole process and every suggestion he gave me was really helpful! It is definitely not what you would expect to find in Plainfield and it could easily be a successful salon in the city. Top notch stylists, decor, and style. Make sure to bring cash or a check as you can only tip your stylist like that. You can pay on credit but can't tip. Make sure to give this place a try read more

If there were 6 stars - Versed would get that rating. Ryan Reynolds is a hair artist. New to the area, I checked out Yelp- Believe every 5 star rating here. Coming from Southern California, I was not sure what to expect in a Chicago Burb. Versed blew my expectations out of the water! Ryan's creative coloring technique gave me a look I've longed for. The upbeat fresh style that I received helps me feel 10 years younger. (not that I'm really too old, but looking 40ish is not such a bad thing). Kacey pampered me with the best shampoo, hot towel and massage. Book early, as I can just imagine these stylists are in high demand! read more

From beginning to end, my experience with Versed was great. I initially called a different salon who did not impress me over the phone. I called Versed next and I'm glad I did! Rebecca cut, colored and styled my hair. She was amazing and I will definitely be back. The salon has a hip and trendy vibe. It's clean and you can tell the employees work together as a team. read more

Matt Frankovich, stylist with purple flair- Did you step out of a European salon just to make me feel like I'm walking a runway? I thought I would never find another stylist who "gets" curly crazy "are you sure you're a white girl?" hair... I found you AND you're close to my house! I loyally followed my amazing Zazu stylist all the way to Hinsdale, even in rush hour traffic, for over a year... but a girl with roots has to practice timely maintenance, so I started looking closer to home. Mario Tricocci - okay, but I would see four separate people before walking out (How many people do I tip?) Robert Graham- great listeners, but not conversational and WHOA on the upsells! Then I looked up Versed Salon on Yelp and okay, good photos, good reviews. Fast forward, i'm walking out all smiles because the cut and style that Matt and Kristen gave to my daughter and me were perfect, efficient, and gorgeous! Everyone was down to earth and welcoming. Finally, I can't overstate the technique that Matt used; not even in Hinsdale can I get a blowout with a brush set and all of these amazing curls! I booked a color appointment before I left - See Ya in a couple of weeks and for as long as you're willing to tame my tresses :) read more

I've been trying to find a good salon for ten years now and I think I've finally succeeded. Went here last night for a haircut, thanks to all the stellar Yelp reviews. Kristen was AMAZING. She listened to me, was very patient and worked until we got the cut I liked. On top of that, when I explained that I hate taking time to do my hair and usually just throw it in a ponytail she offered to show me some quick and easy ways to style my hair. Made an appointment with her again before I walked out the door. I highly recommend Versed. read more

I just LOVE this Salon, and my Stylist, Dana! She gets the color, cut and blow dry right EVERY time! She really is an Artist! Years ago I had a string of bad hair salon experiences, thankfully, thanks to Dana, those days are over! The products they use are amazing! You're greeted with friendly smiles, you're given a very relaxing head massage during your shampoo wash, and you're never made to feel like anyone is hurrying along. I've also have had my eyebrows waxed and reshaped by Loren, who is really good at making you look beautiful, too! I look SO forward to every visit at Versed, it truly is such a treat! You will NOT be disappointed! read more

This place could absolutely not get any better. My sis and I had our hair and makeup done for a wedding. It was incredible. The hair stylists were incredible and super fast. My sister has never ever in her 40 years on this earth liked her hair when it was done in an up-do, but this was the first time she was 100% happy with the look! And their makeup artist is phenomenal, and she wants you to communicate with her and let her know what you like or don't like. She does airbrush makeup and it's amazing! They even send you thank-you cards in the mail. I live in California, and they still sent me a card. If it's raining, they'll walk you to the car with an umbrella over your head. And they are nice, and very down-to-earth. This salon really is as good as it gets. read more

Molly cut my hair and did a really great job. I have really thick coarse hair and I was worried my layers would be uneven but it came out perfect. I went from medium length hair to a bob and she layered and thinned my hair so it all blended nicely. My husband even said it was the first haircut I've had that didn't look uneven. I'm definitely going back. It's a very kid friendly place which is important. The staff is very nice and I didn't feel intimidated or pressured into buying things I didn't need. Also the price is great. I'm from Chicago and I've paid around $200 for cut and all over dye. Pricing is really good especially compared to Chicago salons who don't do nearly as good work. read more

Currently looking at flights from Denver to Chicago to get my hair done. That's how good they are. I miss Versed!!

