We've been to The Spot a few times, but don't really plan to return. Service was fine, we never had a problem with that. Food was okay, I've had worse, but it definitely wasn't worth the price. The cocktail list is meh, seems dated. The whole menu seems to be a reflection of what was trendy 10 years ago. The seating isn't super comfortable, and the last couple times we went we were seated very close to families with noisy children, which is probably fine for people who enjoy family joints, but not for us because we don't have kids. The sushi is the only exception to all of the above. The sushi is great, although we noticed some recent changes to the menu with less variety. If we were to return, it would probably to get a couple sushi rolls for take-out. read more

The food was also ok, but I think there is some room for improvement. Here's what we ordered: .- Crispy Calamari: They were good. They were crispy as announced but not dry. The crispy peppers was a nice touch (to me the actual star of the plate!) .- Fish Tacos: The tortilla was soft... too soft. I did not appreciate the texture since it felt too cold and it felt apart when trying to eat it. The fish was ok (perhaps a little bit bland) so we ended up only eating the fish. .- Impossible Burger: We ordered the Impossible burger but with the regular bun, not with the one they normally serve it. We indicated that we did not consume dairy so we did not want cheese. Well, the burger came with cheese. It was easy to remove so we did not complain and simply eat it. The burger was overcooked. The Impossible Meat is not exactly cooked as regular meat so my assumption is that it was cooked as a regular burger and that is way it was overcooked so too dry. I have to say that the sushi they were serving looked amazing! The BEST part of this review is that I tried using their online wait-list, but due to the size of my dinner party I had to call. The gentleman I spoke with was most helpful, took all my info and made the reservation for my party of 10. I arrived way early in order to unwind from a stressful day. I walked in and was greeted by the host. I explained that I had the reservation, knew I was very early and that I would be in the bar section, adding that to please inform any early birds where I am. She did .. it wasn't long before I had 2 friends join me. The bartender was wonderful - friendly and gave us excellent service. My group of 10.arrived one by one and we were seated at a back table. Separate checks were not an issue - that helped. Let me add that the place was moderately busy with a noise level I haven't experienced in a long time... Way too loud to the point where we had to shout in order to converse... I really hate that : - ((( Our server took our orders and it seemed like forever before the food arrived. Serving 10 its understandable.. Anyway, I had ordered a roasted beet salad. It seemed like they'd opened a bag of greens and just dumped them , adding a few chunks of beets, some crumbled goat cheese and voila.. BORING and I'm sorry to add tasteless. The diners to my right and across from me had ordered sandwiches and burgers dwarfed by thin fries which took up more than half of their plates To my left my dining companion had ordered baked haddock. not for me to say, but I was nauseated by strong fishy odor.. Yocal spot. Bartender takes 20 minutes to acknowledge your presence bc she's talking with an older couple for extra tips, and another 10 min to make the drink. Then she'll make another and another and another and over serve you. Don't worry about getting cut off at the spot!! If this wasn't the only place in town I'd never go. Elderly crowd. They do have good food and a nicely planned menu. Burgers are great, as well as many other entrees including wonderful sushi rolls. I have to take two stars off because I observed that a young person had ordered the nachos and was not happy with them as they were too heavy, overwhelmed with too much meat and cheese in proportion to the chips. The bar server asked if he wanted to take it home and he said no. It was obvious he didn't like it yet she would not take it off their bill even though they didn't touch it. My husband and I moved to G town recently and have been to the spot many times since. It's always busy no matter when you go which says a lot about a place but typically you can find a seat. If you go on trivia nights, get there early, so you can claim your bar seat. The service can be slow, but we're never in a rush when we're there. We've enjoyed most of the food we've gotten. In particular, I'd recommend, the wings, chili, spot burger, Reuben, fish &chips, Mac n cheese, and short rib. The beer on tap is pretty pricey and the cocktails aren't great, so we end up getting bottled beer there typically. If you plan to go to the spot or any other Serenitee restaurant, download the Serenitee app. You can rack up points very quickly and get money off of your meal which is great because the dinners there are pretty pricey for a small town restaurant. This is another N Shore gem from the highly regarded Serinitee Group (I love their Opus and Hale St Tavern in Salem and Beverly) I've recently discovered. Lovely ambiance and cocktails and food selection and staff excellent . Sadly, we have to deal with new restrictions so I've stayed with takeout which has not disappointed . Great way to support our local establishments and not have to cook or go to supermarkets.. Love the sushi rolls , fish tacos and seven spice salmon but from my carnivore