For a party I attended, they decked the place out in string lights and wrapped them on the banister and I'm pretty sure I walked into a twinkling piece of heaven. Your options: rent Henry's (not equipped for bridal parties -- no hair, makeup, or staging space) or squeeze into limited space downstairs. At our wedding, our groomsmen had to physically carry my Aunt up the stairs so she could get ready with me. If anyone in your party -- or any guest -- has mobility issues, think hard about this. The overcharging isn't subtle, and it's documented on their own social media. At their "Grand Opening," booked couples were charged $25 to park in a baseball field and get shuttled in -- a detail they didn't disclose until the day of. For $75, you could get VIP parking up front, conveniently reserved for friends and family of the owners based on a convo I had in the restroom with a family member of the owners - whom they'd already had a party for the night before.. Paying customers in the cheap seats, insiders up front -- make of that what you will - especially when the insiders also participated the night before. And once again: if you had accessibility needs, you found out about the parking situation four hours before your event, with no plan in place. The owner also changed outfits no less than three times at the Grand Opening alone -- who knows how many wardrobe changes happen at the other promotional parties she throws so often. Multiple costume changes for an event isn't cheap, and it's hard not to wonder how much of what we paid went toward funding that kind of spectacle instead of, say, an elevator. The "booked out for years" claim doesn't square with the constant promotional parties. If you're really booked solid, why the ongoing push for exposure? Add-on costs pile up fast: $300 for outside DJs to plug into their sound system, $125/hour for coat check attendants. The venue and grounds are genuinely beautiful -- but you're decorating roughly 18,000 sq ft, and that does not come cheap. Speaking as a bride who got married there in June 2026: don't expect any breaks on cost. Bottom line: they're new, but "new" doesn't excuse repeated bad calls that vendors are already talking about. I wouldn't recommend Westwood. Had we known about the missing elevator upfront, we wouldn't have booked. A venue that prioritizes sound quality over basic accessibility for grandparents, parents, kids, and even the bride herself tells you everything you need to know about where their priorities sit.

I was planning on paid street parking so that was a plus! We got tickets in section C but it didn't make much of a difference in the smaller space we were in which was really nice. It felt like such an intimate experience! When you walk in, you get to walk past the stage area and can see all the candles and even though they're battery operated, it still makes the space look so cozy and inviting. Once we were seated, the musicians came out and played select pieces from many of the Miyazaki movies. The audience was respectful and quiet which really helped in a space like that to hear properly. The musicians performed so well and I'd love to come back for another show! The time goes by super fast (granted it's only about an hour).

The industry feel is breath taking! I have had both buffet style and plated at Mavris. The service was professional and efficient. My plated steak was by far better than the buffet due to the temperature but that is typical expectation for buffet style. But otherwise some of the better wedding food I have had in the city! Parking is down the road under the bridge and can be left overnight which is a nice perk for weddings or late night events. My only complaint is the train and helicopters can be heard during ceremonies and cocktail hour. So if noise is an issue for you I would stray away but otherwise great venue for your next event!

During the holiday season, we enjoyed hearing the nightly 6pm bells play different festive songs. The 8am bell tells us if we're running late for school and the noon bell is a sweet reminder to soak in the small stuff during the hustle of the work day. I'm so grateful for the cheer these bells bring to the neighborhood. Dare I say that it transports me to Europe every time the bells chime? It's that good. If you're looking to visit the Landmarks Center, they roll out the red carpet every other month for first Friday. Can't wait to take our kiddos next month.

Allison Mansion is, at least in my opinion, deceptively ordinary on the outside. Oh sure, it's a…read moremansion and you can tell it's a mansion. However, looking on the outside can't begin to prepare you for the wonder of what's on the inside of this former residence that now serves as the Office of the President for Indy's Marian University. The mansion was first built by James Allison, co-founder of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500. The ceiling's Tiffany stained glass windows allow the sun to shine brightly inside. The mansion's most impressive room was, in fact, originally designed as a marble aviary by Allison to contain his wife's exotic bird collection. The 2-story, red-brick arts and craft style home continues to have an expensive chandelier imported from Germany, a sunken conservatory, and a 2-story pipe organ. Seriously. The property itself is remarkable. Atop a cliff that overlooks a wetland, the property includes greenhouses, ponds, and orchards. Seriously, I would become Marian University's president just to spend time in the office. Allison passed away in 1928 and the property remained unsettled until it was acquired by the Sisters of St. Francis - the founders of Marian University. At one point, public tours were offered but this is no longer the case. You can, however, rent it for events (which is how I've been inside, though it's definitely not wheelchair friendly in any real sense).

One reviewer stated "The Allison Mansion remains perfectly restored and beautiful to an almost eerie degree." Eerie alright--there is a disquiet about the Mansion: it is said to be haunted! Builder James Allison was a wealthy man and founder of the Indianapolis Speedway and Allison Engineering Company. The mansion was built between 1911 and 1914 and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Allison died young from pneumonia at age 56. The mansion was later sold to what is now Marian University,. However, many locals and visitors feel that Allison never really left the building! Most stories claim Allison still haunts the mansion, rearranging books in the library and furniture as he sees fit. But there are other ghostly goings-on here: the spirit of a little girl who drowned in the basement pool still lingers around the mansion. "Visitors claim to have seen the ghost of a little girl and even heard shrill screams and heartbreaking cries from the basement. Voices in the attic have also been reported," said www.onlyinyourstate.com. I can understand the ghost of Allison hanging around: this place is plush! No expense was spared while building the two-story, red-brick, arts-and-crafts-style Mansion. The exquisite marble aviary was built for Allison's first wife's exotic bird collection, Also impressive: the expensive chandelier imported from Germany, a sunken conservatory, and a magnificent music room with a two-story pipe organ. Outdoors, enjoy lush gardens, manicured lawns, greenhouses, ponds, and orchards that overlook a wetland now restored and maintained by Marian University. Upon Allison's death, there was some concern about the historic property's fate. Bless the Catholics: Allison Mansion was eventually acquired by the Sisters of Saint Francis, who also founded Marian University. Allison Mansion is still part of the university. It is open for public tours and can also be rented for private events. The Mansion is a feature on annual Halloween Ghost Tours. 5 YELP STARS for spooky spectacular!

416 Wabash is one of the more unique event spaces I have been to. Located on the east side of…read moredowntown, it looks like a very unassuming building on the outside. Once you step inside, it feels like you have stepped into some kind of underground nightclub. I don't know the history of the building but it probably was an industrial space of some sort. With the presence of the disco ball you couldn't help but feel a retro vibe. I have been to 416 Wabash for corporate events and fundraisers. There are several bars throughout and abundant space for a dance floor. I always enjoy hanging out in the balcony and looking down at the stage and crowd.

The venue itself is perfect for a show like this. The stage in the center, a few rows of VIP seats and standing room. I think this would be a great location for a party!
