Went to them in late November 2025 as my current sofa came here as well and was happy with that purchase. Met with Karen who assisted me in my selections exactly for a sofa to my specs. Was given a contract, gave a deposit and said that it would be ready for delivery the second week in February. After two days into that week, I emailed her expecting her to call me to touch base about the order and learned that the sofa had not been done as the fabric I chose was not available. I expected a sales rep to have their management skills to be ahead of any potential problem as my contract is with Sofas Etc. and not Sherrill Furniture who is their agent making the furniture. After some back and forth, I was told that if I came in the store, I could pick out another fabric and was told that they would be "moving me to the head of the line above everyone else to get my softa within the next 6 weeks." While at the store, Karen called and spoke to the agent at Sherrill and learned that they just got the fabric in again and I could get the fabric of my choice. I said to Karen that I felt a little mismanaged in that there was no way I was receiving communication from anyone about the fabric. It was really Sofas Etc. that I had the contract with and obviously, no one was caring to communicate after I left the deposit. The Owner offered placating remarks and with my health compromised, I just wanted to go home and not deal with this kind of treatment. I left the store thinking that it was really coming and would be done in the beginning of April. I emailed Karen right after the beginning of April: "Another deadline missed?" in the subject line of my email and she then emailed me back saying they would look into it. The Owner emailed me exclaiming that they were having problems not getting communications with them. That Karen received messages that the fabric was there and also that it wasn't. I just felt abused and neither Karen nor the owners were taking any responsibility for the process at all. I didn't bother coming back to the store and told them to credit my deposit in full immediately. After all that, the Owner still insisted that perhaps he could offer a heavily discounted price if I would just let them try to get it done again. I just wanted the abuse of the whole process to be done and credit my account immediately. I have to put the onus onto Sofas Etc. as they had the contract with me and they should have been guiding and managing the process including all communications instead of operating from a "reactionary" process. read more

Visited on a Saturday afternoon to assist my mother with furniture shopping. Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted by an employee who would later assist us. Kelt was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. My mother was looking for something pretty specific and he was attentive throughout the process while also allowing time to roam the store independently. While I cannot attest to the purchasing process, it was a delightful shopping experience and the range and range of sofas were a great very high quality. read more

I am rating a 4 star because my Salesman Kelt was awesome, he gets 5 stars. BUT, as for Sofas etc. They get a 3 star, hence meet in the middle overall 4 star. My disappointment was when my sofa was supposed to be ready (8-10 weeks), I got the phone call that my material had been discontinued, which meant, had to pick another material out & wait an additional 8-10 weeks. We just ordered a sectional Elran sofa. It was a complicated process because of our particular needs and other people involved in the decision. Fortunately we worked with Kelt who has phenomenal knowledge, and the patience of Job. We requested many changes before the order was finalized and Kelt kept smiling and with wonderful humor got us to the end zone. He is a real pro and a wonderful man. Shopping for new furniture can be so overwhelming, but I have to say, I had a wonderful experience with Kelt. He was knowledgeable, professional and patient with my indecision. After much back and forth, my husband and I bought new living room pieces by Prescent that were years overdue. The delivery was simple and the furniture arrived on time. Prices are better than the other stores I shopped in the Baltimore area. It's so rewarding to come home after a long day and see this beautiful new living room waiting for me! Got married, moved to the suburbs and without hesitation went straight back to Sofas Etc and bought a leather recliner. Next phase in my life, I needed a new big sectional and yep - back to Sofas Etc I went. Wanda was my salesperson and she was excellent working with me and my husband. My experience with Sofa Etc. was wonderful at the beginning and did not end so great. The good part was our sales lady was very sweet and helpful. And so was everyone at the store. I have selected and purchased high end sectional sofa, sleeper sofa and tv console . When my furniture arrived everything looked fantastic. But we could not fit our sound bar in tv console. So it was no way we could keep this piece. We told them right away to take tv console back. And they did . We advised our sales person of the issue and she understood. Few days later we received a call from Sofa Etc. asking for $500 for freight charge. That sounds ridiculous and outrageous since it was about $100 to deliver. read more