friends the burgers and steak tips seem to do it for them. Hope to see you guys at the bar for an cocktail soon. The food here is pretty good, atmosphere very good, service is horrible (except for one very nice bartender that this is not about). My husband and I went in and sat at the bar he ordered a burger I ordered CHICKEN nachos. When they came out the nachos clearly had the other choice, pork, on them. We both tasted to be sure. The bartender tried to argue with us that it was indeed chicken. I sent it back mostly on principle. My husband asked for his to go, paid without looking at the bill (his bad) and even tipped her 20%. I looked at the receipt and she charged us for the nachos. I called and asked her to correct it, she said she would and guess what, she didn't-- shocker. Terrible attitudes and I may not be Bobby Flay but I know pork from chicken. The Good: Bobbi our server was excellent. Very friendly, attentive, and there just when you need her. Smoked onion dip was amazing. Great portion, perfect for sharing (or not!), so rich and creamy, great texture and flavor we could have kept eating more and more of it, it was addictive! Calamari was cooked one million times better than at Maggie's Farm and had solid flavor (The calamari did taste a little frozen, but we ordered it with no peppers this time.) The Spot had several local brews on tap, which made us very happy. As more brewerys open up on the Northshore we hope their list expands to include even more! The Bad: Two quick things here. The fries were once again soggy. The parmesan truffle option we got made them bearable. The trend of soggy fries with this group continues, you know how that saying goes... fool me once shame on you etc.. Since I like my fries crispy I will be staying away from the fries as we continue the Serenity Series. Being new parents and operating on little to no sleep regularly we try to split burritos (Aka our son Philip) care pretty evenly. The night before our visit Day had a much more difficult night with burrito than I did so I planned on taking on more responsibility of him the next day. When it came time to change burrito at the restaurant I volunteered and headed for the men's. I was super disappointed to find out that there was no changing table in the men's bathroom, only in the women's room. Its nice that the spot has a changing table at all but really wish they had considered "The Family". What if I was alone with him, Im sure the restaurant wouldn't be keen on me changing him in the dining room or the women's bathroom. The bathrooms should either be unisex (one stall) or have changing tables available in both bathrooms. The Ugly: Few things here. Apple pie sangria was delicious but the glass was very sticky. They coat the rim and side with caramel sauce that got everywhere. Had to wipe my hands every time I had a sip. The meatloaf was also delicious and cooked really well. It was just super savory, would have loved to see some sweetness in there to balance it off. Maybe a jam or some sweetness in the mushroom gravy? Next up, the M&M bread pudding. We loved that it was cakey, very spot on. Unfortunately, someone went crazy with the chocolate sauce and almost ruined it. The chocolate sauce almost entirely covered up the taste of the bread pudding itself, added a chalky taste to the top layer of the bread pudding. Lastly, the Elderberry martini was said to be very popular, but we found it to have no balance. This gin-based drink was simply overpowering (we are not regular gin drinkers) and once again someone was very heavy handed but this time when pouring the gin. (We realize this wouldnt be an ugly for everyone but buyer beware!) Final Word: The Spot was a much better experience than the first two Serenity group restaurants. We went at 7:00 pm on a Saturday and it was pretty packed. Not too many people were waiting so it would not have taken long but there was a sit at the bar so we took it. The full menu can be served at the bar so it was not a problem. Overall, the place was very family friendly, but not too small-town feeling. It definitely fills a void that Georgetown has left open for a while in towns of sit down dinner spots. The bar had a lot of interesting local beers and the bar tenders seemed pretty adept at making what was asked of them. My Newburyport Belgian white (draft) was $5.50. One unique thing this place has is a sushi chef. Though georgetown doesn't seem like a sushi kind of place, it was being ordered a lot. The sushi chef was in my line of sight (just next to the bar) and I got to watch him work. He never stopped making sushi. It was really cool to watch actually. Every restaurant should have a hipster making sushi in the corner! The California roll was exactly what it should have been. The Spot burger was cooked to perfection and it was a nice touch that you could get a side salad in lieu of fries. Didn't have dessert or an appetizer but they all looked promising. Next time I'm going to get the wild mushroom macaroni and cheese. I still like the Spot, but have had a few disappointments. 1-chicken tacos...they were pretty tasteless. 