High five for HiFi Kitchen!…read more Located a block away from the Historic Filipinotown arch, this cozy spot is worth a stop. I finally had the chance to visit this brick-and-mortar after experiencing their food on two occasions. Once was at a catered event at SIPA, and another was at a pop-up at FPAC. During that catered event at SIPA, I had the Vegetarian HiFi Sisig which has tofu, eggplant, & shiitake, onions, peppers, and vegan mayo. I was obsessed with how good this was and was hoping there would be leftover for baon. But I also didn't want to be greedy...lol! Then at FPAC, they offered Veggie Sisig Tacos. Similar ingredients, except in a corn tortilla. Again, obsessed! https://yelp.to/b419aFUgE- Craving that yummy sisig, I walked into HiFI Kitchen's brick-and-mortar, eager to partake once again. Sadly, they were out of tofu. But the gal behind the counter was willing to modify by going extra on the veggies for my Vegetarian HiFi Sisig bowl. At first glance the portion size didn't quite meet my expectation of what I would consider a $17 veggie bowl that lacked tofu and nixed the egg, but it was surprisingly filling! And maraming masarap! https://yelp.to/tW6yKt2uDg Also masarap is the Pandan Horchata Latte. Yum! https://yelp.to/prcFhvC2jO Staff is very helpful. The decor embraces the hifi theme (high fidelity in this case) of old media such as using an audio tape case to store napkins and utensils, or having a VHS tape rewinder mounted on the wall. There's a single table indoors, bar-height counter for extra dining, and a few more tables out front. When I arrived, there was a family of 3 in there. By the time I sat down, three parties of 2 formed a line at the register. Popular spot! Street parking was fairly easy at 1pm on a Saturday. Would easily make a stop here anytime I'm in HiFi. Happy to support a small Filipino business :)

The staff were nice and you mainly order at the kiosk up front! The interior was smaller than I thought it was, so theres only a bit of seating inside. We ordered the Vegetarian Sisig and the Vegetable Lumpia! The sisig was absolutely delicious! I really loved the bit of atchara it came with and what sauce the vegetables were coated in. The crema on top was also a nice touch of flavor! The vegetable lumpia took me by surprise because it wasn't a typical filling for vegetable lumpia I've usually had. It looked like it had squash and green beans in it and Im not sure what else. It was pretty good though! I will say it is a bit on pricier side and the portions aren't too big. Overall, great experience and the food was superb!

Wes and…read moreDmitry are true professionals--incredibly friendly, welcoming, and equipped with an extreme wealth of knowledge regarding hi-fi equipment, system synergy, and proper setup. They generously spent a significant amount of time with me, allowing me to audition various systems, including multiple versions of the DeVore speakers I was interested in. What truly stood out was the completely pressure-free environment. There was zero rush to buy or make any decisions on the spot; their primary goal was simply to help me find the right sound. I eventually purchased my beautiful DeVore O/96 speakers from them, and the entire process was a joy. I am already looking forward to working with them again as I plan to invest in a preamplifier and a power conditioning system in the future. Additionally, Common Wave is expanding into a beautiful new space that is going to be spectacular to visit once it's finished. Thank you, Wes and Dmitry, for all your outstanding help!

We got the wings, miso mac and cheese, and steak/filet bites. These were all on happy hour. The wings were really good. Small portion and small (little baby) wings but the sauces (yuzu something, and siracha honey) were super tasty! I had suchhhhh high hopes for the miso Mac and cheese but I wouldn't get it again. It's not very miso heavy and the cheese mostly on top. The inside/bottom part of the noodles were bland and needed cheese or cheese sauce. The steak bites were good but small. I guess normal size for a happy hour plate. Separately, the happy hour menu on their website is bigger than the actual one. So they need to change that asap. No curry on the HH menu currently :( The drinksssss were FANTASTIC. We got the purple haze and no name. Love the names LOL. I would do 3 orders of drinks to try all the interesting stuff they had if we had time. Soooo I won't rush back here but it was decent. Highlight was the drinks. Chris does great work... if you can ever get him to finish it…read more He came out right away to consult on two consoles I had with separate problems. He replaced the capacitor for one, and took the turntable for the other with him to fix. He brought it back the next day repaired. The work for both was over a thousand... maybe 1200 or so. Fast, efficient. Worth it... if it had ended there. But it didn't. The console with the replaced capacitor still had the same problem and the turntable had a new issue and wasn't playing out of one channel. These things happen, no problem... so I texted Chris this, and he would occasionally get back to me but would not commit to come out and finish the work. After months of this I started to get worried. Finally, two or three months later of hounding him constantly, I got him to come out to at least fix the turntable - but only AFTER I had diagnosed the issue myself (was simply a loose wire in the cartridge that needed soldering) and told him not to worry about the second console for now (which he said he'd have to take into his shop since he had no room) if that was what was preventing him from coming out. That worked. He came. Soldered the one wire and one player was working fully. I was happy for at least that. We discussed having him take the other console into his shop in a month or so when he had room and finish what he started... I knew there would extra costs and told him so. Nevertheless, he has stopped responding to any communication from me at all since that day. That was months ago now. Judging by other reviews on here about Chris ghosting them, I fear that is the treatment I'm getting and it's the last I've heard from him. I'll have to find someone else to finish the work I suppose.

Can I give them 6 stars ?…read more I purchased a home stereo system at Ahead Stereo about three or four years ago. I met with Aaron just to ask a few preliminary questions. he is super knowledgeable, like everyone at Ahead Stereo, but understood my level of expertise and was able bring it up a few notches. In the last few years I've purchased a few more items from Aaron and no matter what questions I ask, they are answered completely regardless whether I'm ready to purchase something or looking for advice.
