I purchased a couch in September of 2020, after three months the couch was lumpy and the springs were soft. I called the store , a serviceman was sent out, he increased spring tension and stuffed more padding in the cushions. After a couple of months I called again, the couch was lumpy, the same serviceman, same result. I called the Sofa Store talked to the store manage, I told her I was not satisfied with the couch and wanted to return it. They offered me a 20% discount on a new couch. The Sofa Store sells couches, I paid $2000 for a couch that was junk and they would do nothing about it. I would not recommend them or their products. read more

Yikes! I haven't shopped for furniture in a long time and didn't realize that it's like buying a car with a salesmen literally watching your every move and not leaving you alone. I didn't walk more than 5 steps into the store before someone was by my side asking me what I was looking for and how they can help. Yes, I was looking for something in particular, but no I don't need you to watch me and give me input on every little thing. Him letting me know the layout of the store was helpful, but still not really necessary. I just want ti browse and be left alone, I will ask you if I have questions. Anyway, I was very underwhelmed by their couches on display, they are all out dated looking and just ugly. The store is also huge and everything is spread out, it seemed empty or at least lacking personality or decoration, or something . Maybe that's because of covid and lack of supply? Idk, but again everything was super traditional, not my style at all. Overall I was very turned off by the sales approach and would not return. They need to come up with a more modern way of selling furniture because this is not going to work for future generations in my opinion. read more

The couch I purchased used batting instead of foam; it really is poor quality. It was serviced twice, all they did was stuff it with more cotton batting. Strangely obsessive about their fabric swatches, hassle you as you are trying to make a selection, practically grabbing them out of your hands to put them back on the rack before you are even done. When it came time to sit down and talk final pricing, the associate who was 'assisting' us was very argumentative. I say assisting but he offered only rudimentary information and couldn't answer any of our questions about the products stocked. As far as their competitive pricing, I urge prospective buyers to shop around when spending this much money. They were not the lowest priced furniture retailer in the area for us and when asked, weren't even sure if they were prepared to price match a big local competitor. Way better than Ashley or Wolf Furniture. so I've previously dealt with both Ashley on a bedroom set and a couch that didn't even last the warranty. Than wolf furniture on a new bedroom set that took 11 months to get all the pieces in and it came in incorrect two times.. so they both lost my business. I found the sofa store because I wanted a quality couch (flex steel) and they have a huge inventory of some of the top of the line couches with steel frames. they also have a better warranty then Ashley furniture. I decided to visit the Sofa Store to see what they offered for couches and chairs. I didn't really expect to buy anything. Well, I spent two hours looking at all of the fine furnishings and told our salesman (Matt) that I would come back after I made some measurements. He was helpful, respectful, and he really knew the products. I did return and ended up buying a beautiful leather electric reclining love seat that is perfect for my home theater. I also got a matching leather electric rocking chair. Matt was amazing. He helped me pick out the exact leather material that I wanted and helped me compare different types. While the anticipated delivery was about three months, it actually ended up being about 45 days until it was delivered. The delivery was perfect. The crew called me the morning of and showed up on time. The installers knew exactly what they needed to do and they handled the furniture (and my house) gently. They set everything up, plugged everything in, and then did a final check to make sure everything looked and worked perfectly. This was a first-class operation from start to finish. So we just got our couch a few hours ago! WE LOVE IT SO MUCH. it's absolutely amazing. It's everything we wanted. Yeah we had to wait a few extra weeks, about 4 extra weeks. Maybe a little more because they only deliver on Wednesday to us. I have no complaints other than maybe the manufacturer could have done a little bit better with the seams because we have a lot of strings hanging off. For the price I would have expected it to be flawless. It is super comfy and we are so happy with having something to finally sit on. The delivery men we super nice and professional (quick too). Although as they were leaving I had my husband run out to tell them we were missing a pillow. It was in the plastic so good thing I noticed right away. I know that we were pressured to keep the delivery because they like to inspect at the home instead of opening it at the warehouse l didn't really feel like they did any of that. Hence we were missing the pillow etc. all in all we are still happy with our purchase. The only thing I would change is the delivery (I don't think it was necessary) and the little strings on the seams. read more

I purchased a sofa in October 2020 it was special order fabric. I did not receive it until April. This should of been six weeks but the reason was COVID. Beware if you are getting selection of material goods they will blame COVID for you getting your sofa (6 months later). We sat on the floor during ALL THE HOLIDAYS. Let me start off by saying my sofa has still not been delivered. This was ordered in August (4 months ago). We were told this would take approximately 10-12 weeks due to covid, which was understandable. However as the weeks and months go on, they have ZERO communication with their customers and you must always reach out to them, multiple times and via both email and phone calls in order to get a direct answer. They keep insisting that it should only be 1 or 2 more weeks but now we will be going on 5 months with it still not even created. We spend about 5K on two beautiful sofa pieces, one is a sectional and the other is a more traditional sofa. We have had these two pieces for 2 1/2 years and while they are beautiful, they are falling apart. We purchased the warranty package which of course doesn't cover the fact that the fabric is splitting at the seems where your back sits. Less than 3 years old and NO pets on furniture and no jumping on them etc. After speaking with the warranty folks and them telling me they cannot do anything, I call The Sofa Store. They ask me to send pictures via email and instead of really helping me, they forward them to a company that fixes furniture for me to pay for in full. BOTH pieces are ripping at the seems in same places and to get fixed, I have to pay $1,000. RIDICULOUS. I am so disappointed and wish I had gone to Bassett like I had done previously...... It's been quite a few years since I ordered upholstered furniture, so I was at first taken a bit aback by the long lead-time for my order: 6 months! However, I've recently checked around, and that's the new normal. Our sales guy was so helpful to us! He pointed us in the right direction (we were looking for Flex Steel), then gave us all the time and space we needed to make up our minds on the furniture we wanted, just checking back with us periodically to make sure we didn't have any questions, and providing us with spec sheets for the models in which we were interested. When it came time to pick the fabric, he again pointed us in the right direction, and gave us a few hints to help, then provided us with fabric samples to take home to try out in our home to see how things looked. I would give this furniture store an A+ in every area. The store in Glen Burnie is huge and beautifully organized. Sofas, chairs, rugs, TV and more are all in one beautiful store. The furniture is placed in such a way to make viewing of your perspective purchases easy from all angles. The selection is enormous. I purchased a gorgeous, semi-circular leather sofa which adorns my open living area on the first floor of my home. I have received more compliments on this piece of furniture than any piece of furniture I have ever purchased. I also purchased a living room chair and ottoman with extra fabric to cover my kitchen bar stool cushions and bistro chair. Looks amazing. I have purchased 3 TVs from the Sofa Store. The customer service was outstanding and the installation was seamless. The installers even gave me a thorough tutorial on how to operate the TVs and I have never had a problem with any of them.