We shopped around for a couch for a few months and ultimately decided to shop locally at Sofas Etc. rather than online. They had stylish reasonably priced couches that could be customized. Toni was our sales person and she was really knowledgeable and helpful. We had pretty specific needs and she showed us two couches, one of which we really liked and ended up ordering. However, when the couch arrived it was the model we did not select. Being that the couches were so similar, it was an honest mistake on Toni's end. The part that upset us was when we went back to the store the day the couch was delivered to resolve the issue. When we spoke with Jeremy he made it clear that he did not have to do anything to help this situation and essentially it was our fault for not noticing the wrong model numbers on the invoice. We got no apologies, no explanation, and were afraid we would be stuck with a couch we never wanted in the first place. Eventually we were told that the correct couch could be exchanged for the one delivered but at a $250 fee. This fee seems arbitrary due to the fact that we paid $100 for the first delivery already. I hate to say I wish we would've just ordered online. It took 15 weeks and $250 to get the correct couch. We give 2 stars because the couch and chair we got are beautiful, but needless to say I will not recommend or shop at this store again. Update: Changing my review to one star because of this nasty (not to mention inaccurate) response. Further proving why I wouldn't recommend shopping here. read more

Phone: 410-661-6600 My friend told me about this place as they got their sofa from Sofa's Etc in Baltimore, so I went to both locations, Columbia and Baltimore to look around when I went to buy a sofa. Boy, all I can say is "WOW", I am impressed! They carry the name brand: "Precedent" line of sofa's and sectionals which I saw at Danker furniture, but Danker wanted 1/3 more money for the same sofa! I loved the fact that Sofa's Etc. offered a no-extra-charge fully customizable Precedent sofa! You choose the arm style, the bottom, the leg style and color wood, the back, how many cushions & seats you want etc. and the process was exciting to totally make my custom sofa and choose from no less than a thousand fabrics. In addition, the frame is 100% solid wood and hand tied springs, and the company puts springs in the cushions so they never sag! Prices are about $1299 -$1399. for a custom sofa. Sometimes they have a floor model for immediate sale, an "oops order" or one that someone never picked up that you can take home same-day, but usually that's not the case. You do have to order it. Be prepared to wait, but you'll be happy and get exactly what you want and have a custom made sofa for less than you will buy retail. I just wanted to see if I could get it at a further discount so I called a high Point North Carolina wholesale company and they could only give me less than $100. off the same sofa, so now I know Sofa Etc.'s price was great, plus I prefer to work with a local store with real people. We liked the Baltimore location. Marc is the owner of both stores. He was warm, friendly, very knowledgeable about sofa construction and extremely easy to work with. Our sales person was Sheila. -Very nice and helpful. My sofa and loveseat is gorgeous and 5 years later looks perfect and has upheld so nicely! We went back to buy two more pieces and Sofa's Etc. will be the only store I buy a sofa from again. We referred another friend to them. She got the most beautiful quality leather sofa you ever saw. I recently purchased a three-cushion sofa from Sofas, Etc. on Joppa Road in Baltimore, MD. I was happy with our sofa and with the service we received from sales associate Michelle Greenberg at the Joppa Road store. However, I was unhappy with the workmanship of the two accent pillows. I contacted the store in hopes of having the pillows (or the cases) replaced with satisfactory ones. I sent the store photos of the pillow zipper seams and also a photo of the cushion zipper seams. The cushion zipper seams were even and straight. The workmanship on the cushions was excellent. However, on the pillow zipper seams, there was uneven sewing. This produced untidy and irregular gaps on each of the two pillows. As a result, I had to keep re-positioning the pillows so that the uneven seams were against the back of the sofa so they did not show. I did not want to be arranging pillows multiple times a day for years to come! If the seams were sewn correctly, this would not be necessary. Toni, a store manager, agreed with me that the pillow cases were not acceptable so she sent the photos to the manufacturer. But the factory replied that the pillow cases were within their acceptable standards. Fortunately for me, Toni did not take "no" for an answer. She asked me to bring in the cases and she sent them to the factory. The result? --New pillow cases with straight, even seams that look tidy on my sofa. I have recommended Sofas, Etc. to several of my friends because I am pleased with the store service and the sofa--and the resolve of the pillow case issue! I am appreciative of, and grateful for, the proactive customer care I received, as well as for the product I purchased from Sofas, Etc. on Joppa Road. PS I almost forgot....Michelle said originally that the sofa would take 10-12 weeks to be custom-made and shipped. I understood, but asked her to see if it was at all possible to have it manufactured faster as I was having a high school reunion breakfast at my home in 8 weeks. She offered to call the manufacturer but made no promises as it was out of her control. However, Michelle must have worked her magic because the sofa arrived two days before the reunion--a great replacement for my tired, old sofa and just in time. read more

During my first trip here, I found a couch and was 100% sold on it. I waited to pull the trigger (which I now regret because it just added time!) on the purchase. I ordered a couch that is fairly popular, part of the Precedent line, and I am sure that the couch will be with our family for years and years to come. In addition to the quality furniture, you'll get great service. I purchased a yelp voucher after making my deposit on the couch. They still allowed me to use the voucher. It basically made the price of my couch $100 cheaper. Next time I am in the market for a solid piece of furniture that will last a long time, Sofas Etc will be one of the first places I go. This is definitely not an IKEA, where you get "bargain" pieces that become disposable. This is hand-down-to-your-kids kinda furniture! read more

