I went for a gel manicure today with Tee (Tamira). it was a disaster from the start. she had a hard time taking off my precious gel, did not do my cuticle, her own nails were 5" long I don't even know how she can do nails. the way she was holding a nail file you can see this was her first time doing nails. than when the polishing came I had nail polish on every nail on my skin, she said we're finished without even taking off the extra polish. this was the sloppiest, messiest, nastiest , fastest manicure I have ever done! we love harrahs and have been to the spa many times for other services but this gel manicure was on another level bad & for $60! absolutely nightmare and very unexperienced lady and didn't look like she wanted to be there at all! horrible experience very upset I even had to pay for this crap because now I need to go & redo my nails I can't walk around like that. read more

Amazing massage and spa day at Harrah's! The spa area is newly renovated and it's gorgeous. I had never been to Harrah's before, but I felt like I was instantly transported to Las Vegas. I'll definitely be back soon! The women's section had a nice soaking tub/jacuzzi filled with saltwater and the depth was 3'6" which was really unexpected and cozy! My colleague and I had this section all to ourselves on a Sunday! There is also a cedar sauna and a steam room that smells like essential oils! Lemon water and cold towels are plentiful, and there are tons of lockers for safekeeping your stuff. They give you comfy robes and waterproof sandals to change into. I highly recommend booking a massage with Ciera. I received an 80 minute treatment and did not want it to end! From start to finish, the experience was filled with so many meaningful details - hot towels, a mini foot massage, and even hot stones (even though I didn't book a hot stone massage, Ciera incorporated these into my treatment!). Ciera paid attention to what I wanted - when I asked her to focus on my back and upper body, she did exactly that, and it was blissful. She also used the perfect pressure (I asked for light - medium and it was just right!) I felt so relaxed and could have taken a nap on the massage table afterwards, that's how incredible it was. The renovated spa is now open, and it's a vast improvement over the previous space and decor. The new entrance is decidedly cheerful, with a floor-to-ceiling wall/window showcasing the outside world, and that cheerfulness seems to have improved things tremendously at the front check-in desk, where, in the past, the attendants, on a good day, were dour at best. On this visit, I was given a warm greeting, and superb customer service, by Jamie, at the front desk. Then I was lucky enough to get Amalia for my 20-minute "target massage." She was fabulous! Great pressure and focus. I felt better after a short time with her than I have after massages that were three times as long. Harrah's is lucky to have her! I wasn't able to schedule a pedicure with Belin, since I was there on her days off, but I was happy to learn that she is still with The Spa at Harrah's. She too is great at her work, and I would highly recommend her as well. Bottom line: The new Spa at Harrah's is definitely worth a visit even if you have been disappointed by the spa's offerings in the past. read more

Hands-down the best message I've ever had. My husband and I (who live in Los Angeles) went to Harrah's for our anniversary. We spent one day as our Spa-Day, and it was worth every penny. The facilities are beautiful and spectacular. And again- best message ever. Tried out the newly renovated spa at harrahs! It's definitely a huge upgrade. The entrance is bright and spacious. They have a big nail salon and blow out room for the girls and a cute little barber shop room for the guys. The vanity area is brightly lit and very clean. The lockers have two hangers, a robe, and slippers. The amenities include salt water room (jacuzzi) with light dimmers and lounge chairs. When I went I actually had the whole place to myself so it was so nice. I went two hours before my massage and enjoyed the jacuzzi (clothing optional but I wore my bathing suit) and read magazines in the room. They also have a dry sauna and steam room. I used the dry sauna. They have wet hand towels outside the sauna as well. Lots of fresh towels everywhere. They have showers as well with shampoo conditioner and body wash. Then I went into the lounge and relaxed with some Strawberry lemon mint water and an apple. Not all the waters are fresh or cold so I found the one that was the freshest. Massage was great! Got a 50 min full body massage with hot stones upgrade (totally worth it) for $150 plus tip. Reason for giving them 4 stars: Their old spa was actually more zen. I felt like everything was a little too brightly lit and there wasn't enough water falls and candles or dim lighting to really keep the entire spa feeling calming and relaxed. I would've liked to see more visually relaxing pieces in the rooms and maybe some subtle lighting to help with the calming aspect of a spa. Robes could be softer and fluffier as well. Also the snacks and drinks were very minimal. I would appreciate more of a selection on drinks and fruits/snacks. Also, receptionist could be friendlier. Everyone else was very nice. I'm definitely coming back. It's a short trip from home - the perfect little getaway. Plus the husband likes to put me in the spa so I don't bother him for a few hours and he can freely play lol. I don't mind that at all! But again if the atmosphere was more to my liking I would've stayed longer. Oh! Also! I think they should open earlier and close later. 9-6 is too short. read more

