I feel that way about 99% of the things on menu I have tried. I cook and make cheesecake. their cheesecake is so good id rather buy it than make my own. saved me the trouble and its old fashioned delicious not the kind you find at most places who dont know how to make real cheesecake and its so soft it falls over on the plate mush. the pastrami sandwich only place I could find even comes close are very famous restaurants in Manhattan. burgers are delicious especially on the cinnamon bun. cakes are pretty good nice and moist. home made not dried out like so many places. ribs are great. the chocolate pancakes at breakfast are the best ever. even their oatmeal with sugar honey and cinnamon is sooo good. I wish they had breakfast during the week I would go there instead of Cracker Barrel every time. and their pizza I love it love it. a place that is not an Italian pizza ristorante that actually knows how to make sauce. is a rarity especially in these parts. really good cheese, nice pizza dough and crust. mmmm. going to pick it up now

July 17, 2025 Well I…read morehesitate to share this review because their Thursday night Steak night is bonkers already! lol!! I've been to this restaurant numerous times, but it was my first time trying steak night this past Thursday my husbands brother was in town so we thought we would take him to the Mckeansburg Hotel. He was there in the past and ordered scallops. I couldn't stop talking about how delicious they were. We opted to sit at the bar and got prompt and friendly service from the owner bartender, Kevin and our server and I'm very sorry. I did not recall her name but she gave very good service and I know that she was extremely busy even being so busy, she was very efficient and polite . I opted to get the strip steak. It is 9 ounces and I ordered it medium in addition to the strip steak. You also get a soup or salad +2 side dishes and homemade fresh baked bread. I heard through the grapevine that the owner comes in at 3 AM and bakes the bread for the restaurant . It has a very pleasant oniony savory flavor. My steak was cooked to perfection and was only $12.95. My brother-in-law law ordered a steak that had onions and mushrooms and my husband ordered the steak with Cajun seasoning. I believe in a blue cheese crown that he absolutely loved. I think those steaks may have been a couple dollars extra but still the price was phenomenal. I would highly recommend steak night. You should consider making a reservation if you want to sit in the dining room all the board tables were already reserved when we arrived, but luckily we were able to find three seats at the bar, but we also went very early. The Mckeansburg is a charming restaurant in the beautiful countryside and it is a well run business most of the times when I go to Mckeansburg, I tend to order the thin sliced roast beef french dip with their delicious creamy horseradish sauce, but for the same price I could have steak on steak night, so I had to try it! It is their specialty and did not disappoint!! I can see what all the excitement is about. I'll be back to this quaint lovely hotel restaurant soon. It's so homey and inviting. The food and prices can't be beat!

Packed but not in a horribly crowded way and we got our drinks and food in good timing. Food was excellent from potato skins appetizer, village burger, french dip and all the way to the rice pudding dessert which I normally only eat hot but it came cold and was perfect! The entire staff we encountered was very friendly and we will be back!

Everything on the menu sounded really good - our party of three opted for the "special" stuffed shells / then off the menu the 8 oz filet and the Delmonico steak w crab topping . The Delmonico steak was cooked properly but was so tough it wasn't edible . It was literally the worst steak - couldn't even cut it - we did point it out to the waitress and she said "my manager is sorry" - to be fair the waitress asked if my husband wanted another steak but by that time the steak was such a turn-off he no longer wanted a steak - other than that - no other compensation so we took it for our dog since we were paying 39.00 for it . The rest of the food was good / nothing great but adequate . I ordered a piece of carrot cake for dessert that was absolutely dried out / tasteless and greasy frosting - just the worst cake I've ever experienced- I did have them take that off my bill . What was a very nice experience and the best part of the whole visit was our super friendly and pro-active waitress - she did a fantastic job ! We appreciated her .