Nick cut my hair today and it looks great! He was very nice and professional and made sure I was comfortable during my visit. Not only does the salon look very chic and upscale, it is free of clutter and looks organized. One thing I thought was unique was the paper I filled out that had a spot where I could list any skin allergies. I appreciated that because I do have sensitive skin. Bring cash for a tip and make sure you have an appointment ahead of time since they get booked up quickly. read more

Matt did an awesome job blending my hair. I had several colors going and he managed to blend everything and made it look amazing!! Thank you!! He was such a sweetie too. Loved meeting new people there and everyone was super nice. I could not be happier:) read more

Have been going here for years. All the stylists and staff are WONDERFUL! Would recommend this salon.

I've had long hair for the past 5-6 years and I was ready for a change but of course was very nervous. Nick is amazing and exceeded my expectations and now I look fabulous! He really cares about what you are going for and takes your suggestions into consideration. I had no idea what I wanted to do overall and he some how did exactly what I wanted with my crappy guidance. He is a truly talented individual! read more

Moved and was looking for a new salon. This place was amazing way above my expectations. I actually felt pampered like I was royalty. The staff were extremely friendly and not fake, at the same time extremely professional. My shampoo person was an absolute delight and I feel bad for forgetting her name because she was simply amazing. Rebecca is a great stylist who convinced me with the current length of my hair that a particular cut wouldn't work until my hair grew out. She convinced me to try an alternate cut and I now actually prefer the cut she suggested to the original idea I had. Simply amazing to have someone who treats hair like art (as they should) and is able to shape the cut to compliment my head shape. I would have never asked for this cut but it looks amazing. As a bonus they carry Kevin Murphy products which are cruelty-free products that so far I really like. I will definitely be going back and I look forward to them taking great care of me again. read more

Ryan, Lauren, and the whole crew are professionals at the top of their games, and on top of that, truly good people. Recommend them wholeheartedly! read more

If I can give more than 5 stars, I would. Versed salon is always accommodating and provides the best service in a hair salon that I have ever received. I can't pick one favorite stylist, because they truly are all amazing. They never disappoint. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Where to begin? The girls are so sweet (especially my stylist, Dana), all of the stylists are very experienced, the salon is clean and modern, the products all smell great and aren't laden with chemicals (many are plant-based), and the prices are super reasonable! The last place I went in Naperville charged me double what I paid here and didn't even get the color right. Being new to the area, I will definitely be coming back and making this "my salon". read more

A very warm and friendly place. Great stylists. I always feel good about the entire experience. Don't miss out! read more

Amazing! A friend recommended me to this salon and said to request Matt, he is phenomenal! I was able to book an appointment right away. This was my first time chopping off my hair and I was extremely nervous but Matt did the most amazing job on my hair, he styled it, shampooed it and put in products my hair needed, i am obsessed with my hair! Will definitely come again! read more

BEST hair salon around. Not just for the color and cut, but the exceptional customer service. They are more than willing to hold product for you until your appointment and you're always greeted with a smile! Both Dana and Renee have cut/colored me and they are so attentive and masters at their skill. The scalp and hand massages aren't so bad either. The owner always remembers you by name and is just so sweet. They carry the absolute BEST line of hair products, Kevin Murphy and even have samples in case you want to try first without the full commitment. I cannot say enough great things!!! Do yourself a favor and make an appt! (Plus freedom brothers pizza is right next door!!) read more

This place is great, it feels very high end without the high prices. Nicely decorated, great location, very stylish and experienced staff. I highly recommed Darby ! read more

First time at this salon. Matt F. was my stylist and I highly recommend him. He not only did a great job with my hair color, but he also super nice!! In fact everyone I encountered in the salon seemed very nice and accommodating immediately offering me coffee tea or water. Matt was very service oriented and made me feel comfortable with choices made offering good perspective along with some tips on hair care to get the most out of my color. I will be back!! Heads up, stylist gratuities are cash only, so make sure you bring some. I never carry cash and ended up running out to an atm right away bringing back his gratuity. The salon seemed unfazzled by it but I felt bad I didnt think to bring cash. Not a big deal but I will be sure to bring along next time. Highly recommend this salon and Matt read more

I have to preface my review by saying that I have never liked going to salons. I'm the person that gets my hair cut only once a year because I end up disappointed with the outcome (the service, the artist, the atmosphere, etc.) every time. I have been to a lot of different salons in the area trying to find one that doesn't end with a blah feeling. With that in mind, I have nothing but good things to say about Versed. The salon is beautiful with a great atmosphere. The ladies at the front desk are extremely pleasant and helpful. More than anything, I cannot say enough good things about artist Renee Edgcomb. She walked me through everything she was doing, including what products were used, and tips & tricks for styling. This is the very first time an artist has taken the time to explain to me exactly how to manage the cut and color I have (which is completely necessary because I am 0% a hair person, and I can barely figure out how to brush my hair, let alone brush and blow dry at the same time to make a style work). Hands down, I have never felt as comfortable or been as impressed with a salon or hair artist before. I finally feel like going to the salon is a treat, instead of a chore. Thank you, Renee & Versed staff. read more