I used to belong to Massage Envy where I get massages and facials on alternating months. After experiencing Harrah's Spa, what a world of difference!!! I came out feeling like cloud 9, wish I had time to enjoy the amenities, wish I could lounge some more, I didn't want to leave! Now that's a spa, resort grade!!! I got a hot stone massage and Lynn was fantastic. Her hands were magical, sensational, and rejuvenating! I didn't want it to end! I would ask for Lynn again. She used the perfect level of pressure on me. I have also gotten an organic customized facial. Robin was wonderfully gentle; her hands were soothing, she makes these circular massaging motions on my face; they felt subdued and faint. Whatever she used, or however she gently stroked my face, I have never looked or felt better immediately after a facial. My face felt more taut, I looked more alert and younger. I was really impressed! It does cost a lot more money to go to a spa like Harrah's. But I feel that it was worth feeling that great afterwards. I think I should pamper myself once a year, more when I can afford it and as I get older. And a spa treatment makes a wonderful holiday or birthday gift to my dear family and friends. Next time I go, I shall make time to utilize the steam room, the sauna, and the salt water bath. I think they complement a massage by relaxing and detoxing muscles. I shall also take time to shower, to wash off the massage oil. Allot extra time so the whole experience allows you to rejuvenate ! Harrah's recently renovated their spa. I have mixed feelings about this place, let's start with the good. I booked a spa pedicure, the lady who did my pedicure was spectacular, great technique, great service, great selection of colors, the pedicure felt wonderful, no complaints there. But the schedule and checking in process at the front desk was awful! I showed up 30 minutes before the appointment like they requested, and was told to wait, and wait, and wait... there was only 2 guests in line before me trying to settle their bill, but somehow that took 10 minutes. When I'm finally checked in, I was told I can wait in the lobby or in the quiet room, of course I opted for the quiet room because there were some kids running around in the lobby (this is not what I come to the spa for). I asked how to get to the quiet room, and she said someone has to take you there. 10 minutes later, I'm still standing in the lobby. On my way out, they told me "oh by the way you can use all our facilities if you booked any appointments." On my way out, leaving the hotel, nobody bothered to tell me this when I was booking the appointment in the morning. SMH. Then when my credit card charges came in, there was an additional $10 that was not on my receipt. I called the spa and found out that the girl who checked me in charged me for a bottle of nail polish that I did not purchase! They were apologetic and cancelled the charge, but still, this is not the kind of hassle that I appreciate going through, especially for a spa where I'm supposed to be relaxing. We did a 50mins couples massages, the rooms were separated from males and females Which is good but I was hoping the couples room we'll be in the same room. Anyways, the experience was okay. I was quiet disappointed of my therapist! I choose a male masseuse and I had high expectations since it was in a high end spa but it did not meet my expectations. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. I was given an option if I would like to have my own locker and a robe. As soon as I came inside the room, the therapist seemed attentive and asking me questions if there's a specific what/which part of my body that I would like more attention and work done. I am also a therapist so I am expecting him doing what I am expecting to give and receive from my own clientele but I am disappointed. My major muscle areas were not touch and not given the proper massage that I am expecting. It's not a holistic healing massage but more of just a relaxing massage. It's just like a touch in my skin, it was quiet okay but not what I am expecting. On the other hand, I enjoyed the salt bath a lot! It's a plus that I was by myself too and nobody else was there. I owned the whole salt bath all to myself. It was sooo relaxing just soaking myself in it, relaxing and enjoying the steaming hot tub naked after a good relaxing massage. The whole place is spotless clean, huge, fancy, classy, and elegant. The common waiting room area is big too, you can enjoy drinking their complimentary coffee while waiting for your partner to be done. A little disappointed with the service. I stayed at the hotel for two days and they are renovating the pool, which meant, no pool, no spa :( And you'd think that they would have a jacuzzi in the spa, but nothing and they expect you to pay $25 to use the facility? Why? when there is nothing to use in it, they just offer a steam room and a broken sauna. I decided to use the gym and after use the sauna and asked an attendant to see