If you're looking for a independent small business that sells quality power products, stands…read morebehind them, listens to their customers and delivers a level of service quality that was , frankly expected in the past .... but so rarely delivered today visit Seacoast Power Equipment. And here are a few reasons why: " In mid may I purchased a commercial grade Stihl FS 250 Weed Whacker. They directed me to this higher horsepower trimmer in order to efficiently maintain a new 4 acre property. The "weed whacking" job needed to be done the same day so they expedited the purchase process and provided a hands on " How to Use Demo " in the parking lot. Off I went and around 6 PM I ran into some equipment difficulties regarding the trim line spooling properly. I went both to Stihl's hard copy manual and corporate website to try & fix the machine. I strongly believe companies & store owners must stand behind their product. Therefore at the same time I sent off an email to the two new store owners , who gave me their business cards at time of purchase - nice touch ! At approximately 8PM that same night I received a return email from one of the owners of Seacoast Power taking responsibility, apologizing for my inconvenience and offering some solutions for my equipment problem. I stopped by first thing the next morning and met with the head of their service department where I received a hands on demonstration on how to spool the trim line properly. Net/ net the machine was fine , I needed some more training ! And to end this factual sales and service experience the owner of the store emailed me two days later to make sure all was operating properly.

I purchased 2 cords of seasoned, tumbled firewood from North Hill Nursery, but received approx 1.25…read morecords of untumbled wood. Because the wood was untumbled, I was left with two large tarps full of dirt, bark and splinters to clean up and remove. I also received many pieces under 8 inches, which is far shorter than the 16-18-inch lengths promised. After I provided photos, a video, and measurements of the stacked wood and excess debris, the General Manager acknowledged the shortage and admitted that I received wood from "the wrong pile". A partial refund was offered, but it did not cover the cost to remove the excess debris or their failure to deliver the advertised product. What was most disturbing is that the owner entered my private, fenced, and gated backyard unannounced and without my permission when I was not home to measure the wood - after they had already admitted to the shortage and 'wrong' wood. This was a serious invasion of my family's privacy and made me extremely uncomfortable allowing them back to remove the debris, despite the General Manager's offer. I received significantly less wood than I paid for, with undersized pieces, excess debris, additional cleanup, and an invasion of my family's privacy. The partial refund did not adequately resolve the issues. Based on my experience, I would not recommend North Hill Nursery.

Update: Business owners contacted us, apologized and mailed us a check for our full refund…read more(received). They also provided us with a $100 gift card to compensate for our experience. We are supporters of local businesses. Our experience with Bemisters, however, has been among the worst experiences we have ever had with a business. We ordered adirondack chairs earlier in the year. Because of the color we wanted they were special ordered for which we would have to pay shipping. We agreed. Roughly 2 months after we ordered them they were delivered... to the store (not our home as we'd been told). We went to pick them up and discovered they were not the color we ordered. Store employee confirmed they were the wrong color - manufacturer error. They suggested we take these while they processed a replacement order. We did. Over the next 2+ months we followed up with Bemisters several times on the replacements. No one could give us status on the replacements. When follow up calls to us were promised they were never received. We finally got tired of waiting for the replacements, we called and said they should cancel the replacement order and we were returning the incorrectly colored ones for a refund. Store employee agreed. At first they said they would pick up the chairs at our home. They never did. We ultimately dropped the chairs off at the store (pictures attached). Store employee acknowledged the condition of the chairs (like new). We were told because of the time that had passed since the original order they would have to issue a refund by check (instead of back to our credit card). After two weeks without receiving a check we followed up by phone with the store. Now we were being told that the chairs needed to be shipped to their other store to determine their condition and decide whether a refund would be issued. Absolute nonsense. When we commented on the horrible customer service we were receiving, we received a sarcastic "that's what we strive for" from the store employee. One way or another, we will get our refund. And we will never do business with this business again.
