Located just down the road from the golf course and Selma, Bailey's Place has been beautifully landscaped to hold events, wedding ceremonies, etc. I was visiting here for a wedding. It's a gorgeous setup with an arbor, that the bride and groom got married under. There was seating set up in front of the arbor for guest. Behind the arbor was a cabin, that can be used for wedding party to get ready. But also can be used for receptions or having the wedding in. I believe this was the backup if it had rained. There isn't necessarily a parking lot, but a grassy area this is designated for parking. And lots of trees for shading.

There were two individuals helping to direct parking which helped tremendously. The beautiful Zyntango Farm Barn is an authentic 1800's barn with modern amenities. It's an event venue for weddings, receptions, graduations, bridal showers, family reunions, corporate retreats and special events. It's located about 5 minutes from Whitestown on the NW side of Indy in the countryside. Just 3 miles off of I-65, one exit north of the Zionsville exit and less than 30 minutes from downtown Indy. The barn is two stories with a flight of stairs. I'm not sure of the barn capacity but I would think this is best for a small to medium size event. The free Holiday Market had approximately 18 - 20 vendors in attendance. Cork and Wine Barrel was there along with a jewelry artist, a tattoo artist and Fantasy face painter, chocolate and cookie makers, a candle maker, a variety of signs, a small boutique, a lap blanket quilter and an artist displaying her oil paintings. One of the vendors, Keepsakes By Design, does personalized itching in glass cookware which is perfect for our bakers in the family. A couple of small food and beverage vendors were onsite with BBQ sandwiches, hot chocolate and soda. I found several vendors that is perfect for hostess gifts and family Christmas presents. So glad we took the time to visit today.

I was here for a bridal open house and the entire staff was wonderful from the moment I arrived. Parking was not an issue everything was handled in that area. The venue was showcased as an indoor outdoor attraction and I loved finding out the possibilities. We came on a Friday and although it was busy, it was overall easy to find a parking spot and table. A lot of people bring their own chairs or blankets which could be helpful in the future When we came, there were a lot of food trucks to choose to so can't speak on the food at urban apples, but their ciders were tasty! I got a flight and enjoyed trying different flavors. I wasn't a huge fan of their "regular" cider but I enjoyed the raspberry one and mixed berry. The cinnamon one was also tasty! There is a huge outdoor area and our kids loved playing in the open field and going down the tunnel slides. There's also a play area and other things we want to check out the next time we come. Definitely a fun spot to hang out with the family!

Important update - Carnival rides have returned to the Boone County Fair. Rides run from Wed -…read moreSaturday. I saw over a dozen rides including my favorite, the merry-go-round. Lots of carnival games were set up to open this afternoon. The Beehive cafe offers air conditioned, clean dining courtesy of the Boone County Extension Homemakers. I had a $5 Pork Tenderloin, which was a great deal. I also enjoyed watermelon and fried mushrooms, but used great restraint to not indulge in the locally made pies. The people are salt-of-the-earth friendly with a common love of agriculture. This year, there were more food trucks than in past years. I saw funnel cakes, corn dogs, blooming onions and much more. Lots of animals, exhibits and events are scheduled throughout the event. I don't know what "barrel racing" is, but it's happening tonight. Parking and admission are still FREE, so you can use all your money on food! Parking was easy in and out. This is a great small town fair with reasonable prices and lots of fun. The fair runs July 29-26.

What was amazing and appreciated is the fairground not only had the buildings air conditioned but also had connecting tunnels between buildings. So it felt like being in one big building. Each building had access to indoor restrooms that were very well maintained. Participants RVs had access to set ups directly next to the buildings so it wasnt a long hike to show ones dogs. Regular parking wasnt far away. Plus plenty of handicapped spots. Really liked this venue. Would come here again. I would attend this venue again.

It's probably not surprising that Coxhall Mansion is within the Coxhall Gardens location in Carmel…read more Both are event venues exclusive to Ritz Charles, though they fall under the Hamilton County Parks leadership. I stumbled across it today while out driving around and waiting for an event I was attending. The mansion is a historic mansion that was inspired by the Governor's Mansion in Williamsburg, VA. It has multiple options for several events and has been updated by Hamilton County Parks. From the looks of things, those updates continue to be implemented. As a historic mansion, accessibility isn't perfect. Things have been made as accessible as possible - Hamilton County, in general, tries to do that. Event space on the main floor has space for 80 people for a sit-down event. If the patio is included, you could have 100 sit-down or 120 standing. There's also a third-floor music room that has space for 40 sit-down. If you need a larger space, Coxhall Gardens has several other options including an amphitheatre. It's super weird to think that this was a home. The land started with the John Williams family (No, not the Star Wars composer). They were early Hamilton County settlers and moved here in 1855. 10 years later, they built the Victorian home that still stands. Bricks were even made on-site. In 1958, a 40-year-old Jesse Cox and his wife would make a bid on the property - it was initially denied, however, a year later the property was still for sale. Finally, they were able to acquire it. In 1999, they donated it to Hamilton County Parks. Due to its historic nature, the mansion is often viewed separately from the rest of the gardens. This entire complex is pretty mesmerizing, however, Carmel has a long history of weaving together luxury, history, and practicality and this mansion is a great example.

When I mentioned there were no bubbles, I was told that's how it was made. What? Open a new can! Tadah. Once again was outside service or in house? Who knows? Here is where the ratings go down the toilet...literally. Guest bathrooms or shall I say outhouse. To expect elderly women to go up wobbly stairs to go to the bathroom is obnoxious especially if they are dressed up. It is also a liability. Pumping a toilet to get it to flush was so weird especially given the pristine surroundings. Grandmas deserve better! Show your guests some respect and at least allow an option for a nicer loo. (I guess it was good that I barely ate or drank because it limited my needs to go.) Loved the venue but I think they need to do more of the guests and not just the folks writing the checks. So I guess I'd say beautiful place for a wedding but the reception aspect needs to be revisited.

We were extremely pleased with Cindy's recommended vendors especially Catering by Jonathan Byrd's and our wedding coordinator Save The Day Sisters. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding!