I called and made an appointment informing the receptionist that I was looking to go bleach blonde and when asked what I currently had I described it as a balayage and so the appointment was all good and set. Upon arrival it was good and clear they were following safe COVID protocols and then when I sat down with my stylist she enthusiastically asked what we were doing today. When I expressed that I wanted to go bleach blonde, her mood immediately changed. She said "that's not what I have you down for today, I have you down for a balayage and so you will need to either do that or come back another day" which was said in a very dismissive tone. I unfortunately was caught in a situation where I wasn't being treated as I think a customer should who ended up paying $300 for a service. As it unfortunately turned out, I did agree to get the balayage done and I truly was happy with the way it looked in the front but after going to a different salon only a couple weeks after to go blonder since I didn't want to go back to versed given the poor service, they expressed how the full balayage that i was told was done was actually only a partial and so not only did I not even get what I really wanted but I also overpaid for a service I didn't even end up getting. read more

Went for the first time seen all the reviews just had to check it out. Got hair trimmed with long layers, it is beautiful. I have not been to a good salon for a long time, very knowledgeable staff and helpful. Will be going again to get color! read more

Absolutely the best salon in the area!!! So chic inside but yet so comfortable and inviting!!! The stylists are AMAZING. Im so picky with my hair and seem to have bad luck! This salon is the best!!! Matt was simply awesome, welcoming and funny....he does great cuts!! Will always go back to this salon. Its my forever salon. Side note: Stay away from salon giovanni!! Also, remember to bring cash for tips cant add to credit card. And please remember to tip the shampoo girls. They're great and proper etiquette to tip them as well!! read more

I called for an appointment with Matt based on the reviews here, but the receptionist said Darbie was good with the type of hair I described, so I saw Darbie. The salon is beautiful, clean, and everyone was friendly and helpful- thus the three stars. Darbie was upbeat but didn't seem to care whether or not I liked my hair. I mentioned that I didn't like a certain product that she continued using, however the worst part was the cut. I walked out with a very dated mediocre cut resembling Jennifer Aniston's early Friends days. I'm older so perhaps Darbie didn't feel the need to please. I liked the salon and might consider trying Matt if there is a next time. For now, I have to find someone to fix the cut Darbie gave me. read more

I came to get my hair styled .. I asked for a blow out with curls.. They just washed my hair didn't even style it with the round brush like how I had expected and just used a curling iron .. And curled my hair.. The hair wasn't even properly curled and whatever was curled ..the curls came out within 15 mins of leaving the salon .. I paid for hair that didn't even look like I got anything done to... Never will I return to them again and won't suggest this salon to anyone! read more

I had been going to Versed Salon to see Darbie for over a year. I was extremely pleased with their services until my last visit. Darbie was running about 15 minutes late, which was fine, I wasn't in a big hurry. 15 minutes beyond my scheduled time, I was brought back for a wash. After my wash Darbie cut my hair in record time and then proceeded to have the girl who washes hair (who I love btw) style my hair while she moved on to her next client. Keep in mind, I was kept waiting for 15 minutes - she never moved on to me from her previous client. Ari did a great job styling my hair - truthfully, she did a better job that Darbie normally does. I was quite disappointed that I was not given the same respected treatment that other clients receive, However, the worst part of this whole thing was that 2 days later, when I washed my hair, I realized it was horribly cut ! I had several areas that were 2 inches longer than others! And somehow Darbie had put longer bangs in when I specifically asked for no bangs! I would have gone back to have it redone, but it was a Sunday and they are closed Sunday and Monday and I was having a baby on Tuesday. I had to cut my hair myself, as best as I could. I am extremely disappointed that I paid $50 for a haircut that was so poorly executed and I was not treated like a valued customer. It's definitely time for me to find a new salon. read more

Love this salon. Matt does my hair, but everyone is super nice. Always greet you the minute you walk in. The salon is super clean too.

This was an outstanding experience from the second the person picked up the phone when I called to schedule an appointment! They were personal, warm, friendly. Kristin did a fantastic job taking time to consult with me and to make sure she understood exactly what I was looking for. This was my first balayage color and I gave her full artistic trust - my hair is fabulous!! I just love it. She did a great job talking me through and explaining every step. And what a great hand written thank you note I received afterwards. I'm a organizational consultant and work with ceos to create and sustain excellent customer experience.
