I had them do a large project (Fairview) for me at a Duplex in Tower Grove. They came out several times and met with my property manager (no service fees at all). I called them a few times after the big project only to be nickel and dimed by $190 service fees per call with no work. One project was at Fairview which they had just completed but charged me extra indicating it was "different". I can't prove that but sounds very suspicious when the entire basement was rewired. I called them about electric going out in a kitchen at a Duplex on Alaska. They went over there, was there for 10 minutes and called and said the breakers overloaded and sent me a $221 invoice with a several thousand dollar bid to fix it (I later got a bid elsewhere for $700). What they will say. The large project they saved me from tens of thousands of dollars on a full rewire (isn't that your job?), "This cost me gas, this cost me time." They had no problem spending the gas and time to get the large projects only to nickel and dime the smaller ones. Just for your info. Beware and do your homework. Contractors are getting out of control.

Shortly after, electrical failures continue to occur (outlets suddenly not working, flickering lights, etc). This is happening across condos that they services. Upon bringing their attention to the matter, they refuse to address the issues without charging a ridiculous 2 hour fee minimum (even if the issues take 20 minutes to fix). They are not taking accountability for the issues that are occurring as they should if they really hold the value of providing exceptional work. Not to mention how absolutely RUDE the owner, Ashley, is when calling to discuss these concerns. Even with evidence that all work was not thoroughly inspected, they refuse. These remediations cost THOUSANDS of dollars, and they can't come look at a damn outlet. DO NOT USE! Or ask for a guarantee that If something goes wrong within 1 year of service, they will be responsible for fixing! I will also be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau for completing inadequate/poor work, price gouging and complete lack of customer service.

So happy that Doug (one of the owners) knows what he's doing. He took care of ordering the parts, taking care of installation, and showing us how to use the app on our phones to get the most out of the system. He didn't try to upsell us on any additional products. We used VHS a 2nd time to install a smart lock on our home. Again, Doug showed us the various options available and pointed out we should choose a color that matched our existing hardware (I would not have thought of that on my own). He took care of ordering and installed for us. He ran into a few snags removing the existing lock and then getting the new deadbolt to latch. I can only imagine if my partner and I were trying to install, we would have been freaking out. Doug handled everything in stride (he's done this a few times). We thought we could download the app can get it connected to our Smart system ourselves, but again Doug was there to help us out when we got stuck. The personal attention that they give at VHS is unmatched. Communication via email with both Doug and Sean was easy and quick. They were available even after 5pm and on the weekend to work around our schedule. Of course, you could try to do everything yourself, but they take the thinking and arguing out of the equation. Their service has been fantastic. A recent incident to illustrate this. While we were vacationing in England, a smoke detector developed a fault and created a false alarm. Durrell's monitoring system had the fire brigade there in minutes, a neighbor was able to let them in and they established that there was no fire. We talked from the UK to Durrell's engineers and one of them was able to divert to the house and replace the faulty detector with a new one. Less than two hours after the original false alarm, our house was secure again with a fully functioning system and we were able to get back to enjoying our vacation.
