This was my first experience with Vannika and the Staging Tree, but it will not be my last. Professional, human, easy to work with! Plus, they designed the San Francisco space with little input on our end. The result was beautiful, and it highlighted everything we needed it to in an efficient one-bedroom space. This particular city listing had certain bold paint colors other than the typical staged white, and the Staging Tree worked with the colors for a modern yet homey feel. Their team understands proportion, and it felt like the furniture was made for the space. The inventory is high quality. Many times potential buyers asked if the sellers were still living in the space, because it did not feel staged... meaning, the furniture had a nice flow and the kind of lived-in quality that helps buyers immediately see a place like it's their home (rather than the sometimes stiff or uncomfortable effect with other staging). One of the best things about the Staging Tree is the option to pay with credit card, which is very rare with stagers. So helpful for sellers who are incurring a lot of other preparation costs. Our experience with Vannika and Joey at The Staging Tree was flawless from beginning to end! Communication was easy and prompt. Within a few days of reaching out via Yelp, Joey came by our condo to assess the space and provide initial recommendations and an estimate. He was friendly and professional and I immediately felt that we were in good hands. He made excellent suggestions (i.e. taking out a wall-mounted shoe cabinet that was making the entryway feel crowded) and was open to our request for a warm, natural, and modern aesthetic. We had a tight budget and Vannika was able to work with us to make it happen. Walking into our condo after the staging was complete was a dream come true! Staging can sometimes feel overly decorative and clownish, but Vannika and Joey are masters at creating spaces that feel polished but also gracious, modern and warm. They also did a wonderful job staging our small balcony, adding in lovely details like two copper mugs and a bottle of Pellegrino! In difficult market conditions we were able to accept an offer after just one open house weekend and I have no doubt the staging made a significant difference. Setup and removal of the items was done efficiently, without any damage or delays. I would recommend reading the staging contract carefully as they do have very specific requirements regarding timeline for removal of the staging and prior cleaning of the unit. Nothing unreasonable, but we were glad we read it carefully. We worked with many other vendors during the selling process, but the folks at The Staging Tree were by far the best and reduced our stress rather than adding to it. Stagers spend lots of money on new furniture to keep the home looking fresh and on trend. If the home is occupied the furniture can easily become soiled look 'used' quickly. I don't want to hurt their review average too much, because they were friendly and quick to respond. Unfortunately, they do not stage occupied homes. I was the top listing agent in my office for 2018 and work primarily with 365 Staging in the south bay and peninsula, but was looking for a good Contra Costa and North Alameda County stager so that my current stager wouldn't have to travel so far. 90% of my listings are occupied when I list them, and most sell in the first week, above list price. Most of my Sellers will move most of their possessions out of the house to allow for staging. It was disappointing to hear that even in a house with no pets and just 2 adults in the house, Staging Tree would not stage the house. As I politely told them, I assume they have enough business to be able to establish this as a rule, but they might be leaving a lot of business on the table.
