Any sub-contractors are fully supervised and corrected as necessary. For example, our countertop contractors were balking at how tight a radius some of the corners were planned to be, the owner of KRB got them to remove the countertops again and buy the right tooling to cut the planned corner radius. A few things I already had (extensive Oxo products which I swear by, graters, zesters, spatulas, peelers, ice cube trays, I could go on). I resisted the temptation to buy the handy long-handled spoon that would be perfect for scraping the bottoms of jam or peanut butter jars. My companion and I giggled over a couple of "must haves"--unicorn shaped ice cubes anyone?--but the display was impressive. But kitchen gadgets are just a start. Bowls, knives (I now know what a ceramic knife is), pots, pans, and items better described by others here. it reminded me of a Sur La Table or Williams Sonoma. Just when I thought I was going to get out of there without a purchase, I discovered the perfect pasta/ramen bowl (pictured) to replace one I had recently broken. Durned you, LeRoux Kitchen!!!

Poor communication, delays in shipping and I had to chase and nag to get answers, several issues with cabinets and basically got no assitance in rectifying them. I had to pay my contractor an extra $500 to fix the pull out shelves in my 2 large pantries because they were supposed to have under-mounted slides and came with side slides that worked poorly, bearings falling out and just junk. Asked Joe about this and got no reply. Overall the cabinets are good, solid and decently made but there were definite corners cut in manufacturing, screws missing, slides that didn't work properly that we had to fix ourselves. Cabinets labeled wrong and overall just disappointing. So if you want a good "salesman" Joe is your guy but if you want a good customer service person look elsewhere because you will get less than stellar service if there is even the slightest issue and when you chase for answers be prepared to be treated like you did something wrong.

Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issues, Factory Direct has been uncooperative. Given the nearly $10,000 we spent, it's frustrating to be unable to use the hot tub. In contrast, I've had a positive experience with Nordic hot tubs, having owned one for 17 and a half years without any issues.

As a result virtually all other designers wanted us to significantly modify the exterior profile of the house to get the cabinet storage and counter tops that we wanted. When we first spoke with Emilie she offered to create a side by side design with our current front running design. She had great visualization software that gave us 3 dimensional views which were very helpful. Her design and cost break down were significantly competitive with the previous designs we had. We then agreed to have her run her own design to see what she could come up with. Her design was an immediate favorite. She was able to accommodate the need for cabinets and countertops without modifying the exterior profile. The quality and configurations of the cabinets were a big selling factor. Emilie created an extensive and comprehensive design for the final cabinet purchase. She worked with us to successfully utilize every inch of available space. The final installation instructions were highlighted with extra notations to emphasize installation requirements. Her attention to detail is remarkable. She came out to the sight several times to facilitate the design and discuss special placements with the primary contractor. Overall we are exceptionally happy with the effort Emilie contributed and the final product is better than we had hoped. The only negative issue we had was a couple problems with delivery. There were a few damaged cabinets which delayed the finishing the final product. However, the cabinets were replaced and we are happy with the final product.
