I've been here for a coffee or tea on a few occasions, as well as for lunch once, and it is really an experience. The shop is bright and welcoming and full of warmth. You'll feel relaxed before you even grab that cup to drink. You could spend a long time reading the tea menu. Coffee is a little bit frowned upon here. In addition, customers may make a reservation for afternoon tea, which for adults includes a choice of a pot of tea as well as a three-tier stand of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries. The foods and price vary for children aged 12 and under. ​ ​The bistro's menu lists foods such as quiche, avocado toast, fruit bowls, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, flatbreads, wraps, paninis, salads, quesadillas, smoothies, and milkshakes. A freezer contains about a dozen flavors of gelatos. Furthermore, shelves feature merchandise such as bags of teas, teapots, mugs, t-shirts, earrings, etcetera. My husband and I ate one breakfast here. An employee immediately and kindly greeted us. We placed our order at the cash register and then sat at a table of our choosing. Some tables were already reserved for the afternoon tea. I ate Baked French Toast (5 stars), which consisted of a brioche with custard, cinnamon, sugar, strawberry sauce, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, and banana slices. I drank a Masala Chai Tea (4.5 stars). My husband ate the Loaded Breakfast Panini Wrap (3.5 stars), which contained scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheeses, avocado, sour cream, and salsa. The ingredients were separate, which he said looked pretty but tasted just OK. He used his utensil to try to mix the ingredients. He ate only half of it. He drank a Gelato Iced Chocolate (4.5 stars), a chilled hot chocolate with vanilla gelato and whipping cream on top. I also purchased a Dubai chocolate bar (4.5 stars) for about $20. It was not my all-time favorite Dubai chocolate, but it was a large size, and it tasted very good for being made in Pittsburgh. this is very possibly my favorite spot in the entire southwest pa/greater pittsburgh area! their tea selection is ENORMOUS and i've been coming here for years and still never tried one that i didn't like! (i also love being able to grab a few of their little $1 tea sample packets in whatever flavor i didn't get that day to bring home for later) the shop itself is sooooo cute and an absolutely lovely place to spend a morning. the staff & owners are also so so sweet! read more

The servers were so warm and welcoming. They have such a wonderful tea collection including seasonal blends, and we loved that we could try an unlimited number of teas from their collection! It's very kid-friendly and has a beautiful ambience as well, with plenty of seating and a cozy feel. As for the tea itself, you can tell it was prepared with so much care. Surprising to find this charming tea establishment in the hamlet of "Morgan" in South Fayette. Just a short distance off of I-79 Bridgeville exit. When you pass the Municipal building, slow down because the Steeping Leaf is in the building on the right and you could pass by if going to fast. There is a parking lot for customers. A sign greets you before entering explaining masks are required and they can only accommodate 25 guests. The Steeping Leaf has outdoor seating on three sides of their building, and the inside is spacious with spread out conversation style seating. There is a small side room that would be perfect for a meeting. The decor has a sophisticated cosmopolitan style and the day I was there you could feel the calming vibe. A chalkboard displays the panini, soup and quiche of the day. Behind the Gelato counter are several more boards listing the many other food options and abundant teas, latte, and other beverages. There are salads and wraps as well as snacks. You order your food at the counter but a server delivers to your table. My friend and I enjoyed their grilled vegetable with goat cheese panini and chose the delicious root chips on the side. They are open Tuesday thru Sunday and I'll be back to try the brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday. I'll be visiting the Steeping Leaf again and will update my review. read more

My baby shower was held at The Steeping Leaf. We visited twice before: once for an afternoon tea and once for lunch. Both times beforehand we were met by the owner to discuss the shower. The tea menu is extensive and each time we had excellent tea. All of the food is delicious! For the shower, once we had discussed what we were looking for (Mad Hatter Tea Party), the owner took it from there. We arrived for the baby shower and everything was decorated and set up. It looked incredible! The space is so inviting, the decorations were amazing, food was delicious, and the tea was great as well. The last time I was in this building, it was called General Morgan's Cafe, and that was a few years ago. Since then, the inside of the building has been totally renovated, and they did a fantastic job with it. It is now called The Steeping Leaf, and they offer a plethora of hot and cold drinks to include teas, coffee, espresso, chai, and fruit smoothies, along with a lunch menu, pastries, and gelatos to satisfy your sweet tooth. I was happy to see they also have a lot of gluten-free options, to include scones, brownies, and even gluten-free waffle cones for the gelato. Today I stopped in and had an afternoon treat called "Spaghetti Bowl" gelato. It was delicious, and was gelato mixed with whipped cream and a fruity topping, I enjoyed it very much. They have super good food and tea. It is very nice in there and definitely somewhere I will be going again. I have been there multiple times and it never is bad. One of my favorite things about going there is the candles that they sell. The business is called Smiling Willow Candles and who ever owns it does a great job. We absolutely LOVE the Steeling Leaf! It is our favorite spot for a tea or coffee meeting, as well as working there all day . Everything on the menu is delicious and the I especially like all of the German style specials they make. Super cool vibe, and the only coffee/tea shop we go too. My only gripe (which is small) is that I wish they used an actual espresso machine for their espresso drinks, rather than using a Nespresso machine, but I get they are a tea shop first.
