You can't go wrong with either. You also have the option to sit in the dining room room or the bar room where the gelato is held. I've had their pepperoni pizza before and their pizza is very good it's very fluffy and it's square. During my visit here I came for lunch and I got their wedding soup and their chicken dish. Half our party got there early around 7 pm, and they sat us early. I got the Basil Pesto Cream with spaghetti + veal meatball - this is one of the best pesto dishes I've ever had! And that meatball was great. We shared the Fried Zucchini - we all enjoyed it. I loved the breading. The complimentary fresh focaccia was incredible. You get free refills, AND they give you MORE if you have leftovers to take home! My fiancé got some of the focaccia pizza: Slice of Classic Italian with Pepperoni & hot honey, and a slice of Margherita. He loved this! I took a couple bites & it was delish! Our server Sheresa was AMAZING! @ Papa J's management - she deserves a raise! She was so sweet and so on top of everything. She even cut and served the outside cake we brought (shoutout Oakmont Bakery). She also brought us free samples of their gelato, which were amazing. This was a 10/10 experience and I can't wait to go back.

Ended p getting a sundae and enjoyed it (you can pick any flavor of ice cream for sundaes). $8.50 for a speciality sundae which is about average these days. The service was great. We were waitied on immediately, asked if we wanted to sample any flavors.. I personally just wish they had more fall/winter seasonal flavors instead of lemon cookie and other flavors that remind me more of summer. But they did have a nice selection of flavors (three cases full) and they the typical selection cups, cones, sundaes and milkshakes. They do not accept cash! It's an Oakland staple, glad they've remained open and in the same spot all these years.

As soon as I entered the shop, an employee very kindly spoke with me. She patiently waited while I decided which flavors of ice creams to order, and she offered me free samples. Almost a couple dozen flavors were on display (e.g., pumpkin Oreo, strawberry, fruit cocktail, chocolate s'mores, keylime pie, Heath, and cookie dough). I ordered a cone with one scoop of Nutter Butter ice cream (5 stars) and one scoop of Oatmeal Raisin ice cream (4 stars). It cost several dollars. These scoops were a very large size and tasted good to excellent. I enjoyed my ice-cream cone. Some indoor seating was available. As I was leaving the shop, the employee thanked me and wished me a good day. One recommendation is to paint the walls a fun color other than white.

Their crepe selection is honestly one of the best parts of the menu, with so many unique options to choose from, but the House of Crepe was definitely the standout!! It's small and homey and playful and inviting. We had both savory crepes and sweet crepes here and they were all good. For savories, we had the Bonjour and the Love Hate Thing. I liked the Love Hate Thing better. The maple syrup on the Bonjour didn't do anything for me. There was just a lot going on. The sweet crepes were delicious; both the Banoffee and the Cookie Monster were tasty, but Cookie Monster wins--the crunchy bits on there were clutch. The crepes themselves have a really nice texture and flavor, not gummy or tough, and they complimented both the sweet and savory fillings nicely. Next time I go I'm going to try a waffle or French toast, as all the plates around me looked great and I think sweet might be my way to go here. Coffee is Lavazza, espresso is LaPrima.
