I have been a customer at this Brookshire's location since it moved it's store to the current…read moreaddress. Overall, this store has a better facility as far as a newer building, deli and freezers, etc have been replaced and/or refurbished and the store keeps a 'welcoming' appeal with parking close to the location with adequate and safe lighting inside store and parking lot. The staff is very friendly and greets customers upon arrival to the store since the check-out lines are located directly near both entrance and exit locations! The store is kept clean, well-organized and stock is rotated frequently to keep fresh and 'within' date items readily available. Three of the hardest locations to keep fresh/clean and with attractive displays-- in most grocery stores-- namely-produce, dairy & meats--Are always clean, free of noxious odors, well-organized with items organized well and desirable items present. This store is always moving short-dated items onto 'clearance' areas for quick sale and/or apparently discarded quickly if not sold. Unlike other 'discount' or 'big-box' stores-this store has checkers readily available and are quickly moved from other tasks to check-out lines immediately when needed. Overall, the employees are friendly, helpful and go 'over-and-beyond' to assist with a customer's requests during a shopping trip. The store also provides other services-bill payment, money orders, gift cards, etc - for customers with a friendly and helpful attitude! The store management is visible, easily identified and available when need arises! Needless to say - other than not having services that larger Brookshires locations have (pharmacy, flowers, etc)- this Rayville location is definitely rated a 10 out of 10 in my opinion!

I believe the price was like $29 and you had, two side items. I started out with a Louisiana style gumbo, which was very good and tasty but the star of this show with the steak. While eating the cook came out over to my table and asked how everything was and with my mouth full of tender juicy steak, I could just shake my head and she would just laugh. The steak was so perfectly seasoned and had so much flavor with the perfectly cooked pink center . I normally prefer fillet mignon because there is not much fat and I don't care for fat, but I caught myself not only I say sucking on the little fat pieces but actually eating some of it if it had a little meat on it. As my sides, I picked green beans and Black Eyed Peas and it came with a cornbread muffin which I carried with me and ate in the car on the way home. The cornbread muffin was sweet and cake like so I'm glad I didn't get dessert because this was just nice. Yes yes yes a nice steak, and it brought all the Texan out in me. I often grab a fish plate during lunch and it is amazing. They also have really good mashed potato's and Mac and cheese. However, some of the attitudes (that seem to be pretty common amongst West Monroe) are less to be desired. I'm not perfect at customer service myself, but was upset when the pharmacy threw my prescription in front of me after I had asked for the correct one. They had also snapped that I need to "give them a second" and seemed pretty annoyed with me overall.