2-I ordered (takeout) nachos with pulled pork and the pulled pork was plain without any sauce or anything so I didn't eat it. 3-A takeout salad I got during Covid was tiny for the price. A nice, quiet place that is good for a lunch date. The service was excellent and the food was sublime; but the prices left a bit to be desired, and they were a bit high for what you were ordering. Seating seems to be a seat yourself during the day, just wish there was a sign saying such. Food was delicious and a fairly good sized portion. Both me and my boyfriend got the baked mac and cheese, though I went for crispy chicken versus his pulled pork. Mine was creamy and filling, with the added breadcrumb topping a nice touch. The chicken felt like an afterthought, tossed on like they almost didn't remember to add it. My boyfriend's dish was about the same, with the pulled pork mostly draped on like a decoration. Got a soda which was, as expected, a standard affair. Though I liked the mason jar glasses. Overall I would give this place an 8/10. I am new to the area due to a job change. I have been for my lunch break 7 times and I have not been disappointed! From sushi to steak tips they don't miss a beat, but I'm neutral on the pulled pork sandwich (not your traditional BBQ take which was what I was hoping for). I will continue to work my way through the menu as I have been to some of the sister restaurants closer to home, and the ownership generally puts out a good product. My favorite thing about The Spot is The Tammy! She greets me with a smile every visit and knew my soft drink if choice after just one lunch. She is friendly, patient, makes great drinks, and just has good energy. Service is such an underrated part of the dining experience. I go to The Spot because I know my server genuinely cares that I enjoy my experience. As long as she is there, I'll be a customer. Stopped into the spot for lunch - a little pricy, but excellent food. I had the short rib sandwich - at $18 with onion rings it better be good! And it was: tasty tender meat cut thick, sautéed onions, melted cheese on a fresh ciabatta roll with a thick juicy dipping sauce. A pile of thick cut onion rings. And good service. I came in excited that they were open and to try this location. Not too busy as there were 2-3 tables and a couple people at the bar. Jaime R came to me and told me they were open. I mentioned, that I was going to grab my wife. Jamie confirmed a party of two, and when I returned, she pointed to a two top over to the left. I sat with my wife and we had enough time to look at the menu. I assumed Jaime was our server, since she initially greeted me. 12 minutes into waiting, my wife asked if we want to stay, being familiar with Serenitee, I had to eat here. She finally came and asked if we wanted a drink and if we decided on what we were eating, one stop shop... I mentioned I opened TWK and frequented that establishment on a regular basis. She took our orders, my wife ordered a seaweed salad for an appetizer and I wanted the mussels for an appetizer. We also ordered sushi for entrees. 32 minutes after we ordered,with no recognition from our server, we were again contemplating leaving when we finally received all four items. I was annoyed because the whole time we watched as a blonde female wearing a red jersey walked in and out of the kitchen chewing food, our server chatting it up at the bar playing with a water bottle. ( kind of not hygienic, since the part was in her mouth) a bearded guy without a beard net( not a big deal but still a health code violation) chewing food. At this point, I believe Jaime could sense I was annoyed because she did a two bite check. Everything was ok. The mussels were dry and lukewarm, so I did ask for more broth. She returned to let me know it's made fresh and asked if I still wanted it... I'll let you input your sarcastic reply... I believe in the time it takes her to come ask that cook could started making it and she could've came and told me it's coming right out. But no... I declined "Is there anything else?" "No just the check." She returned with the check to let us know "obviously there's no rush on her part" I chuckled and said "OBVIOUSLY " We finished up quickly and rushed out. My friend and I went into The Spot last Sunday, June 2nd. Two bartenders were on duty, one I believe who is the bar manager. Well, we sat for quite a few minutes before either came over. Once we put our drinks in, the two bartenders were more interested in their phones and talking to each other. We had to call over to place our order and get another drink. We ordered the mussels. When they arrived, they were placed in front of us. We had to ask for silverware and plates. Then we had to ask for a bowl to put empty shells in. Another couple came in and sat right next to us and was also ignored for a time. They also had no silverware when their food arrived and had to ask for it. I love the Spot. Tammy who is on Tues, though Saturday is the best!! I will never go in there again on a Sunday. Have no idea how Mondays are! Worst service! Not busy and two bartenders! Sad. read more

Intriguing little place in a small town with little competition for miles. The food is better than any restaurant in Georgetown (although the menu is a little weird - hipstery pub fare with sushi made on the back corner of the bar?), and the bar is well-stocked. A good selection of both beer and spirits, paired with a friendly and knowledgeable staff makes for positive experience each time you go. Trivia night can get aggressive (so trying to keep a conversation going can be difficult), the bar doesn't seat too many, and closing at 11, even on weekends, is a buzzkill. Other than that, an extremely above average bar in a town that doesn't have much else going on. read more

We came here last night with another couple. Loved the atmosphere it was a busy night they have a bar area while you wait to be seated.
