I typically don't leave 1-star reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience…read more I had an appointment scheduled at 6:15 PM with Colette for a single-process color. When I booked the appointment through the online portal and selected her as the colorist, the estimated cost was listed at approximately $120. I understand that pricing can vary, but I do expect some level of transparency and consistency when booking services. When I arrived, Colette initially complimented my current hair (brown with highlights), but then questioned my decision to go back to a single dark brown color. Rather than feeling guided or supported, I felt uncertain and somewhat discouraged about my choice--even though I knew exactly what I wanted. A more reassuring and collaborative approach would have made a big difference. Shortly after, I was informed that the service would cost $160, which was significantly higher than the quoted estimate I received when booking. This was not clearly explained beforehand, which added to my frustration. During the application process, I felt the service was rushed and lacked attention to detail. The color was slapped onto my head --within about 15-20 minutes--and it felt careless at times, as I ended up with color on my sweatshirt and hands. The overall experience came across as unprofessional, and it gave me the impression that the service was being hurried, possibly due to the time of day. Afterward, I was taken to the shampoo station. While the assistant was kind, the experience felt minimal--there was no conditioner massage or the level of care I've typically received during similar services. Once I was seated at the dryer, my hair was still quite wet, which I didn't mind. However, Colette briefly came by, said it looked good, handed me her business card, and quickly left. Overall, I paid $160 for a service that felt rushed, inattentive, and not worth the cost. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling disappointed, as though my money was not well spent.

The facial was probably the best one that I've ever had. The room is charming, calming, and cool. Well appointed for my needs, even a cute shell jewelry box to store my rings during my facial. The products for the facial smelled great and did a great job of gently cleaning and plumping my skin. The best part was Renee's massage and ability to work my skin in a way that made me look younger and fresher when we were done. At the end of my hour, I felt really relaxed, pampered and rejuvenated. I can't wait for my next appointment with Renee and a Marek Ashley facial.

Renee has always been incredible, but the experience at Marek Ashley is on an entirely different level. The space is beautiful, elevated, and luxurious, making every appointment feel like a true escape. Renee is fabulous -- knowledgeable, calming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about skincare. She customizes every facial to exactly what your skin needs while creating such a relaxing and personalized experience. Combined with the elevated atmosphere at Marek Ashley, it feels more like a luxury spa retreat than just a facial appointment. If you loved Renee before, you'll love her even more here. Highly recommend.

Extremely Disappointed Unprofessional Experience with Both Stylists…read more I had a very disappointing experience with both stylists at this salon Angelina and Sherry. I came in with clear, detailed written instructions and photo references. Unfortunately, Angelina cut my bangs far too short and uneven, added disconnected layers, and ignored the style I specifically requested. When I returned for a correction with Sherry, the experience was equally upsetting. She was dismissive, blamed my hair texture instead of acknowledging the poor haircut, During the correction visit, Sherry repeatedly insisted the issue wasn't the haircut itself, but rather the texture of my hair. She went as far as to say that if my hair were different or "Asian" the cut would have worked better. I was being blamed for how my hair naturally grows. She also excused Angelina's mistakes by saying she's new and was probably too shy to tell you and defended the first stylist by saying she was new and "everyone makes mistakes" but not at the cost of someone's hair. She wasn't open to feedback and refused to take accountability. I found these comments dismissive and unprofessional instead of taking responsibility for the poor haircut She also used water with a strong, unpleasant, almost moldy smell that irritated my scalp and left my hair with a terrible odor I was genuinely concerned about hygiene and possible fungal contamination.. Worst of all, she physically grabbed my hand when I asked her to give me space which I found completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I called the salon three times to speak with a manager but was never able to reach one yet . The brushes were clearly unclean, and during the second visit, Sherry didn't place a cape on me while cutting my clothes have hair on it. What makes this experience even more painful is that I've been dealing with serious health issues that caused significant hair loss. I had been patiently waiting for my hair to grow back for a long time and now it's completely ruined. The bangs are so short and disconnected that I'll have to wait many more months just to grow them out and repair the damage. On top of that, I'll need to spend even more money trying to re-style and fix this. I originally came to this salon hoping for a bit of joy and change. Instead, I left feeling worse with damaged hair, stress, and disappointment. I won't be returning, and I strongly urge others to be extremely cautious I also uploaded a photo of the result and another of the style I originally asked for the difference is shocking.

I highly recommend Frank Gironda. Maria, my stylist for several years, is expert at everything I've…read moreseen her for: Color, highlighting, and cuts.
