Margaritas and Sangria were okay, $14 & $9.5 Appetizer: provolone cheese with olive oil melted in an oven...blah $14 Dinner: we all went for fajitas (steak, chicken and shrimp) Steak - very greasy and chewy $31 Chicken - dry and very, very salty. Such an amazing place to come for dinner or just drinks. We came here for my birthday recently and I was presently surprised with the ambiance, service and food. I loved the varieties of empanadas they have as well as the appetizers. There are so many to choose from. We ordered the melted provolone cheese skillet and it came with bread that was so fluffy and delicious. For our main we shared the sizzle platter. There is so much food that comes for two people and I was really impressed. I am a huge fan of chimmichurri and theirs is so fresh and vibrant. The star of the night: 10/10: Sizzle MIX Charcoal BBQ Meats a traditional Argentinian style meal, served on a hot charcoal skillet. The short rib was amazing, great tastes on the meats. CHIMICHURRI SAUCE pairs perfectly with everything. The chicken though... tastes too much like... stinky chicken. To begin, were celiac. Our first question was, are we safe ordering just bbq meats for a family of 3. (Hubby, myself, child) Server was knowledgeable of full menu and had such a great personality. Our order was on point, we were well maintained. Sizzle Mix was huge for all 3 and still had leftovers. Only thing that wasn't ok to eat for us was the fries. Place was small and not crowded at the time of our visit. We were in the area and just happened to pass by and smelled the delicious bbq on a Saturday pre-rush timing. Very beautiful decor indoors. Downside: I opened the ketchup bottle to find a black rim all around the cap inside and on the glass bottle itself. Please clean those. Fruit flies were also lounging on the wall of our table. I've been here a couple times. Found this spot via Yelp looking for a dinner spot. Saw that it was an Argentinian spot so I had to stop by. I was born in Argentina so obviously gonna give this spot a try. Once you enter, you get a sense of a rustic restaurant vibe with brightly dim setting inside. My favorites were the variety of empanadas they serve. I have gotten a lot of them and my fave so far is the cheese steak empanadas which are accompanied by a variety of sauces. I had also gotten the especial piza which was solid and the Milanese steak which was also solid. Potato salad was interesting. I also had their sizzle mix which is a meat combo and it was solid and very filling. If you're in the mood for meats, empanadas and drinks, you can't go wrong stopping by here. Bartender was friendly & explained some of the menu items to us. We started with the empanadas - delish! Also we got a cheese app that was very good & gooey. For dinner we shared the beef fajitas. They were just OK - meat was tough in places & hardly any peppers or onions in it. The pico de gallo came in a tiny cup & the tortilla's were too large. The flavor of the meat was good & the guac that came with it was good. The rice was undercooked. All in all, nice atmosphere & friendly service & well made drinks. Came here with family and the inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated and not too busy. The service was quick. The empanadas were delicious and my family ordered the sizzle mix which came out on a heated grill. The sausage and chicken were delicious but the steak was a bit too charred and became dry. Overall a pleasant experience and I would come here for the empanadas and sausage but i was a bit disappointed with how dry some of the meats were on the sizzle mix (although the portion was way more than the two people it says it feeds) read more

This place was absolutely amazing! We were skeptical at first because it takes a few minutes for someone to come and seat you so of course we're thinking oh great we're gonna be here for hours! But as soon as we were seated they brought over some very good bread with different spreads and drinks came out fast and then we ended up sharing the sizzle platter with all of the assorted meats and it was literally enough for at least four people. The rice and beans and fries were also amazing very fresh didn't even need anything to dip the fries in they had such good flavor! I think this is gonna be my new weekly spot! read more

