Scary! We (yep, I was involved) created a lengthy treatment plan. They explained EVERY procedure and cost and presented alternative options. I asked questions, and they were answered. Not one person in the office ever made me feel ashamed or embarrassed about the state of my dental health or the rate I could afford to address the issues. The All In One Dental Innovations team's goal was to get me well. Their office offers all the bells and whistles. The doctors stay very well versed in new technology but are still not afraid to use old-school common sense problem-solving. When I had emergency dental needs, Doctor James has always been there for me. Him and his staff have always checked-in after all procedures (big or small, and when I say checked in, I mean the Drs. themselves called as well as Moose" Office staff personnel"). I have spent many hours in their dental chair, and everyone has been exceedingly kind and patient. I do not often post on Yelp, but my visit with the office this last week 02/11/2021 inspired me to sing their praises. As Doctor James has always said that he is all about function over vanity, but in my case, I have lived the better part of my life with a smile I would hide (and that is hard because I like to smile). I think Doctor James knew how important this was for me, so he made it happen. With all this COVID-19 stuff I was still nervous (more then usual), but once I saw all the extra precautions him and the staff had made with special filter system in each room, extra cleaning and masks and gloves on everyone, including testing the staff for IGg/IGm related to the COVID-19. I was all in and ready for the chair. For me this was very emotional, and Doctor James listened to my requests and just dove in, to be honest, I did not feel a thing and at no time did I feel anxious about the procedure, but anxious to see the amazing results. And as you can see the before and after, you know I shed a tear (or ten). My husband received a crown several years ago with an initial quote of $1,000, which we paid in full. Later, they called claiming he owed an additional $700 because insurance didn't cover the "remaining" amount. After reading similar complaints in their reviews, we declined to pay this surprise bill. It appears this office has a pattern of billing insurance for treatments they consider "necessary" but that insurance companies reject as unnecessary. We switched dentists after this experience. Unfortunately, my husband's crown broke within just 4 years - much sooner than expected for quality dental work. Based on my research, premature crown failure typically happens due to poor materials or improper installation, not normal wear (and I can confirm there was no physical impact nor teeth grinding involved). I wanted to share this experience so you can make informed decisions about your dental care.

At my daughter's first appointment, they only took X-rays and did not provide the cleaning we expected. They tried to recommend multiple additional services, but never provided us with a clear treatment plan. We specifically requested the treatment plan and were told it would be sent to us. More than ten days passed, and we received nothing despite following up. We then asked for copies of my daughter's X-rays so we could move forward with another dentist. She had to call three separate times. Every single time, they promised the X-rays would be sent by the end of the day, and every time they failed to do so. What makes this especially frustrating is that my daughter is leaving home for college. We made this appointment specifically to take care of her dental needs before she left. After waiting so many days with no followthrough she now doesn't even have enough time to get her cleaning done before leaving. Their lack of follow-up wasted weeks of our time and delayed my daughter's dental care. Based on our experience, I absolutely would NOT recommend this office.

I wanted to know this before spending time on an appointment because I was trying to avoid unnecessary X-rays if the treatment wouldn't be fully covered and I was told yes everything was covered. After I arrived, they took a full set of X-rays and only then told me that my insurance would not cover the core buildup (foundation buildup) needed after the root canal and that I would have to pay approximately $800 out of pocket. They also began recommending a cleaning that my insurance did not cover, along with several other additional services that increased the cost. I felt this information could have been discussed before my appointment, especially since I had specifically asked about coverage beforehand. Instead, I spent time taking X-rays that I ultimately didn't need at this office. I decided to get a second opinion at UCSF Dental, where my Dental-Cal covered my treatment, including the root canal, core buildup, and crown. They also performed a thorough examination, identified cavities that were not mentioned during my visit to Heyday, and even quoted me a lower price for dental implants than what I was being asked to pay here for a single root canal procedure. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone with Dental-Cal to carefully verify exactly what is covered before scheduling treatment. I wish I had gone to UCSF first, as it would have saved me time, unnecessary X-rays, and frustration.