why it wasn't working, she called a tech to come and look at it. This tech was a heaver set female hispanic lady. She looked at me, didn't say hello - but said "are you a member?" in this suspicious voice like I was sneaking into the gym. Then she went on saying "are you having treatments today?", in her snappy rude voice. I told her I was a guest and I just finished my workout and wanted to step into the sauna before I go back upstairs. She didn't stop, she kept looking at me like I was a criminal. I felt so uncomfortable because she hung around the area just looking at me up and down like I didn't belong there. I have worked 4 years in a 4 star resort that had a spa, and never once would someone be treated like that. Beware though if you dont know the salt water pool will turn your jewelry dark. You must clean your jewelry when you get home. Other then that it was so invigorating and relaxing. My Never better Massage with Josh, was not never better. I got a lot of toe and finger rubbing more than muscle massage. I did not get the hot rocks and I paid for an extra 20 minutes for target massage of my neck. Which during the full body massage he never touched my neck, until the targeted 20 minutes and then he rubbed gently on my shoulder blades. I get massages monthly and this was not the never was better. Sarah was the best customer service agent I have ever met., She should run the casino. I've been to this spa twice and really like it. The staff is professional, glad to help and some are downright personable and friendly. They were able to provide everything I needed (and forgot). I don't splurge on a lot of things for myself but a trip to the spa is something that my friends and I have enjoyed for years now. From cruise ships to Vegas the massage, facials and pedicure that I got here were top notch! It could only be better if they had a private indoor hot tub available to the spa patrons in addition to their beautiful outdoor facilities that all hotel guests can enjoy. She was really good and pay attention to what I asked. I told her I had sunburn so if she could be light in those areas. And she was. She also got some after sun lotion to put on and gave me some after to take with me! I'm not really too expressive in my massages as far as letting them know about pressure but I wouldn't even need to with Armany, it seemed like she knew how much pressure my body could handle. If I come back to the Harrah's I will definitely want to see her again. So my boyfriend treated me to a surprise spa day here this weekend and it was phenomenal. Excellent service, great amenities, beautiful atmosphere. The whole package! I had an early massage appointment because of checkout so I decided to go in early to take advantage of the spa. Lily (a sweetheart) walked me back and gave me the tour. I was constantly seeing her throughout my visit and was able to help me with anything I needed. Carol, my masseuse, was very gentle and sweet and walked me through everything since this was to be my first massage ever! The salt bath is amazing! The steam room was so relaxing. The quiet room was probably my favorite. Just sit back, cuddle up in a super soft blanket while drinking my tea. They had fruit basket throughout and complimentary coffee, tea and water. Really? You messed up! After speaking with an incompetent receptionist (Jesse) and 2 managers, I finally got my services comped and a new appointment. As for the service the best part was the free OJ. I got an express pedicure, and believe me it was express, 21 minutes total, and she frequently paused to talk. Polish selection is only OPI and kept along a shelf that is place in an area that is ill-lit. I had to walk back and forth to a lamp in the corner, it took me 3 minutes of my 21 minute pedicure just to find a polish. She talked crap about Vietnamese people and their salons the whole time, going on and on about cheap products and unsanitary conditions, antecedent " I don't know how my nail lady in DB makes any money, the price of her spa manicure-pedicure is less than 2/3 of the price of the express pedicure here, and last almost twice the amount of time as yours." Leah at Spa att Harrah's did not clip cuticles very well at all, saying it was her technique, pfft. Polish was sloppy all over my cuticles, not hard since there was so much left .She did not clean the skin underneath or on the sides of my toenails. Oh and also missed the sides while polishing. If she didn't use "brand" products nothing would last. The pedicure job on my husband was even worse, it looks like she just trimmed his toenails, terrible buff(not even shiny), and no extra massage, she just put on extra lotion then wiped it off, I will never return. Next time I'll have the hotel exchange my comps at the spa for additional food comps. She's lucky I even gave her that 8 dollar tip, because she used products that smelled nice and freely shared the name and brand, so that i may buy these and take them to my girls at luxury nail in DB read more

