For years I went without seeing a dentist. I wanted good looking teeth and knew I had a couple problems that probably needed to be fixed, but for fear of shots, potential surgery and financial concerns I let things go. All of that was rectified when I took a chance by going in to see Dr. Johnny and his team of professionals. - Years later now I look back and I'm so thankful to God first and foremost, myself for having courage and Bay Breeze Dental for being the dentist office of integrity and understanding that they are. - They didn't make me feel embarrassed by my dental condition, I felt very at ease, welcomed and accepted. I had no insurance at the time, but they were accommodating by setting me up on a payment that was within my monthly budget. - Most importantly they played more of a key role than I think they even realize in helping me create and live out a better life. Something very good emerges from within you when you don't feel embarrassed about the way your mouth looks. You feel free to talk with people, even up close. You can give a loved one a kiss and not hope they're not thinking how disgusting your mouth looks. - Maybe those insecurities were only my own, but I doubt it. Carolyn and Brenda are also amazing dental assistants who always make appointments more enjoyable by their friendly presence. Mandeep is extremely thorough as a dental hygienist while trying to be as gentle as possible (which I appreciate as a patient with super sensitive nerves) and Dr Johnny is as consistent as ever with his excellent care, patience, and dedication to not upcharging for unnecessary work. He'll always provide all the options & details and is happy to answer as many questions as it takes for his patients to feel comfortable and well cared for before committing to any procedures or costs. They are prompt on responding on the phone and setting up the appointments. This review is long overdue. Dr Liu and Dr Lac have been my family's dentist for over 5 years since we've moved to Pleasanton. The team there is amazing. I never realized going to a dentist could be a pleasant experience until I started going to Bay Breeze Dental. All four of us (2 kids and 2 adults) usually go together. My kids love hanging out in their TV lounge while I get my dental work done and vice versa. During our appointment, the office is never crowded. I believe they schedule it that way so you have their full attention. We've tried other pediatric dentist in the area for my kids. By far the best dentist I've ever had. The facility is very clean, high tech and kid-friendly (even for the big kids). Dr. Liu and the staff is very accommodating and caring. Dr. Liu is a phenomenal at what he does. He takes pride in his craft, and has thought carefully about the user experience. My first time here was mind blowing. It was a strange feeling... could it be that I was actually enjoying my time there? Upon walking in, you'll be greeted by his friendly assistant and they'll take a couple of x-rays and pictures. At this point you'll be greeted by the man himself, and he'll show you what HD pictures of your dental structure, and what needs to be done. They'll do their thing, clean your teeth, etc, and what I really like is how they display a before and after picture showing what they've done. Oh and did I mention they put a movie on while the cleaning commences? Time goes by pretty quickly and you have a relatively enjoyable time considering you're at the dentist. More importantly however, is that Dr. Liu knows whats he's doing. Before each procedure, he'll put your teeth up on the display and diagram what he's about to do, how it's going to help, other alternatives and why their inferior, and why it's better to do it now than later. If he feels that a procedure is unnecessary, he'll recommend against it. All in all, great Dentist. I moved away, but still make the hour drive it takes to get to Bay Breeze Dental. read more

I've been coming here for over two years, and have received nothing but excellent service and care every time. The equipment is the most modern I have ever seen in a dental office, yielding more thorough and comprehensive imaging results. The staff is always great about explaining what all of the images mean for my overall dental health, and I always leave feeling more confident about my dental health and habits. Dr. Johnny does the cleanings himself, and he's an absolute crack-up. Every dentist should start and end with humor - priceless! After my last visit, I started using mouthwash, and I'm one of the few people in the population for whom mouthwash turned my teeth brown. It's been embarrassing and disgusting to live with, to say the least. I bumped up my visit in a panic, and Dr. Johnny had my teeth sparkling white again with practically zero discomfort in under twenty minutes. The dentist Dr. Lui/Liu is funny. You walk in and he usually cracks a whole bunch of jokes that aren't funny but the way he delivers it with his facial expressions make you wanna laugh. This is why I like going to Bay Breeze; you will feel comfortable right from the beginning. Very clean and fun atmosphere. You can bring your children since he has a playroom and lcd screens to keep them distracted. Expired magazines, free water and a very friendly staff. If you need a dentist, check this place out. My hubby is a kind of person that doesn't bother to review things, but he thinks he owe Dr. Johnny a great review. So, here I am. My hubby was suffering from tooth pain and while many other dentist recommended some unnecessary procedures, Dr. Johnny basically said because his sinus problem that bother's his crown (which was made by some other dentists)--if his sinus problem subside, he will feel better. like any normal college grad, i followed my parents through their doctors and dentists, to later find that their practices were too "old school" for me. i needed a change, so i turned to Yelp. Yelp has yet to fail me for food recommendations, so why not use it for my personal needs? Yelp stated that Bay Breeze Dental had a 5 star rating! they have definitely lived up to their rating. all i had to do was provide them with my new dental insurance and they handled it. my first appointment, Dr. Johnny stepped me through what exactly what was going on. after a simple filling, they even called me with a follow up phone call to see how i was doing or if i was experiencing any pain. plus, i've been able to catch up on some movies while getting my grill cleaned and checked up on. it's great that Dr. Johnny is knowledgeable but not intimidating. (and the staff is always willing to chat it up with me about shopping!) i definitely recommend Bay Breeze Dental, even if it's been a long time since you've been to the dentist -- they won't make you feel guilty for not visiting, they're just happy you're there taking care of your teeth now. read more

