My expectations weren't exactly low for this place but pretty much everything there surpassed my best guesses going in. Great and friendly service, amazing food, good deals, and a cool atmosphere. My friends and I sat at the bar and we had really attentive service up there, and we had a better view from there of all the old school action figures and toys from back when. I asked the server if we should go for burgers or pizza and I was expecting him to say pizza but he said burgers immediately. I was surprised but not once the food showed up. I ordered their classic burger/whatever the first one listed is...and every single bite was amazing. Fantastic, really flavorful burger with amazing fries, and just the right amount of sauce on the burger. The only thing I'd change next time is I'd order an app too, as the food was amazing but my friends who also got burgers and I left kind of hungry. We saw them on Chicago's best and they said the burgers were great so we decided to go. My mom got the burger which was really really good. My husband and I got pizzas and garlic knots. The garlic knots were out of control! So good and gooey. I got some kind of wonderful and it was really good (I love truffle oil). We got the space balls too which was there most popular and it was okay. But I'm not a huge meatball girl so I do t know how much you want to take my advice on that. My husband said it was "fine". The fries were also really good. It was nice they had high chairs too. The only thing that I'll say sucked was they literally only had one waiter for the whole place who was also bar tending. That mad things a little slow. Which I will say we are super used to in the city but it kind of sucked with a little kid there having to wait so long. I have been meaning to try this spot for a while, many friends have recommended it. Well they did not disappoint and I am a tough critic when it comes to pizza being a born and raised Chicago girl. I got delivery- ordered a small White Pie, a Burger and a small half pepperoni- it arrived perfect temperature- omg the White Pie was fantastic chunks of garlic and the ricotta plus the mix of cheeses - the cheeseburger was also amazing. I believe it was a burger, beer and shot. All of it was about $15 I think. We ordered a huge catering order for a family party, and my family still can't stop raving about how wonderful the food was! They LOVED the pizzas with honey, and the burgers were a huge hit. Salads were super fresh and tasty, and everything is high quality - even the plain cheese pizza we ordered for the kids (who ended up eating the spicy pizza anyway!!) tasted like an old school NY style cheese pizza that actually has flavor. The Stop Along is high off a win for Best Burger at Roscoe Village's 2022 Burger Fest for BOTH critics' and peoples' choice, so, yeah - it's DELICIOUS. If you're looking for a unique Chicago experience the StopAlong is your place! It's a really fun interior with relics of video games and action figures everywhere. In the back they have some retro original video games, which is really fun. Come on Thursday evenings for game night: free video games in the back, ping-pong in the front, and cheap drinks! I tried to stop along burger and it tasted great! It actually reminded me a little bit of the In n' Out burger with the cheese melted ever so perfectly on the patty. The fries are thin and salty and great! To top off the retro, hipster experience they serve your bill on an original Nintendo game cartridge!! How fun is that!! This is definitely a gem! read more

Had this burger at Roscoe Village "burger fest" this year. I don't know about anybody else but I thought it was the best one! By far. We stopped in last night for a burger. We ended up ordering a small pizza and a burger which we shared. The food was great and the staff went out of there way to make us feel home. They even gave us some Complimentary ice cream with olive oil and sea salt. We will be back thank you to you and you're staff (we'll bring the kids next time). read more

The reason I'm taking time to write a review now is during Covid 19 they have made some adjustments that show they're really trying their best: Paper plates Wiping down the video games with Clorox wipes Serving drinks in the can rather than pouring into a glass The burger is as good as ever Pizza is good and they always accommodate my request to cut the pizza party style In conclusion--this is a great neighborhood place for kids and adults. Hey. I have a question. Do you, Stop Along, like what you do for a living? It doesnt show. At least not your wait staff. I came in recently with my son on a Friday night. Your staff...all of them, treated us was horrible. No one said hi, welcome, we will be with you shortly, or sit anywhere. Actually is obvious by what little interest and interaction all the staff had that evening, your establishment hates kids. We were passed over twice for a seat. First we were told the long table was reserved but 15 mins later....the table was still not filled. Shouldn't you seat your current customer first? Okay maybe that's not important to you. When we did get to sit down, the whole process sucked. (and that's me being generous) From ordering, to meal delivery, food, to check out there was no greeting, or water refills. Actually no one spoke to us at all. Only mute, annoyed looking waitstaff walking around cleaning plates with a snobbish look of annoyance, dropping off food, or getting payment for the food. If it wasnt for the rain and horrible Friday traffic and my son being so hungry, I would have left. When I mentioned our seating inquiry to the waiter he didnt seem concerned or apologetic. He simply stated the reservations didnt show up, swiped my card. Still I gave the standard 18% tip only bc they lord over you watching what you'll put down. Even with the tip, no thank you or come again. The pizza is overpriced, small and greasy with soggy crust. The hamburger, like someone else said Fatso is better. By the way.... I did notify the management team of our experience in a Yelp DM but they didnt respond, no surprise there. Guess I have my answer. They dont care. So no....I will not be going back. read more

