We use their sub company simply served, which was a disaster. All they did was hideaway in their little back rooms, not cleaning tables, not filling water and they cut the cake wedding cake outside and they were flies all over it, just disgusting. And the reason the flies kept landing on things so they were only running two trays for about 200 guests leading to long lines no organization. The girl in charge was a complete disaster. The wedding was inside and so was the meal so why take the wedding cake out and cut it no idea other than they needed a place to sit inside the room they should've been working in shame on you Rich Charles!! read more

We booked a wedding venue thru The Ritz and when something went wrong with the venue and it delayed the wedding and dinner by 35-40 mins, they took no ownership and offered no remediation or compensation. The answer was that it wasn't their facility and they had no control. If you book them, make sure there is representation from the venue on site because The Ritz was very quick to step back from the situation instead of taking ownership of the whole event experience as they tout on their website. read more

I painted a wedding here little over a week ago and I'm very impressed! The Garden Pavilion is stunning with the floor to ceiling glass and soft color catching drapes hang from the ceiling. The staff is PROMPT and friendly, my goodness were they friendly! Miss Ruby's tables were close to my easel, she introduced herself and told me to let her know if there was anything I needed. I did not stay at the hotel but attended an event in the ballroom. This the second event I have been to here and both time have been delightful. I was busy so I really didn't take alot of pics. The room was beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff was very nice. We were able to use the adjacent room to rehearse and keep our belongings there. The Ritz Charles recently renovated since we got married a few years ago and the outside is a beautiful new color. There's also now two little outdoor patios with twinkle lights that the people renting out the indoor venues can use. The food is delicious and the location is incredibly convenient for guests, as there's now a brand-new hotel next door. Imagine how amazing that would be to just walk to your hotel room after a late-night wedding. Great spot! read more

Venue is beautiful and staff is awesome. My review is for the Hyatt Place Hotel. It is awful! Brides beware. You are better off going across the expressway to the hotels there. We were at one over there for the first night and made the HUGE mistake going to Hyatt Place for the night of wedding. What a difference. We booked our room through Hyatt directly. We changed our room type a few days before because my parents were staying with us. We tried to do it on Hyatt but felt it would be better to call hotel directly. They took the deposit several weeks before of $500. When we checked the 2 Queen beds it was $255. When we spoke to hotel front desk she was unable to do anything because the "deposit" was already taken. She told us to address it when we check in. Well, when we checked in we had a nice girl but again, she was unable to assist so gave us the GM (Emily Stone) business card. This is where the nasty and rudeness came in. First of all, Emily never returned our calls. She claimed we didn't leave our number BUT our number was on our reservation (if that was the case). She also clearly didn't understand the issue and referred us to group sales because we were there for a wedding. Group sales didn't understand either. Anyways, Emily Stone actually stated we never spoke to any of her staff when we did to change our room and when we arrived. Another thing we found out and this is for the Bridal Party...According to Rita in group sales, they have several different rates for the party so it doesn't matter if one of your guests book for $200 the other one may get hit with a $400 rate. BEWARE!!! I thought I would leave you with a couple of Emily Stone's comments back to us. "If this is not about money, then I am not sure why this has continued as long as it has. You are extremely disrespectful. Have the day you deserve." "The rate is not being adjusted. It was never being adjusted. It will not in the future be adjusted. Their food is good, the staff is so courteous and friendly, and there's always room in the parking lot. Close to Carmel and a lot of hotels, I'd recommend it for any type of event. I've been to many conferences here over the years, and in my opinion this is a decent, middle of the road venue for such events. The facilities are clean, parking is plentiful and free, wifi is free and reasonably fast, and sound is good during presentations in the big ballroom. The seating is not super comfortable for an all day conference; the chairs are really more suitable for a reception or other event in which people are spending less time sitting. If seating is set up in long rows, it is also impossible to get out if not seated on the end of an aisle without having everyone in the row move; a set up with round tables works much better. Conference food is fine; I've had breakfasts and hot plated lunches as well as sandwich buffet lunches here. It is normal conference fare; nothing too exciting, but not bad! For presenters, the platform for the podium is a little wobbly as are the stairs leading to the speaker's platform, but they do provide a railing next to the stairs! The laptop provided is fine, and speakers can also plug in their own laptops; both PC and Apple seem to work fine! read more