I go to Harrah's very frequently, so figured I'd try the spa. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. They are extremely overpriced...I'm an avid spa-goer and those prices are Beverly Hills or downtown Manhattan, NY prices....crazy for an average place out in the boondocks. Got a pedicure on 6/20 the pedicurist was great, I went out that night and there was a small chip in the paint. The next day 6/21 at 11:15am I went in to see if they could fix it really quickly or even give me the polish so I could do it myself. I came in today to relax and get a massage. I was greeted very kindly and genuinely by Sarah at the front desk and got my locker for the day. I hung out for a bit in the steam room and relaxation room before my massage. My massage was done by Lynn and it was very good. She focused just enough time on my trouble areas while still leaving time to give me a full body massage. She is able to find knots and tension areas very well. She had excellent pressure and never let up too much when I said "just a little less." I left feeling very well massaged with my trouble areas much looser and less painful. I stayed in the spa for a bit to use the facilities as well and Hannah, the wonderful spa attendant was so kind and helpful and kept the place looking great. She even checked on me while I was in the salt bath to see if I needed anything. Overall it was an excellent experience and I will definitely return again! read more

I had an evening massage booked - full body. I was excited and couldn't have needed it more after a long work week. When I arrived I was greeted warmly at the front desk and escorted to the treatment area right away. The attendant was cheerful and friendly. The facility was absolutely beautiful - I was told it was recently remodeled. My service was with Sherrie - and angel sent from heaven to relieve the tension in my neck and shoulders. She worked her magic with a perfect level of pressure for me. She focused on my problem areas and I left feeling better and more relaxed than I had in a long time. After my massage, I peeked at the dry and steam saunas (just had my hair done) and considered a dip in the salt bath. After opening the door, I saw that there was a group of ladies that had kinda taken over the whole area and were too noisy. They looked at me like I was the new girl at school intruding at their lunch table, so I opted against that too. I continued my experience in the Relaxation Room with a cozy blanket and a fashion magazine. My only complaint was that the loud voices of the mean girls in the salt bath could be heard down the halls. I would've appreciated a more serene and quiet place to finish my treatment. But, overall, I was a happy camper. I would have liked to try the salt bath though. Maybe on the next visit. I'll definitely come back and look forward to trying other treatments. read more

They renovated this spa and it's nice but the lighting is not appropriate for a spa in the locker/resting area. I didn't see any cucumber water or fruits like other places normally have. I called to scheduled an appointment but first I asked if they had any specials for the month of February and the receptionist Jenna said to me in a rude attitude "what specials?!" And again I asked her do you guys have any specials for this month? Went there for the first time yesterday and was impressed by the experience. Everyone was very nice and Dara the therapist asked all the right questions and seemed to genuinely care that I enjoyed my treatment. The locker room attendants were super nice and were always checking to see if I needed anything. There is a pretty good gym and there is a sauna and steam. One has to go outside to use the whirlpool but that was fine because the pool area is very nice. My only complaint was that the snacks in the spa were apples and oranges; it would have nice to have had a granola bar to munch on. Also I wanted lunch and I had to put my clothes on and go out into the casino to get some food to take back which was not an attractive site. Perhaps a simple spa menu would be nice. read more