It was through the internet that I discovered this restaurant, and the photographs of the cuisine on their menu got me hungry, so I decided to try it out. I will definitely regret not coming here. I was able to get them to stop in Burger King. And it's a good pick because it has a melt-in-your-mouth patty that's not too seasoned, doesn't have any weird processed preservative flavors, and tastes fresh and clean. The cheese, as well as the other toppings, give the burger just the proper amount of heft and flavor. You'd think that this burger would be easy to tear apart, but the soft bun managed to keep the whole thing together without falling apart. In addition, there are the fries. The crispiness is a plus. This establishment isn't scared to sprinkle salt on its fries. The perfect amount of salt was used. A few weeks later they send me a BOGO burger offer and so as to not be completely douchey and rude, totally took them up on it. Me and my son strolled in around 7ish on a weeknight and they were fairly busy but landed a spot at one of their long tables near the front. The Burger (The Stop-In) was one of the best burgers ive ever had the pleasure of eating and I've consumed many...with a Yelp list of over 50 if you care. It was w.out a doubt a 5 Star and then some. Every single component of this burger came together in what only can be described as a Holy Matrimony of two perfectly griddle seared patties, caramelized onions, ooey gooey cheese, 1000 island dressing, lettuce and tomato on a delightful brioche bun. My food rating is probably a 3.5, but the ambiance juuuust pushes it up to a 4. Coolest place for throwback and nerdy vibes. My partner and I spent more time waxing nostalgic over all the toys n things than we did eating. Cheesy bread was good! It's cheese and bread -- hard not to like. I had the All the Right Moves Pizza, with the standout ingredient being hot honey. Any doubts I had about that were rapidly dispelled. I'm sold on it now -- honey for sure belongs on a pizza. I'm not a huge fan of the crust here (too thin), but I'll recognize that that's just my personal preference and I can't really dock stars for that. If you're a NY-style fan, you'll be happy here. The gluten free pizza is just ok. It was a lot smaller than the regular pizza and my partner's came out burnt :( All in all a good time, but we probably won't be back. read more

Picked up a cheeseburger to go at 2pm on a Saturday. Was able to walk right up to the bar and order. Burger was very cheesy, thin patties. Crispy (burnt edges) and a brioche bun. Came with tomato onion and pickles, Pretty tasty. Similar to a shake shake but bigger (but with garnishes). Fries were thin cut like McDonald's. Standard, nothing to write home about. It's hard to imagine anyone not being charmed by this pizza place. But it'll be especially delightful for kids of the 80s like me. The ambiance is a bright combination of colorful pop art, walled skateboards, and 80s paraphernalia (from a lunchbox collection to Transformers figures to a tipsy-looking Yoda watching over their booze selection). Though they have booze and beer on tap, it's also a great family spot, which some of the locals seem to have discovered: there were a few families with gleeful toddlers as well as a group of teens who'd managed to escape the parental units for a blissful moment. Robin Williams charmingly bounced around screen as they played "Blubber", which was silenced by energizing punk music. But don't let that deter you - it was the good kind of punk. I started off with the garlic knots and didn't stop until they were completely devoured. Perfectly bite-sized, soft knot balls with a delicious dousing of garlic butter. Pour a little of their Parmesan on those bad boys and you'll reach a heightened state of bread-and-butter bliss. They come with red sauce for those of you who are into those sorts of shenanigans. For my pizza, I got a small half Sho' Nuff (mozzarella, feta, Gorgonzola, dollops of spicy tomato sauce) and half Some Kind of Wonderful (I only recall I had to get this bc it was a cheese pizza with honey. Honey, I say!). I really enjoyed both. The crust is thin but chewy and delish. I was tipped off that their burger is modeled after the famous In n Out double double and it comes highly recommended. And if you don't want to get a wink of sleep, you're welcome to distract the kiddos with their soft serve ice cream (not on the menu).