The skirt steak was bland, didn't taste grilled, but rather re-heated and boiled. Disappointing. Service brought out cocktails, appetizers and entrees all at the same time. My greatest pet peeve with service. Ordered a Tres Leches cake slice for dessert; it was brought to me in a plastic to-go container and not on a plate with a fork. We'd passed this place a dozen or more times and decided to try it out. My wife - who is considerably more finicky than Me - didn't like anything that came to the table. The calamari appetizer was cold and literally as chewy and stretchy as rubber bands (I'm really not kidding- they streeeeeeetched and snapped!) and had very little taste. My bbq beef ribs platter was gross. Mostly gristle and close to tasteless. I'm sorry as I really wanted to like this place. The waitress was friendly and the house was PACKED! Third time at the local Sizzle, third time disappointed. It's clear if patrons aren't drinking, the service is different. We want to love this place because we can walk there, but it always disappoints. Our food was consistent with the last two times, mediocre, possibly because the menu is so chaotic. Argentinian but selling American food and Mexican food...among other ethnicities. Portions are good, can't take that away. The major issues are the prices and the service. 19 dollars for a burger and 20 dollars for a glorified taco bowl. Waiter said about five words total and was generally not present for us...need a refill on water? Not happening. Want to pay your bill? No one to take the card and when they finally did, fifteen minutes went by before the bartender (who is RUDE) returns it, hollering with a nasty attitude. Coming in with a positive review because I was genuinely shocked to see this spot only had 2 1/2 stars. My brother and his girlfriend treated our family to lunch here and it did not disappoint! We stopped in for lunch around noon on a Saturday and were able to snag a table pretty quickly. They were really nice about squeezing together some tables so our family could sit together. Within a few minutes of sitting down though the place started filling in. The other reviews are not kidding this place gets packed. Our table ordered quite a spread from the lunch menu. A big hit was the skirt steak which we ordered in three different forms: fajitas, plate, and burrito bowl. They were super tender and had great flavor. Loved the rice + beans + the freshly fried chips in the burrito bowl for decoration (but I wish there were more of). My dad opted for the grandmas favorite sandwich which consisted of prosciutto, fresh mozz, balsamic, and a side of fries. He mentioned it was super fresh and well balanced. They have some surprisingly good fries here (I kept sneaking some off of his plate). The only dish that didn't blow us away were the ribs. They were packed on a small plate + were really fatty. I would pass on these unless they're a part of a mixed bbq plate where it doesn't matter if you only get a few bites of meat. The fajitas looked awesome though and the plating was A+. We didn't run into any issues with the service, but I can absolutely understand why people are upset about it. It seemed like they were still getting into the groove of their new space. Within mins we were given a bowl of small cut up bread and a trio of sauces. Spicy mustard (yes its spicy) Chimichurri (too watery) Onion sauce. Forgot what else it had but it was good. For apps we got fried calamari which were fine. Not a big portion Beef empanadas. Small, tad bit greasy since it was fried but beef filling were good. He enjoyed it Dad ordered beef ribs with rice n beans and he also enjoyed it I ordered flank steak, potato salad and grilled veggies. I did not enjoy it. Flank steak was a thick cut of beef, chewy and BLAND! Lacked flavor. No seasoning. The chimichurri sauce they gave me on the side couldn't help the dish. I expected Argentinian style potato salad and they just gave me Americanized potato salad which was just ur usual typical potatoes with mayo. Wasn't bad but i expected better. The star of the dish were the grilled veggies. They were properly seasoned with salt n pepper. Very good. Now why the hell they didn't properly season the steak with salt n pepper??? Mom ordered a side of asparagus which were also delicious and again properly seasoned with salt n pepper. I had to literally rub the veggies on my steak to get some kind of flavor. We looked at the very extensive menu and waited again for the waitress to take our orders. Finally did that, and the meals came out relatively quick. Started with empanadas , the table in general liked them. They seemed greasy to me, but they are deep fried. The meals came out, everyone got sandwiches except for me and seemed to enjoy them. Servings were generous. I got the baby back ribs. To me they were greasy and didn't have much flavor. The black beans that came with them seemed to be poured straight from a can and heated. Our group ate at The Sizzle last night. We arrived at 6:30 to a jam packed house, every single table was full, every seat at the bar was full and there was a 40 minute wait. The place was hopping! The decor is lovely and was tastefully decorated for Easter. The music was lively and fun. The staff