The Solar Community is a solar company headquartered in Watertown, NY, but they also have an office in Colonie. They don't currently have any reviews on Yelp for the solar services they provide. This is about how they contact residents in the area, and the information they may or may not be sharing with you.
One of their reps came to my door late yesterday evening (I'm always initially suspicious of someone who solicits after 6pm, but that's just me). Things he never mentioned: This is not something you automatically get, you only get this if you apply for it with a solar company. There is no indication of whether there is a cost to apply or join.
I don't know whether the lack of information conveyed was deliberate or whether this person was new at the job. I consider the information I was given misleading at best and slightly deceptive at worst. I also think that an inexpensive flyer delivered in my mail touting the benefits of CDG would reach more people than paying individuals to go house to house, especially if they can't - or don't - provide meaningful information.. read more
