Lobster roll with a side of greens
Snoop D.

Tried Spot on the Dock this afternoon with a friend and we each got the lobster roll. It was truly one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had in the state of Vermont-- even better than some I've had on the coast. Service was good, wasn't terribly busy when we went so things moved along pretty quickly. The view/ambiance is really nice, it almost makes you forget you're in Burlington. If you're in the mood for a lobster roll, definitely give this Spot a try!

This is a review for The Sweet Spot, a brand new ice cream shop - not The Spot on the Dock. I guess because The Sweet Spot is so new and they are owned by the same people then they're combining the reviews!

Super great spot for views and atmosphere. The server came up super frequently to ask if we wanted to close our which sort of was a lot at some points. The ranch water was great! The calamari was super greasy and oily so I didn't love that. I think it probably just missed being dried after the frier but wasn't my fav to eat honestly

Great service and good draft selections from local breweries. I just had a beer and small order of tortilla chips/salsa while I watched the sun come down and the boats come in. I also see plenty of seating available with tables. Loved my visit!!

Solid 3 stars, just like Yelp determined. I will say that their outdoor seating area, specifically the lounge couches are very cool and a great place to hang out. However, minimal shading on hot days and we suffered. We came on a Sunday around lunch time and it was quite busy, but we were able to sit right away. Service was somewhere between mediocre and poor. The gal taking care of us seemed like she definitely didn't want to be there. We ordered drinks, which were all pretty good. I tried both their regular mojito and their frozen mojito. The frozen mojito was super refreshing and not overly sweet. As an app, we tried the avocado fries, which were good, but the dipping sauce wasn't the right one. Something more cooling would have been better, but I did love the crispy-ness. Entrees were mediocre. I got the fish tacos which are called something different on the menu. Fish was a bit soggy and a little fishy. Pricing is high, but what else would we expect on the water? Overall, I would come back for drinks and atmosphere, but it wouldn't be a first choice for food.

An amazing spot to enjoy the water, soak in the sun and watch the boats on a nice summer day. They are located away from the central Church street tourist area, so it is peaceful also. Love the extra big umbrellas that provide cool pools of shade so you don't have to stay in the sun for the whole time. Friendly and helpful staff make sure you get everything you want. I had a beer and the calamari, as it was early. I really liked my food choice as they included garnish the dish liberally with green onions and red pickled peppers. These two additions elevated the typical greasy app to a whole new level of delicious. My friends had full meals and their lobster rolls were one of the best they've ever had. There is a lot of lobster in the roll! Definitely recommend. The people watching is interesting also.

Part of our reason for a return visit was the outstanding service provided to us by Molly. We felt double spoiled by having her be our server for dinner. The setting was delightful. Both times we got a great table by the window with fabulous views of the harbor and Lake Champlain. The vibe is relaxed, warm, and charming. No frills. The focus is on the food and the view. The food was really good. For lunch we shared a lobster roll. Now I know that there is a lot of controversy on what makes an "authentic" lobster roll. My take on having them in just about every state from Maine to Florida and and few tasty ones in my inland location. This one tasted good to me - lots of lobster, not too much mayo, fresh soft bun and some nice romaine for some crunch. They made me a lovely Cranberry Mule mocktail to sip on during the meal. For dinner my husband had the Crab Cake and I had the Shrimp Scampi. Both were quite good and the fish tasted fresh. We finished off with a decadent Key Lime Pie. Next time we are in the Burlington area, this will definitely be worth a return visit.

Our entrees were the Broiled Seafood platter and Lobster tail (approx 1.5lb at market price). We were craving seafood and I am glad we dined in because the food was delicious. The service staff was friendly, however, I'm docking a star for how long it took for us to receive our dinner. It was a two hour experience, while others around us, who sat after us, ate and left. We are convinced our server forgot to put our order in, especially since the tables surrounding us had different servers than ours. Any communication from our server would of been helpful as to why there was a hold up on our entrees. Either way, the food was good and I recommend the beautiful views.

Located in the Courtyard (Marriott) Hotel, only a stone's throw from Lake Champlain and close to the center of Burlington, VT, the restaurant sits just off the lobby. I made a dinner reservation and we was seated by the window with a view of the park with the lake beyond. Off to a good start. My Dirty Martini was spot-on. The perfect balance of Tito's and brine. Only missing the 'bleu' cheese olives. I often order a second appetizer as my entree. My starter was carpaccio that was outstanding. The microgreens were a nice touch. The mussels (appetizer) that I chose for my main course were small in size but ample in portion and were the perfect choice for me. My husband chose the cheese platter for his starter. It was disappointing. Two slices of bleu cheese. Should have been three different ones for $15. And no VT cheddar? Not much imagination here. His Steak Frites was OK; the quality of the beef could have been better. We shared the spinach watermelon salad which was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, we liked this restaurant and will return.

But after setting in, it feels pretty good, almost like home. We were there with a large group, seating was a little tight. Creative cocktails, extensive wine list. Lots of small plates, apps - all were amazing. Our server was on point - explained everything very well, and when we were unsure about trying something, we were encouraged. All local farm to table ingredients. Local wines and spirits. Local cheeses, including some pretty rare choices. Entree I had was the pork tenderloin. Portion was huge. Pork fresh, well seasoned and moist. Excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant, to date, it's best restaurant I've eaten at in Burlington. Parking in a nearby garage.

I was lured here because someone said it was better than Bistro de Margo; it was not. Service was good from the server and poor from the bus boys and kitchen. The kitchen failed in many ways. Could I give it fractional scorse it would be 2.6. The server was good and had a phenomenal memory to take all our orders with no notes. Wow! The three appetizers were delivered out of order. One came. Fast forward 20 minutes; the remaining two came out. The appetizer dishes were never cleared. They hung around until we decided not to have desert! The appetizers were underwhelming; how can you screw up a Caesar salad? The main courses disappointed in many ways. The dishes were serverd luke warm. Mussels were dehydrated on top of the heap and obvioulsy sat under a heat map. The steaks were cooked well but accompaniments were cold, cool, or barely warm; take your pick none were appetizing.