I have to share this because I want to warn you. Aricella (spelling might be off), a massage therapist (and I use that term loosely), at Harrah's So Cal Spa, was so harsh, so rough, she was working me like a piece of meat on a grill. I could not relax one minute. I told her it hurt, and she kept going. Then she did some odd thing - she massaged my jaw. SO HARD that now my face is swollen, and, I'm on my way to the urgent care because a build up of what I think to be a fluid mass is under my neck, and my jaw is super sore. I've iced, taken advil for 2 days now and nothing helps. I sent them pictures as directed, and of course, no response. The evening of the "rough up", my neck was hurting so bad I couldn't sleep. The steam room was broken, then fixed, but while it was broken, I got to see just how dirty and scummy the walls were. No fruit, nor spa treats you find at all other spas. I am a spa person, I go every month, and I have NEVER experienced such an awful massage as I had that day. I will never book a spa here at Harrah's again. If you're going to Harrah's go for the lazy river, adult pool (when there isn't a volleyball game going on), and go for the casino & your total reward points. Stay clear of this place they call a "spa". Such a sad thing. I have to spend my vacation in an ER. read more

I love coming here, I have been coming for just over a year and have always received excellent service (even during their renovations). I have had massages, hair blow out/style, paraffin wax leg/foot treatment and pedicure. Every service has been wonderful and the staff have always been pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I go once every other month for a massage and have always had Lin work on me. She is GREAT! I stopped going to other spas and just plan my spa visit into a monthly visit to Harrah's. The resort altogether is wonderful...the sauna is great to sit in after a wonderful massage and sip on fruit infused water they provide. This is my monthly Mom treat to myself! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! STOLEN WATCH! I do not recommend the Harrah's Hotel and Spa to anyone. I cannot begin to describe how disappointed I am with service and way I was treated at the Harrah's Hotel over July 29, 2012. My $4,000 Tag Heuer watch was stolen from me while my wife and I were at the spa celebrating her birthday! When I came out of my massage, I couldn't open my locker and the attendant who was there gave me a suspicious response saying he reprogrammed the locks. Then when I was putting on my things I noticed my watch was missing! So I went back to the attendant and he told me he saw a white guy open my locker...hmmm...1) How would he know it was my locker? 2) Why would he reprogram my lock without permission 3) I had my watch in my locker before I went in and he was the only one who opened it...sounds very suspicious! I told the manager what the attendant said to me and the manager was very rude and sent me in circles with whom to talk to about my situation with. They offered no sympathy for my situation and they ended up telling me to take it up with a 3rd party claims department. It took quite a few days for the Claims Department to return my multiple phone calls/emails and when they finally did they told me my claim was denied! I asked to see the final investigation report and video surveillance footage of me at the hotel and wearing the watch before entering the spa but they refused to give it to me. The situation and the way it was handled by the staff ruined my wife's birthday weekend and many weeks to follow in trying to fight this hotel and their claims department to receive the refund for the total amount of my stolen watch. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if you happen to stay here, keep your guard up all the time! read more

I visited while the spa was undergoing a renovation however this has nothing to do with the problems I encountered. The spa itself was beautiful, sauna, steam room, beautiful relaxation room, nice changing room and showers. I had probably the worse massage I've ever had, it was very disappointing because this was my Mother's Day gift from my husband. I've worked at two resort and spas so I have had my fair share of massages and this was a little more than someone rubbing suntan lotion on you. It was not relaxing, and when I asked for more pressure the therapist seemed to be bothered that I asked. Towards the end of the massage it seemed to get a little better but I was just so disappointed to have my husband spend $150 on a massage and me not enjoy it. I never told my husband how bad the massage was because I didn't want him to be upset. We will probably return to this hotel but I doubt I'll get a massage here again. read more
