Went there in January with a party of 7. We were told we would be seated on the patio which was heated. Ok, neat! What we were not told was they enclose this patio with what appeared to be a makeshift enclosure. It was a bit chilly to say the least. When we said something about it we were told " you knew you would be on the heated patio". They just failed to mention the arctic draft that pulled through the joint. Anyhow, we did order and the food was sub par to say the least. Of course our bill reflected one of a gourmet restaurant but I ensure you, it wasn't even close! I'm not even going to mention the guy next to us that they served way too much alcohol! The guy kept knocking stuff off of the table and when he finally left his shirt was half off. Note: we had our three children with us too. So that was an interesting conversation to say the least. The one part I did absolutely love about the restaurant was the drive to and from. The views of Sedona are absolutely stunning on the way, especially at sunset! No, I'm not giving credit to the restaurant for this either! Go to McDonald's first then drive up to watch the sunset. We went there by recommendation! The New Years buffet was terrible, dry Salmon, no lobster sauce to see! The Beef Burgandy was your average beef stew. A lot hard dry pieces. The Chicken, was very small pieces Mostly, thighs and drum sticks! The hostess did come by and ask us how it was and not to ruin the night plus dinner we said fine! I should have been honest! The people in the back of us were not as nice but they were polite and told the waitresses it was poor and not worth the charged price! First time back since 20 years ago when my husband proposed to me. Loved the new look and the food came fast, hot, fresh and delicious!!! The staff are professional and very pleasant. While we were there we actually ran into 2 other couples that we knew and had not seen for awhile so it made this a very special place once again...I'm glad I made reservations because the place filled up very quickly. Pricey , $125 + tip for 3 adults, service was friendly but unbelievably slow. My daughter , son- in -law and I the visited this lovely restaurant with a beautiful view on a Thursday evening in June . It was such a lovely day we choose to sit outside on the deck . Our waitress quickly took our drink orders but they were a very long time coming. The weather and the view made the wait more pleasant but it is hard to understand why the service was so slow since there seemed to be more wait staff than customers. One drink was totally messed up and had to be sent back but the fresh Blackberry Moscow Mule was excellent .We shared two appetizers , both the chicken quesadilla and the fried green beans were really good . . Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was more than disappointing. The steak my son-in-law had was tasteless and tough. My daughter's shrimp dish was miserly with the shrimp and needed seasoning. I had a chicken dish which could barely be rated mediocre. The entrees were certainly not worth the cost. That was sad because the evening was so enjoyable otherwise. This restaurant had just reopened after the Covid-19 shut down , hopefully they have been able to get a better chef . I am not sure that we will try again to find out . read more

My wife and I had an outstanding experience at Summit View 2 weeks ago. I had planned a Baby Moon in the area and reached out to the restaurant ahead of time via their web form. Stephanie reached out to me within a few hours and agreed to help me plan a special dinner! She sat us at a table that was near the window, prepared a babymoon mocktails menu, and she even got us flowers that we were able to take home. We had a fantastic meal tonight! I can't wait to go back! Everyone's meal was delicious, including the appetizer and salads. Our waitress, Angel, was phenomenal. She came around to check on us often, as did other servers. There was a nice crowd, too. I had the Black Forest Filet. My husband had the Peruvian seafood, which was part of the featured monthly menu and was out of this world! Our son had Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. Like I said, everything was perfect! Was attending as part of the soft opening. The food was very good, the iconic salad bar is still a member of the new family. It is a downsized version, but it has all of the staples, Missing are the soups and breads. The décor is amazing, tiled throughout, walls painted. ceiling painted. The bar area is very welcoming. They even have a firewall between the upper dining area and bar area. Nice touch. Our food was prepared very good. We enjoyed our meal. This was their soft opening and it is where they get to fix their mistakes and address issues.. Very disappointing, overpriced menu, low quality. Menu description is not what is served. Chicken Cordon Rouge grilled chicken breast topped with lump crabmeat, fresh asparagus & melted swiss cheese 21.95 they served a frozen boneless chicken breast topped with a 90% bread filled (crabcake) with 3 asparagus and a piece of deli sliced swiss cheese. Horrible. The roll was obviously previously frozen and it was cracked and not fresh at all. When the owner was notified email a day after the visit, she did not apologize or try to make it right, only stated to please visit us again! No Way. Ok, I have not been here in decades but I looked at the website and it looks like they did a really nice job on remodeling the inside. I got there and loved the inside so that part was great. Now onto the food and the bad part. The food was terrible. As I start a lot of my reviews, money is never an issue with me. I go to Steak on the Main in Northeast Maryland several times a year and get the filet/crabmeat/lobster tail dinner for $120. So with that said, I started with the crab dip. Tons of cheese that was hard as a rock on top and it overwhelmed the crab meat. But even the crab meat mixed wasn't very good. Now to the big disappointment, my Prime Rib. The worse piece of prime rib I have had in many years. I've been cooking since I was 5 years old and I know my food. There's no way the prime rib I had today was made fresh today. First of all, it was discolored and folding up on the plate when they brought it out, which tells me it was reheated either in the oven or a microwave. It was also very tough and the taste was awful even with the Au Jus sauce and salt. Now, I did have a chance to speak with the owner and she was a very nice lady. And I always give places 2 or 3 chances so I will come back and try something else on the menu but I really hope they take this review seriously because it was the worst prime rib dinner I've had in many years. read more