Beautiful designer sofas. It seems, after I did some hunting, that their prices are quiet fair. I didn't do any business here so I can't comment further but it's def. worth a look if you're in the market for a *nice* new sofa. I was not the easiest customer to work with because there were so many color choices and I changed my mind a time or two. I've just ordered my sofa after examining everything in the Sherrill line (within my size limitations). I have enjoyed working with Toni who patiently showed me all of the selections of styles of sofas and the colors and fabrics that can choose. I have learned a lot about upolstered furniture and how it is made these last couple of months. This store sells top quality furniture. I will be getting a Sherrill sofa from the Plaza line. Toni double checked that I wanted firm cushions on the sofa. There are so many details that I had forgotten that. I bought both an electronic recliner chair and a sofa at the same time. After about 1 1/2 years, the recliner stopped working. Sofas sent a man to my home at their expense and he fixed it on the spot. About a month later, I was not happy about how the fabric on my sofa was recovering after sitting on it. It had a depression that I could not fluff up. I called Sofas and they said they would contact the manufacturer. They called back to say the manufacturer's warranty had expired but they would cover the cost of having additional stuffing added to the sofa. They sent the same man out to my house and he added the additional stuffing and it looks great. So very happy with this customer service! I would definitely buy from them again and have recommended them to my friends. read more

We just went to Overstock Furniture last night where we bought a sofa and a love seat. When we first walked in, it was very quiet. While we looked around, and tested out some sofa's by doing the bounce test, we began wondering "where the Sales people were". Finally, by the time we reached the end of the store, we were greeted by a man who was sitting down at the desk the entire time. We were informed that there was the top level of the store, and then there was the ShowRoom downstairs. We ventured downstairs and it was pretty cool because it was just a huge area filled with all different kinds of furniture. We were like kids in a Candy Storm; we ran and bounced around from sofa to sofa trying each one out. We were able to look around without the sales team hasseling us, which was nice. I don't like people breathing down my neck while i'm trying to look at things.They did stop by here and there just in case we had questions or needed information. There's an older gentlman on the Sales Team named Ray, he was the best! Ray was nice, honest with his answer's when asked a question about the furniture, and was considerate. If you go to Overstock Furniture, ask for Ray! The furniture is really nice, and very decorative. They have sofa's, beds, tables, recliners, dressers, pretty much any furniture you can think of in all different colors, shapes, and sizes. They have a closing sale going on right now where everything is up to 80% off. Our Sofa and Love seat was 70% off and then we got a 20% off on top of it. Although, the 20% off on top changes from time to time. The day before we went, it was 10% off on top. Ray informed us that they don't know how long the extra percent off will last, it depends on what Corporate says for that day. The building looks kind of sketchy from the outside, but it's well worth it when you head inside.We love our furniture, and you can't beat the price. read more

We have been looking for a loveseat for some time and went to Shofer's yesterday, where apparently selling a loveseat to a customer is simply too tedious. Today we went to Sofas Etc on Joppa Rd and had a totally different experience. The charming salesperson, Dana, was very attentive without being pushy and made sure we found exactly what we were looking for. I am so pleased with our new loveseat and can't wait for it to be delivered. The prices were what I'd expect for a quality piece of customized furniture. They have a nice selection of attractive, budget conscious Rowe furniture, and although we didn't go with a piece from that collection, we will definitely keep it in mind when we get around to replacing our old sofa. We went to many furniture stores including- Pad, Shofers, Gardiners, Su Casa, and Second Chance. Sofa etc concept is designer sofas at a discount price. We got to pick the fabric, leg style and color and there was no extra charge. Ask for Nancy Pollinger. She was amazing and super helpful. She worked within our price range and we ordered an amazing sofa for the price. Because you are designing your sofa you have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for delivery, but well worth the wait! read more

The selection was the best we found. The ataff was very helpful. We got a good price on the sleeper sofa, plus $100 off with Yelp coupon. The moving company was a pain in the butt. They came much later than promised. The sales staff, based on measurements and Photos I provided wrote on the order to take off legs before moving up stairs. I told mover this before they tried, but they insisted. Of course they couldn"t do and had to unwedge it and chipped the wall. They were able to move it to the second floor with little problem without the legs. Sofas etc responded right away and professionally. The mover told me I was ruining it for all other customers by complaining. I would recommend sofa etc without question, but I wouldn't trust their mover's judgement. If you think they are forcing the item, make them stop and do it right. It should be your choice to damage property or furniture, not the movers. read more
