Whenever I spend time outside New York, I see these little shops. Cutesy housewares stores, often in malls, usually with exactly the same merchandise. It always seems to be replicating a style, but until yesterday I had never seen the actual authentic *style* before at a store. When I walked in here, I was expecting the mall version, which usually features metal barn stars painted or sanded down to look like the paint is chipping. But as soon as I walked in, I realized that the "antiqued" surfaces were actually antique! Imagine my surprise! Once I noticed this, my energy perked up and I suddenly went from sllightly interested to manic. I NEEDED to have antique perfume bottles, beautiful wood and metal mirrors, and stunning wood furniture. Not that I actually got to buy much of the stuff, but you understand... The prices were low. Lower than the crap chain store version. The two items I did end up purchasing were small and large blue glass mason jars, priced at $5 and $8, I believe (for comparisons sake, a more modern version of the larger one is for sale on Etsy for $31). I also picked up a small wood block with my initial on it for a quarter. I have seen fake mall shops, and I have seen pretentious antique stores, but I have never seen something like this. This place is absolutely worth traveling for, and I can't wait to return! ps. I wish I knew about this place when we were decorating our apartment because they have some REALLY beautiful wooden furniture here. For cheap.

They draw on each bag . That's a nice touch!

I've been going to Just The Thing since 1998. It's the best locally owned store in the Seacoast area. The store is a lot bigger than it appears. The window displays are always amazing and inviting. Half my house is furnished with their reasonably priced furniture. They have a great selection of home decor, vintage items, antiques, repurposed/recycled, jewelry, signs, and anything in between. The staff is always friendly and helpful. You would pay twice as much anywhere else. There is definitely a good reason why this store has been open for almost 20 years. I would recommend this store to anyone, you won't be disappointed. You usually will find "just the thing".

This is the place to buy Salmon Falls pottery that we later saw way up in Maine as the selection is huge. They also have a seconds area to get some even better values. There are large pieces from bird baths to planters to small thimble sized pieces. We bought some to take home and probably would have bought more if it weren't for the fact that it was day one of our trip and we had limited ability to take purchases home. The staff were very helpful in making sure we found what we were looking for and answered all of our questions.

The pottery of Salmon Falls is a classic New Hampshire staple. Their pottery is distinguished by…read moretheir beautiful designs, the most popular being the blueberry-filled wicker basket (also mountain berries, love birds, and cranberries). Fantastic for kitchenware (casserole dishes/bowls, spoon jars, salt/pepper shakers, mugs & plates, sponge holders, butter molds) and even flower pots and lamps! They have a "seconds" section for pieces that aren't absolutely perfect (a GREAT deal for someone looking for nice-without-the-price), as well as a "cracked" section (these items are a little more disheveled...but are still great for a fruit bowl or a spoon jar). Sign up on their email list for coupons (they're generally in-store only, but STILL so worth the 40-70% off!); remember: these are a piece of NH artisan beauty (not made in China crapolla - the price is there for the potters' time and dedication). The perfect rustic kitsch piece that will bring delight to your kitchen and home. Just remember to read the care and baking instructions (sometimes starting with a cold oven is best, and I always avoid the dishwasher with these items even if they are "dishwasher friendly").

Sorry in advance for the length but…read more.. In the 1st week of Feb '17 we were searching for a power lift recliner. We researched brands/styles/pricepoint & options online. I was drawn to Lane. It turns out Lane's site had several chairs and offered a list of authorized retailers. Not one, within 100 miles had the chair I was interested in and there weren't too many dealers. But the chair looked great and style wise like I wanted so we went to Coastal Furniture in Greenland. Now keep in mind throughout this long story, I'm handicapped. I have difficulty walking and do so with a cane. We were told in Greenland we'd have to go to their other store in Dover. Ugh. So off we went. The store is a big house with product crammed into it and not friendly for a guy w a cane. If you were in a wheelchair, forget it. There's no one to greet you. You have to find your way thru the rooms to the very back. There was 1 saleswoman who we spoke to and looked up our chair. She brought out 2 enormous binders of coverings and explained the 3 categories. I wanted a "leather feel" but opted not to go w real leather - too pricey. So I settled on a "step up" faux leather covering in a mahogany color. We put down the 30% deposit and were told it's about 6 weeks. So I was looking forward April 1. A day or two later I got a call telling me she had not charged my card the deposit and just charged the delivery charge of $100. Ok, so I gave her my card again. At the end of that week. About 6 days later, I received another call telling me the covering I chose was discontinued. This was the first of many "ugh" moments. So we went back that Saturday, picked out another fabric, and realized the chair is now another 2 weeks behind. So mid April. Fast forward to mid April. No chair. I called and was told it's usually 8 weeks. But then at the end of April it was delivered. Here's the first furniture lesson, don't order any furniture you can't see in the store. This chair was enormous! I'm a big guy. It was big enough for Andre The Giant. It was so deep, I could not sit back enough. Also, the design was poor. The headrest portion was hard and made you head forward when sitting. It was simply a very uncomfortable piece of furniture. It was not the Lane furniture we've come to know and love. But the big problem was it did not recline fully ("unlimited reclining positions") as was described in the Lane website (see photo). We wanted to return it. We were told by Lane to contact the store. The store said "no recliner reclines all the way". This simply isn't true. Then, the chair started making horrible grinding noises. Again, we contacted the retailer. They sent a mechanic out who told my wife, "this chair is is imminent danger of defaulting. Metal is about to spring thru the side". He told my wife this is "lousy furniture" and "they've had lots of problems". He took the chair. Then I followed up with a call. She finally agreed to refund my money, less $100 for the delivery. It's mid July. Side note: I left out descriptions of the many emails and calls. The store avoided us at times I'm sure hoping we'd go away. It's not a company I'll ever do business with again. We found an excellent chair at Jordan's Furniture in Nashua. Fantastic experience. Btw, Nashua is 68 miles away. Delivery charge $52. Dover 16 miles $100. Rip off.

It was the cleanest I've seen them ever. There was a smell of lavender after the cleaning but not a strong chemical smell which was appreciated as I have a newborn. When she cleaned the second time she made sure the mirrors looked good. In addition, she went above and beyond and even cleaned inside my oven!