was seriously hustling and bustling! The gentleman that met us at the door was very nice and despite the restaurant being super busy, he was happy, calm and professional. He took our number and we squeezed into the bar area for a drink while we waited. While waiting, I was watching the restaurant to see if tables were opening up. They were! As guests left, the bus staff instantly swept in and turned the table over in seconds. We were seated after about 25 minutes at the bar. We were immediately served toasted bread rounds with 3 sauces/spreads (spicy, chimichurri, onion). Our favorite was the onion. Despite the experiences of other reviewers, our appetizers, meals and desserts were served appropriately spaced out and everyone received their food at the same time. During our entire meal there was a steady flow of customers. There were also plenty of staff members and due to the design of the restaurant, an employee was almost always hustling by, making it easy to ask a question or make a quick request if needed. All of our food was hot and delicious! The drinks were great too-- Czig Meister on tap! Extensive cocktail menu. My only criticisms: -The drinks were a bit pricey, preventing me from ordering a second cocktail. -I would have preferred more chimichurri to be served on the skirt steak. I also wish it came with 2 maduros like I see in many other comparable restaurants. -The music in the bathrooms was crazy loud! (Although the bathroom itself was spotless and nicely designed.) The bread was served with 3 very unique spreads. Food was fresh, and the fries were not greasy or heavily salted. Quesadilla had just enough spice, absolutely was delicious not crunchy and not soggy. Great flavor and all ingredients very fresh. The wait staff was very attentive and minimal verbal communication, which we like allowing the table conversation to flow uninterrupted. We're headed to a show in newton and showed up at 630. The parking is pitch black and not ample for the business. We waited till 7 for a table for two. The hostess was clearing tables, taking reservations, and serving food. The reservation system was on post its. Place was packed. That said, if you are not going to seat people when you say you will, tell them. We ended up leaving after we asked how much longer and 5 minutes turned into 15. Almost 40 minutes waiting to be seated. Clearly short staffed that night. If I am up that way I will give it another chance. Just hope they are a bit more organized. read more

Our table was ready in abt 15-20 min! Men had rib eye steak which was a little more well done than ordered, the girls had skirt steak (pic) w chimmichurri which was perfect and delicious!! English: First time there was April 4 2024. The location was cute, the decor was also nice. We had Valentina as our server and she was kind. Unfortunately the meal was another story. We ended up ordering the sizzle mix for two adults and 2 kids. The tender meat was like rubber, one of my children choked on it. One of the sets of beef ribs was rancid and they cooked it anyway. The pork ribs were large bones with hardly any meat. The chicken was the tiniest pieces we had ever seen. And the other beef ribs were pure fat, no real meat on them. We had also ordered with the roasted potatoes and the vegetable side. We were under the impression they were $2-3 extra but that wasn't the case. So, instead of the sides taking the place of the rice and beans it was all additional. My husband also burned himself with the parrilla which was beyond sizzling hot on our table, which was right by our kids. We stopped eating after a number of issues as listed above, and were asked if we wanted to pack the rest to go home. We refused and then asked if there was an issue. My husband expressed all the problems we encountered, and they removed $7 from the bill. Mind you, we left more than 80% of the food. It was the first and last time we ate there unfortunately. My whole family is from Argentina, so I know what an Argentine BBQ should taste like. This wasn't it. Unfortunately our experience wasn't the best hope they get better cooks and people to better check their meats as well as getting a better butcher to choose from. Almost $100 for a meal that was completely unacceptable. I forgot to mention there was absolutely no seasoning or flavor on any of the meats we ordered. La primera vez fue el 4 de abril de 2024. This is a needed addition to the relative lack of good restaurants in newton. Family owned business with a wide variety of offerings. Have not tried to meats but salads are "ginormous" and very good. I had pizza once that was a disappointment. But was shortly after they opened and certainly was willing to give another try. Everyone tries hard to please the customer and I would recommend going.
