We decided to come back another day to actually dine in and try the food. There was a lady in the dining area was the server, but it seemed like she couldn't really speak English, so we ended up waiting for a while for the guy at the cashier to come take our order. The price is definitely on the pricier side. I forgot to take a picture of the menu, but for what we ordered, I felt like the portions were pretty small for the price. My husband got 2 fajitas and 2 lengua tacos, while I got the steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas. My fajitas were decent, and I'll give them that for having fresh vegetables, but the meat was cut into such small pieces that it kind of felt like scraps. We're not Mexican, so I can't really speak on how authentic it is, but my husband's friends actually stopped by right after us, tried the food, and said pretty much the same thing! I actually love the grocery store itself. It's small but has SO much stuff, including things you wouldn't expect, and their fresh products are great. The only other thing I didn't really like was the checkout situation. Nobody came by to check on us when we were done eating, so we had to wait in the regular grocery checkout line to pay. Since we weren't holding any groceries, a bunch of people kept cutting in front of us without asking. I really hope they can improve this part because it was pretty frustrating. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place for Mexican groceries. The food was good, but I don't think I'd come back specifically to dine in.

I am just so incredibly disappointed with this gift for my mother! If you're looking for a true south Louisiana Dobasche cake, go somewhere else.

Today I opted for the chicken with artichoke and spinach with a side of roasted potatoes and bok choy. The portion size is definitely suitable for one and possibly even two. So whenever I'm passing through, stopping at Billy's Boudin & Cracklin or Randall's Cajun Foods is a must for me. I went to Randall's today. About 5 months ago, I stopped in and the cracklings had clearly been sitting for a while, they were tough. I explained my concern and even offered to pay extra just to have a fresh batch cooked. After going back and forth, they finally made them fresh, and they were exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to today, I called ahead and specifically asked for fresh cracklings. The young man on the phone said okay, no problem. I walk in 5 minutes later and there's already a bag waiting. I asked where they came from and she told me they were cooked that morning. That was an immediate no for me. If I'm spending $21 for a pound, I don't want tough, sitting all day cracklings. Go ahead and put those back. I ended up trying the boudin balls, big mistake. You could tell they had been sitting too. At that point, I didn't even have the energy to go back and forth or ask for a manager. Honestly, it should be a given. This picture is pepper jack boudin ball. Look how dry it is . Needless to say, I won't be back.