We were looking for a new dentist for our toddler and we choose Johnny Liu based on meeting him and a friend's referral. He was really great with our 3 year old and his office was very nice and state-of-the-art. We got to watch the "Toy Story" movie while he was working on my little guy. It was also nice that he has a waiting room with a few kids toys and a wii setup. I would definitely recommend him for family dentist as well as for children that are not special or difficult cases. I just moved to Dublin from Michigan, where I had a dentist in the family. I was nervous about going to a new dentist, since my experience had only been with my uncle. But Dr. Lui ("Johnny") and his staff provided a very welcoming atmosphere that exceeded my expectations. The office even called the net day to follow up with me! Also, their dental technology is very state-of-the-art, and the staff is versed on why (for example, why digital X-rays make more sense, why use a high-frequency wand instead of a traditional scraper to remove plaque). He even used a tiny camera to take pictures in my mouth, to show me areas of interest (like a pocket of decay). Lastly, as a promotion to recruit new clientele for this new office, they offer coupons for new patients for discounts off treatments or tooth whitening. If only I could give them negative rating!!! I was driven there by the good reviews here. I checked their website before making an appointment with them. On his website, he is the only practice doctor listed there, and it shows they work for five days per week. Upon my arrival, I saw on their door that their opening days are M, W, Th, and F (Tuesday is closed). I accepted the discrepancy as a negligence. I was given a X-ray, and then a woman from Hong Kong showed up to give me examination. I asked why her name was not listed on Dr. Liu's website, and was told that Dr. had two babies and only works 3 days/week now. And he forgot his password to his website to update the info!!! I specially looked around, and there is only Dr. Liu's cards scattered around the office, and no appearance of that woman's card. The woman's examination of my teeth is extremely unprofessional, and lack of experience. I've been in the bay area for about 10 years and was a patient to three dentists, all of them are so professional, skilled and nice that I did not even expect to have any negative experience with this dental office especially with the excellent reviews here. Besides, I knew my one problem tooth by heart! and can tell if she is experienced/educated enough to play her role. Well, she cannot even take the numbers of my gum smoothly to say the least! She ended up cleaning my teeth - the worse cleaning I had in my life, all assistants from my previous dentists do a more professional job than her. I seriously suspect her qualification of practice! And felt cheated and fooled by Dr. Liu, as he obviously agreed her taking patients at his place, and didn't reveal the info to new patient! One of my back teeth was cracked in half at a restaurant during my family visit in Dublin and I was referred to Dr. Liu for a emergency appointment that very same day. I called late in the afternoon around 5pm and hope someone would pick up at the office and he did. He was actually on his way out but told me to come in anyways eventhough the office was already closed for the day. I arrived at around 6pm and he helped me off my pain with a root canal and I am very thankful for his help. Now I need a cap done for that tooth and I would love him to do it but I am from out of state. I would highly recommend Dr. Liu for any dental treatment. read more

Best night guard fitting and adjustments I've had. I didn't feel any pain for any of the cleanings or minor filings. He does a great job and I'm pretty picky about my dentist. He is very patient with kids. My toddler would not open her mouth the first visit. He talked to her and showed him how he looks in mommy's mouth and was very attentive anyway. By next apt., she was ok with letting him see her teeth. He schedules extra time for young children's 1st visit. Best dental office ever! We moved to Dublin and need to find a new dentist. I yelped some dentist and decided to go here because everyone rated it 5 stars. I called and was able to schedule my entire family for appointments on the following Saturday. While we were filling out our forms, Carol took the boys (ages 6 and 4) into the "play room" complete with a TV, every movie imaginable, Wii, etc. Dr. Liu introduced himself as "Johnny" and basically explained more about xrays and dental work that I could ever imagine. You also could watch a movie with the mounted flat screen that also allows acts a monitor. Dr. Liu has a camera that he puts in your mouth so you could actually see the tartar and cavaties - eew, but cool. The great thing about the office is they only have one patient at a time, they never double book so you don't feel rushed, but for a family, it's nice to know that your kids could run around freely and be kids without feeling like you have to keep them on their best behavior because you don't want the other patients getting irrate. This place is super kid friendly, the boys had a great time at the dentist and we're looking forward to coming back again and again, hopefully for cleanings only :) read more

they are by far the best dentist i have ever had, hands down! i am really happy with them and would recomment them to anyone and everyone. I like how Dr. Liu explained to me everything that i had to get done, in details. He even showed me my xrays/pictures in the monitor as he was explaining them to me, unlike my old dentists, they were so vague sometimes i don't even know what's going on anymore. And speaking of the monitor, while you're getting your work done, it also serves a different purpose, you get to watch movies!!! going to the dentist is never boring anymore! they have a great selection of new movies. I went here today and it was the best experience I've ever had with a dentist! First off, the price is right. For people without insurance, they offer xray's, exam, and cleaning all for $69! This is by far the best price you'll find in Dublin and probably a lot of other areas. I called a lot of places and some people were charging $200 - $300. Dr. Liu is amazing, not only does he explain clearly what's going on, but he's hilarious. The clinic is clean and the staff is very friendly and you get to watch tv while they work on your teeth.
