We have traveled all summer with Luke playing golf and stayed at some wonderful places. The Whittaker Inn set a new standard of excellence. Elizabeth, the Owner, was so gracious and helpful. We were there for a full week. The spacious rooms were very clean, the property was well maintained, the staff were very friendly and Tom's cook to order breakfast was awesome. We were in town for the Junior PGA golf tournament and it was so nice to have a hearty breakfast every morning to start on a good note. Squeezed in a couple games of pool and had a delicious filet for dinner on our last night there. We loved getting to know Chip too. Obviously I highly recommend The Whittaker Inn. read more

This is an outstanding Bed and Breakfast with spectacular cuisine and comfortable surroundings, minutes north of the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. Breakfast was included in our stay and we also took advantage of the dinner (at Additional cost ). This was a tremendous way to spend a weekend on campus in a far more comfortable environment than a hotel. Elizabeth and Andrew of the Whittaker inn are incredible hosts. Truly an amazing hidden gem in West Lafayette. Our grandparents live in the community that shares the same road as this establishment and if it wasn't for that and their recommendation, we would have never known about or utilized it for celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. Reservations were easy to make and we were treated like VIPs from the moment we arrived until we departed. We were greeted, brought to our own private dining area, given a private menu to order from, and fed/treated like family. Breaking bread there was great and returning there every now and then has been incredible. Highly recommend as both a dining experience and an amazing place to lay your head at night when in the West Lafayette area. read more

Our first stay at this lovely and pleasant inn. They have small touches that make is extra nice. Breakfast served to your room for one and all made to order. Great meal too! Comfortable bed and accommodating care such as making sure we did not have feather pillows. My wife is very sensitive to feathers and pet dander. The room we had was dog friendly which is usually death for her, but the hardwood floors and cleanliness made it a non-issue! Great AC, though we could use a heavier comforter it was a quiet and pleasant nights sleep. Love the night kitchen and special hot drinks. Love gummie bears and cookies too. They make you feel very welcome and we hope to be back! read more

Beautiful rooms. It is located in a secluded area, but just a short drive from Purdue and other attractions. The owners are very involved. They mingle at dinner and make sure everything is just right. And the food is a-mazing! Dinner has lots of choices and all sound great. I have not tried everything yet. The included breakfast is so good!! The grounds are forested and lots of wildlife roam around. We have seen several deer when strolling the grounds. Wonderful quaint Inn you'd never find without knowing the area. This Inn has a friendly staff, great food and wonderful service. I visit family frequently but since I travel with my dog prefer staying at the hotel So as not to inconvenience family. The Whittaker Inn has tremendous warmth and charm. Elizabeth and Andrew welcome guests with homemade cookies and to a bnb feel with all the modern hotel amenities and more. We came to town for a funeral and received friendly smiles and support along with some of the finest meals we have had in awhile. Each breakfast is made and available exactly to each guests preference. We enjoyed a dinner that made us feel like we were in another country. the salmon was cooked exactly as I like it and the risotto was superb. my husbands fish and chips was better than we had in London. for anyone in the area or visiting Purdue- make a reservation! read more

This is a fantastic local inn - very convenient to Purdue. The owner personally took care of us and clearly took pride in the inn. Each room was beautifully decorated and themed- we stayed in the Tanzania room. We had a spa shower and beautiful amenities. The food was delicious - especially the carefully prepared breakfast that we ordered the night before. We loved the board games and hanging out on the patio. My wife and I had a wonderful stay here in 2022. Everything was great! Our room was first rate and the service we got was both friendly and attentive. As someone who had previous lived in the area for 29 years, I was greatly surprised, pleased and relieved that my wife and I could find such agreeable accommodations. I can't imagine staying in Tippecanoe County again and not staying at the Whittaker. It was great! Our only disappointment was that the room (and as far as I can tell via wed pages, all of their rooms) don't have bathtubs. Nevertheless, it is a great place and encourage all to stay there! read more

Came to Lafayette for the Feast of the Hunter's Moon and chose the Whittaker as a treat. It seemed like it would be a cut above and it definitely met expectations! The cooked to order breakfasts were excellent and dinner was fantastic as well. The rooms were cozy while also being clean and modern. We loved the roomcast which let us watch what we were used to. The rooms are beautiful! Each has a theme related to a country and all are decorated to the theme. No two rooms are alike. The detail from the fabrics, rugs, wall decor and other elements is incredible. I was fortunate enough to stay in the New York room. It was roomy, pretty and so comfortable. The rainhead shower was a delightful surprise and I love the choice of The Beekman 1802 products for the amenities - great products! The food was delicious!! Service was impeccable! My husband and I were in town to visit our sons who attend Purdue. Location was very close and accessible to all parts of campus. The accommodations are very well thought out in the king sized room (Canada) that we stayed in. The amenities in the room were nice and the decor fit perfectly with the theme of our room. Breakfast is cooked to order and is a great breakfast that can be delivered to room or eaten in restaurant. So many options for breakfast (full not a continental you find at most places). Service was top notch from arranging to have a fridge in my room, to a personalized note and cookies for my birthday. This is a new home away from home, we left with future reservations made for our return. Cannot say enough about this gem. read more

Stunning Inn, really a period piece although recently constructed, with an excellent restaurant and really lovely, spacious rooms. Feels very isolated but is only a few minutes from downtown Lafayette and even closer to the Purdue campus. We spent several days while visiting our daughter for the holidays but I would strongly recommend the Whittaker for anyone, and that would even include people who just want a break from home in a romantic spot! Breakfast was delicious, and included, but do try the dinner too: the chef cooks classic American dishes but has quite a deft hand and everything we tried was fantastic. This is "Luxury in Lafayette" We found this inn spur of the moment. Traveling in Indiana, stopped in Lafayette wanting to stay but tired of "hotel hustle" life. Found the Whittaker and was exactly what we were looking for! Quiet, Relaxing,modern like home experience! The rooms are beautiful and themed with modern amenities with warm unique custom touches of art, linens and detail. Rooms are large with tall ceilings on 2nd floor, air conditioned and fans are very nice for the summer and work well! The night time kitchen was perfect too and love that it has both 1st and 2nd floor locations! The common areas has plenty to do from games,pool tables, peaceful patio with the quiet nature surrounding the properties. Small walking path was great to stroll through after a custom ordered breakfast made by Chef Andrew that had all fresh ingredients with homemade jams! Everything from the coffee,omelettes down to the mixed berries was perfect. Elizabeth was attentive and just enough exposure. We never felt that she was over the top in our space, which is always a worry when you stay at a smaller scale inn. Easy check in and easy check out. She made us feel like it was our home away from home. We are thrilled to share with our family and friends and hope to stay again soon!! read more

We had the pleasure of staying at the Whittaker Inn for a week end early in March 2021. We attended a wedding in W. Lafayette and we arrived on Thursday evening. My husband had to work on Friday and he was in the private and comfortable conference room which was perfect. Elizabeth and her staff were incredibly gracious the entire week end. The rooms were beautiful and the shower was fabulous (we stayed in the India themed room)! The rehearsal dinner was held Friday evening and the tables were arranged socially- distanced and the inn looked lovely. The food was delicious , especially the made to order breakfast. We would highly recommend the Whittaker Inn and it is worth the trip to W. Lafayette to experience the unique and relaxing atmosphere!! read more
