If you haven't visited Randall's Seafood since he took over Cpt Avery's you're missing the boat!!…read more My husband had already been there for crawfish (only place we buy them) but I wanted a tour. We decided to try the frozen soft shell crab to take home and make poboys. Honestly my expectations were low. Boy was i surprised! We picked up Cartozzos poboy bread from Macs Grocery and I'm here to tell you, NOLA got nothing on us! They were amazing. Not that expensive either. We also picked up some dressed rabbit and I smothered it in gravy. I admit I was disappointed it came from China so i probably won't buy it again, but truthfully, it was delicious. Oh, and the crab stuffed mushrooms...delish! Randall's is always friendly, helpful and courteous. They have a super variety of fresh seafood and we highly recommend you pay them a visit. I promise you will find something you like. It's so nice to have a local market that truly appreciates your business!

So whenever I'm passing through, stopping at Billy's Boudin & Cracklin or Randall's Cajun Foods is a must for me. I went to Randall's today. About 5 months ago, I stopped in and the cracklings had clearly been sitting for a while, they were tough. I explained my concern and even offered to pay extra just to have a fresh batch cooked. After going back and forth, they finally made them fresh, and they were exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to today, I called ahead and specifically asked for fresh cracklings. The young man on the phone said okay, no problem. I walk in 5 minutes later and there's already a bag waiting. I asked where they came from and she told me they were cooked that morning. That was an immediate no for me. If I'm spending $21 for a pound, I don't want tough, sitting all day cracklings. Go ahead and put those back. I ended up trying the boudin balls, big mistake. You could tell they had been sitting too. At that point, I didn't even have the energy to go back and forth or ask for a manager. Honestly, it should be a given. This picture is pepper jack boudin ball. Look how dry it is . Needless to say, I won't be back.

I recently had the pleasure (and by pleasure, I mean mild confusion mixed with disappointment) of…read moredining at Podnuhs, where I ordered what was boldly labeled a "large BBQ meat sandwich." Now, when I hear "large," I picture something requiring two hands and a strategy. What I received instead was a bun that looked like it had commitment issues--definitely not large, and barely medium on a good day. When I asked about it, I was informed that they were out of large buns... but were still charging for a large sandwich anyway. Bold business move. Visionary, even. But wait--it gets better. Or worse. Definitely worse. This "BBQ" sandwich came with absolutely no BBQ sauce. None. Not on the sandwich, not in the container, not even a lonely packet hiding in the bag like a last-minute apology. The result? Dry meat performing a dramatic escape from the undersized bun with every bite. It was less a sandwich and more a slow-motion landslide. By the end, I wasn't eating BBQ--I was participating in a meat evacuation drill. Needless to say, Podnuhs has officially lost a customer. On the bright side, BBQ West has gained one--because I like my BBQ sandwiches like I like my promises: actually delivered. Podnuhs, "you have some "splaining to do"! (1 star for the napkin that tried its best)

I came in and ordered 3 dishes. Bangkok Spring Rolls, Panang Curry, and Tom Kha soup…read more The Bangkok spring rolls are the same thing as summer rolls at other thai restaurants. This place is unique from my previous experience in that they used cilantro instead of mint leaves. It was unique and I like trying new things. The peanut sauce which came with it was not that great. It didn't have enough peanut flavor and it was too thin. I assume both issues are caused by the same thing. The parang Curry came and had a good spice level, however it too was thin. This makes dipping the sticky rice less enjoyable. It also had green beans which is unique, but that may be due to the produce of the area it's in. I didn't like it, but I won't fault them for it. This just wasn't my favorite dish. The Tom Kha was the disaster. It is my understanding that Tom Kha is tom yum with coconut milk. As can be seen from the photo, the tom kha emulsion broke and lead to a dirty flavorless broth. On top of that, the mushrooms in the soup had a boiled flavor. Mushroom taste better when they are cooked before adding the broth. This tasted like something that someone learning to cook will make. That's OK at home, but not acceptable for a chef to send out to a paying customer. Some good things are the environment and the service. It's a nice restaurant with a nice staff, however the food wasn't enough to encourage my return.

Then I love to enjoy their warm gooey taste with less mess for clean up in My kitchen! (Stereo on too while baking) "Crazy About Cookies" is the name of the cookie dough Tubs I bought from Neighbors, LLC back in August. They offer snacks and cookie dough fundraising options to help schools, and satisfy everyone's sweet tooth! :-) Neighhors America Favorite Treats supports Fundraising Groups Of: Athletics & Sports, Ministry Church, Spirit, Dance, Cheerleading, Choir, Band, PTO and other Club Fundraisers state wide. My review is for an online order that I placed through My great Nephew's School in Almont Michigan. My Photos attached show how quick and easy it was to use this ready made cookie dough batter from start to finish in an hour. I bought Oatmeal Raisin and MMM candies at $22.00 a tub. I used only a 1/4 of each tub so back in the freezer they are up to year. If refrigerated the Tubs keep up to 6 months in between scooping! I'm a Happy and Satisfied Scooper! Oh My Deeeelicious for any day or month of the year cookie lovers! The manufacturing and distribution employees from Neighbors, LLC have been Mixing batters for 20 years in West Monroe, LA.
