Disappointed - Warning - Sandra from Fresh Home Staging requested a $4,000 deposit towards a total charge of $5,000 to stage my very small one-bedroom apartment. We agreed upon a $3,000 deposit as I thought a $4,000 deposit was too high. Luckily for me, my apartment sold off the market weeks before it was to be listed. My realtor contacted Sandra TWO WEEKS before the staging was to be done and she refused to refund all or any part of the $3,000 deposit. The contract did state non-refundable; however, it didn't seem reasonable that she would find it conscionable to keep the whole $3,000 deposit. My expectation was for a reasonable conclusion. Not to mention my realtor uses her often. She gave him no regard either (favor to a frequent client since she works with him often). Very disappointed in how Sandra handled this situation. Sandra was great to start, friendly and coming by to view our home and give us a quote on short notice. But then she pulled out of a signed contract for consultation and staging work *a week* before the project was to begin with a cryptic email about her not feeling that she could work with our contractors (even though she had not actually communicated with them directly yet). We signed contract on a Friday afternoon and she said she needed the full payment within 24 hours (on a weekend when we were traveling). I absolutely loved working with Sandra and Kathryna! We decided to sell our home while still living in it with a 6 month baby, not an easy situation - but S&K sure made it easy! We had 3 different stagers come out to do estimates and we just really "clicked" with S&K like with nobody else. LIke another reviewer said, they are not bargain basement cheap - but their price is competitive and fair for what you get. Sandra and Kathryna were professional and easy going at the same time - not that common in the real estate world! Since we were doing partial staging, they went through and told us which pieces of furniture we should keep and which ones we should move to storage. I felt their recommendations made the space look fantastic, at the same time keeping it livable for us - they let us keep the TV (score!) and barely touched the baby's room (they said they don't like to disturb the baby's environment, which I very much appreciated). When we had minor hiccups after the installation with one of the pieces, they were right on it and helped us resolved the problem ASAP. Their vendor recommendations are also excellent and very much appreciated. I loved that the used fresh flowers and plants - I really hate fake looking plants when visiting open houses. These 5 stars are for both what Sandra and Kathryna did and even more for what they didn't. I was referred to them from my realtor (Laura Kaufman/Zephyr) to stage our condo for sale. They arrived, and gave our place the once over. Within a few minutes, they directly said "we don't need to be here". Somehow our place was "close enough" that just by cleaning up and organizing, along with a few suggestions and advice they didn't push their services on us at all. They put sticky notes on items to remove, gave advice about color and in the end, thanked ME for the opportunity to come by, and charged us nada. Super cool. The short story: We hired these guys for interior design consulting. Under a tight budget, Sandra bridged the gap between my partner's and my aesthetic tastes, transforming our apartment into a warm and inviting home. Our new furniture and décor not only looks great, but is also comfortable, functional, and unique. We loved working with FRESH Home Staging and cannot recommend them enough!! The longer story: My partner and I recently moved back to San Francisco with our two sons, ages 9 months and 3 years. When our couch didn't fit through the door, we decided we needed new furniture. We had always wanted to upgrade from our mismatched, hand-me-down furniture bazaar to a grown-up space. When we began looking online and in catalogs, it was obvious that this process would end in a fist fight if we didn't enlist a mediator. Enter Sandra and Kathryna from FRESH Home Staging. At the initial walk-through, Sandra and Kathryna came not only to check out our space, but also to get to know us, hear our story, and understand our lifestyle. Before we started planning, they respectfully listened to our needs and preferences. For example, they immediately agreed that the furniture had to be especially durable and sturdy for the kids. They listened sympathetically as I explained my desire for a more modern, streamlined look, while my partner shared her love of South American baskets and textiles. They totally understood that Grandpa's handmade dresser made was a permanent installation. At the same time, they gently but firmly encouraged me to discard the furniture from my dumpster-diving and sidewalk-rescuing days. With their help, we began to make this project happen. For the next two months, I worked with Sandra via both email and a collaborative Pinterest board. She kindly held my hand through the entire selection process. She started working pretty early in the morning, so it was always a treat to wake up with some new "pins" of ideas for our place. Once those were picked out, she narrowed down options for the accompanying pieces, like side tables, chairs, lamps, rugs, curtains, etc. My partner and I also posted some pins to give Sandra an idea of the types of items we liked, even if they were way out of our price range or not the right fit for our space. Sandra's mantra was "The more information, the better." Ultimately, I got to make the final decisions, purchasing some pieces from online merchants and snagging other deals from Craigslist. With Sandra's inspiration, we even pulled together a beautiful DIY shelving installation. Once most of the furniture arrived, Sandra came over to add some finishing touches - she moved things around a bit, hung art on the walls, and made a few more suggestions to complete the "look." We had opted to do everything collaboratively with her, and it was really satisfying to see it all come together in the end. We all felt very accomplished, amazed that this had happened in so little time. And most important: the process was so cost efficient, including Sandra's fee, that we were even able to dedicate our leftover budget to redesigning our bedroom. I love these guys!! My husband and I sold our home in SF almost two years ago - and in all honesty FRESH was the sole enjoyable transaction of the selling process.
