Please follow these two steps: Step 1: Bring $200,000 to $1 million and have fun at the shop. Buy whatever looks likely to give you a moment of hedonic pleasure by intimidating your guests. Step 2: Seek atonement for your life of materialism by giving all your money to the Alzheimer's Association and volunteering at the Hagadera refugee camp. If, on the other hand, you are a true music lover who is passionate about the quality of sound reproduction, just follow these six easy steps to decide what to do about the existence of The Source AV: Step #1: Decide whether it is wise to spend a month's salary to hear toe-curlingly great audio at home. If so, go to step 2. Step 2: make a large donation to Doctors Without Borders. That makes it morally acceptable to spend a month's salary on audio equipment. Third: read Floyd Toole's book "Sound Reproduction." That makes you cognitively prepared to ruminate efficiently about the trade-offs you will face when you seek wonderful loudspeakers that cost less than $50,000 per pair. Fourth (this may surprise some readers): Go to Magnolia in Torrance with a friend (you need a friend to monitor what your score is for different speakers when your blindfold is on and to make sure the salesperson does not increase the volume when switching to the more expensive speaker). Blindly audition loudspeakers at Magnolia between $1000 and $10,000 per pair. If, on true blind listening tests, you are equally happy with speakers available for $2000 a pair or $5000 a pair, just buy your $2000 speakers at Magnolia. They have several excellent options at the low end (e.g., Magnepan 1.7s; Martin and Logan Ethos (but you will need to add a sub or two), etc.) Step #5: if you followed steps 1 - 4, and if you listened blind at Magnolia, and if you consistently prefer the sound of $5000 speakers over $2000 speakers without having any idea what the speakers cost or who made them when you listen, then you are are one of the special subset of passionate music lovers who really, really should visit The Source AV. There you will find an astonishing selection of some of the world's best audio devices and authentic, thoughtful audio engineers to help you choose. Hint: the choice that matters the most and the largest part of your outlay should be for speakers. Very good amplifiers and digital-to-analog converters are available these days for remarkably low prices. There are diminishing returns if you try to hear a difference between two high current amps at $1000 per channel or at $10,000 per channel. In contrast, two pairs of speakers in the range of $3000 to $20,000 not only have unique voices that will please some ears more than others and complement some music more than others, but they vary tremendously in efficiency, frequency response curves, dispersion, envelopment, neutrality, euphony, and presence. I had to respond to Barrett d's review. Several of our friends recommended The Source A/V Design Group so we contracted them for our needs. My friends and I all agree that not only are they the most advanced in the industry but they were fast clean and very fair on pricing. We all shopped before contracting with The Source A/V Design Group and found that they were in most cases priced better than other companies. With that said, I looked at the reviews posted by Barrett d and noticed that other than a Golf facility he/she has nothing nice to say about anyone. Maybe it's best to ignore foolish commentaries from a poster like Barrett d and find out for yourself. Our project was estimated to take 3 weeks because it was a large project and they finished in 1.5 weeks. I would say they under promise and over deliver and I know that my 4 friends that recommended them to me would say the same of The Source A/V Design Group. We looked up the company on other sites and found so many amazing reviews about them. I was looking for a Marantz av receiver to replace my existing unit. They are authorized dealers, so I called them to investigate the units I was interested in. They took lots and lots of time to go over the pros and cons of the units and suggest interesting alternatives (older models at substantial savings). Sound and video have been my hobbies for many, many years and I was pleased to talk with someone so friendly and knowledgeable. Their showrooms are large and stocked with high-quality equipment. We took lots of time to audition and talk about my alternatives, They even offered to come and set up the receiver I finally decided on. Although they are aimed at more high end their prices are normal. The only drawback to the whole experience was the temptation to spend the whole day talking with such personable people who obviously loved what they were doing. read more

My first time in The Source AV Design Group was fantastic. The workers are helpful and friendly. There are many flagship headphones to listen to, along with many top tier DACs and amplifiers. Jason Lord's accounting is filled with inaccuracies. The bottom line is he refused to refund all of my money for the surround sound processor (even after he admitted that the unit had design defects). It wasn't until I had an attorney send him a demand letter that he finally gave me a full refund. read more