We hadn't been here in a couple of years. Very nice experience. The ahi tuna was wrapped in seaweed before seared, wonderful idea. Best I ever had, despite always getting it when available at other restaurants. I had Jaegerschnitzel which was pork not veal and was told this beforehand. It was thick and juicy. The sauce perhaps could have used some cream but excellent nonetheless. My wife's dinner was chicken with the most wonderful topping, somewhat similar to Oscar but regardless fantastic. Wings, Cheesesteaks, etc. On those occasions My family and I waited an extra long time (over 1 hour on last visit) for the food to be served. Looking about the restaurant it was not crowded at all. No wait upon arrival. Received menus and notice how pricey the place is. I ordered crab cakes, mashed potatoes and asparagus $24.95. Boyfriend had a Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara for $21.95. My crab cakes were ok. They were done nicely but couldn't really taste the crabmeat. The mashed potatoes were awful, they did not taste like potatoes, only flavor was of garlic. The asparagus was not done enough, as it was pretty hard and woody. Boyfriends carbonara tasted like cornstarch. NO flavor. Also tasted like shrimp were boiled and thrown in after. Salad bar was same as prior restaurant under old owners. Pretty disappointed with our food and the price was outrageous for less than mediocre food. We won't be back. I would expect for these prices there would be an experienced cook. Better up your game. My advice, don't get the carbonara or the crab cakes. Not exactly happy with the fact that they charged us 20% gratuity on Thanksgiving Day for a buffet, Turkey and Ham were spiral, my 91yr old father who drinks miller lite was told he could not purchase a pitcher of beer, one of the waitresses got him a pitcher as she was from the old Summit View resturant staff and remembered him as a long time customer. All in all, the restaurant looks great with painted ceiling tiles, fire place, new floors and wood work, but the food was just par, the bartender was nice and helpful. I may give them one more try to impress and will update on Yelp. read more

I've eaten here four times since the new place opened up. I ate here twice end of 2019 and once early 2020. Then once since COVID. I am finished and won't give it another chance. Food is overpriced and just average. Roast beef sandwich - looked like it should have been a french dip by the description. It was beef on a hoagie roll. Nothing special at all - totally average. Fish special was dried out and overcooked. I'm don't won't be back. Service was terrible. Could not even get someone to look at us to get a drink order in for first 15 minutes after being seated. Couldn't get a second drink. We finished the meal and waitress asked if we wanted another drink. No thanks. I've eaten here in the past and had bad, overcooked tough steak. Poor service. The place was almost empty yet nobody bothered to come over and greet us or get us a drink when we were seated. Don't even bother. read more

On March 31, 2022 friends of ours took my husband and I to the Summit View restaurant to celebrate his retirement. It was the worst meal and service we ever experienced in any restaurant. Don't order stuffed shrimp. You get a small piece of shrimp hidden inside a round ball of stuffing with a small bit of crabmeat. The oven baked seafood dish was basically muscles floating in a cream sauce. He said he couldn't find any shrimp or scallops in the entire dish. The waitress forgot to bring numerous items to the table, ignored our request to put the sauce on the side, and put the wrong dressing on two of the salads. The only thing she did remember was to keep pushing the red velvet cake. So after she highly recommended the red velvet cake numerous times, we each ordered a piece. After we took one bite we realized the cake was so stale we couldn't eat it and left the rest of the cake on the plate. The dessert is my favorite part of the meal, so you know it had to be really bad for me not to eat it and leave it behind. (Something I've never done before). When she brought us the check, she told us She just assumed he'd want another coffee so she added an extra one to the bill. At that point he did not want anything else. Even though he never ordered another cup of coffee, the charge was never taken off the bill. I was so upset because I suggested the place and our friends paid for the meal. So when I got home I called the manager and explained how horrible the food and service was that evening. She became very very defensive and rude and did not want to be bothered listening to my concerns and, would you believe, SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE! What an unprofessional manager! Very updated, and friendly staff. Excellent food and salad bar is still available. The only difference is the bread will be brought to the table and it is either a choice of the salad bar or a soup. I purposefully created a Yelp account for the purpose of sharing how bad our experience was. I visited Summit View with my parents and my fiance for a birthday dinner. The restaurant was busy at first but quickly cleared out. Our waitress took a while to take our order but we figured that was because of how busy they were at the moment. We ordered soup, an appetizer, and entrees. The soup(which was the shining star of the meal) took about 45 minutes to arrive to our table(keep in mind there were no more than 5 tables occupied at this time). Our appetizers arrived no earlier than 30 minutes later (after the table behind us who arrived 30 minutes after we placed our order). We then had to flag down our server because we barely saw her most of the time there, and asked how long our food would be. She had no idea and needed to ask the kitchen. She then returns and says "it's next up". After waiting another 20 minutes our food finally arrives. The food was poor, definitely not worth the higher priced menu. All the food was luke-warm at best and honestly had no flavor. Even the steak my father ordered had no flavor and was slightly warm at arrival. We expressed our concern that the food was average and luke-warm however the (I believe) manager just said "oh okay, I'm sorry". The quickest service and most time we saw our server was when she was handling our, in my opinion, "way overpriced for the service and food quality" bill. The whole process took no longer than 5 minutes, which was surprising because we were there for over 2 hours, only saw her 3 times, and only spent about 15 minutes to eat the tasteless food. Would not visit this place again and advise others to avoid this place unless they lower their prices or hire new cooking/waiting staff. Our family of 7 ate there the Saturday between the holidays. The service was great, but some of the food was not. Stay away from the brussels sprouts and do not order the grilled salmon! My daughter's salmon ($24.95) was thin and dry. We should have sent it and the vegetables back. Lesson learned for sure. I've never had worse brussels sprouts! read more