Despite the fact that the wait staff seemed to be predominantly teenagers, service was uber cordial and polite with "Yes ma'ams" and "Sir, would you like more water?" I attended a banquet with 350+ in attendance and this proved to be the perfect venue. Lots of parking, clean facilities, space to spread out - it never once felt like we were packed in like sardines. I am determined to host an event at this place one day. It's an all-out, classy place for a wedding and/or reception. For weddings, it's basically all inclusive (including cake and champagne). Ideal for the bride who doesn't want to deal with multiple vendors. It didn't work well for us as a wedding venue because of their minimums. We would've liked to have had a 40-50 person dinner reception after the wedding (at $65 per person), however, for the Saturday night minimum (I think $7500), you need to invite at least 100 people to meet that (which was out of our price range). Updating to 5 stars: After comparing apples to apples on reception costs, the Ritz is still more expensive than other venues, however not by so much that the extra cost is extravagant. For slightly more you will a get better overall venue experience if you can overcome the sticker shock. We decided to book the Ritz! read more

I attended my sister-in-law's wedding at the Ritz recently. I have to say the meal was hands down the best wedding meal I've ever eaten - even over my own which I thought was awesome. I know you are thinking, "that's not saying much! wedding food sucks!" but seriously I would have paid good money for this meal at a restaurant. Teriyaki glazed salmon with some kind of potato-carrot puree and mixed veggies (asparagus, zucchini, etc). Plus, our server was just amazing. She personally introduced herself and explained exactly what our young son would be getting to eat, asked if he would like something to drink, and checked in on him throughout the event. They even brought him sparking cider for the champagne toast. Such a nice touch. And when he wiped out in the lobby playing with his uncles, they brought him an ice pack. The decor inside is quite lovely. The only negative I'll say is the bathrooms could use updating. I'm not sure how they are to deal with on the event planning side, but I'd venture to guess great. My new brother-in-law is a DJ who has done many events here and he has nothing but great things to say about them. read more

We have catered events at our home for decades through the Ritz Charles. In the last 2 weeks, we've had two events catered at our home, and they did a beyond fabulous job! We couldn't be more happy with them - they are a spectacular organization - the servers are so kind and professional, the food is prepared on-site at our home in their trucks and is unbelievably delicious as well as beautiful! Its amazing - they clean-up and are gone, and we cant even tell we had a big event - everything is clean and perfect again! We have used them so many times and have never had anything than a stellar performance by them - they are just the very best. You get that from a family started business who has family running its operations and watching over every detail beacuse of the pride they have in their work. I had my wedding here early this summer and wow! My event specialist made everything so easy! They had great ideas and helped make my vision come true. When I saw the room on my big day I was so impressed. One of the servers, Scott, took special care of the head table and made sure we all had food and drinks. My husband and I currently live in Colorado, but we are originally from Indiana. We wanted to find a venue for our wedding reception that would make it easy to plan from afar. After looking at several venues, it was quite clear that Ritz Charles was the place for us! They made everything extremely simple, from hosting a tasting night for future brides where we could see table settings, taste several entrees and cake flavors, as well as view cakes and other wedding ideas. We also were able to set up a private tasting to narrow down our appetizers, which was fabulous! Ritz Charles also did our cake for us, which made it easy to not have to find a separate bakery. I questioned this at first, but they did not disappoint! I gave them a picture of an ombre cake I had found on Pinterest, and the result was exactly what I had wanted! Our guests were extremely pleased with the service at our wedding. The entire staff was very kind and helpful to make our reception events flow seamlessly. Working with the staff throughout our planning process was really convenient, because most of our communication was through email rather than in-person visits. I went to the Ritz Charles with one goal in mind: to get my party on with my coworkers. Work rented out the Ritz Charles to throw a glorious 20th anniversary party and it was truly spectacular! The Ritz Charles not only sounds fancy, but it IS fancy. The venue is incredibly spacious and room for just about everything you can imagine, and this is just talking about the main hall. The venue has plenty of parking and is easy to navigate to off of 31. You can actually see it from the highway. There is a beautiful lobby where you are greeted by an employee who then directs you to wherever your function is, and when you walk in, it's hard to imagine such a large amount of room for people. They had Vegas-style gambling everywhere, alongside delicious fingers food, ranging from shrimp puffs to broiled meats to potato skins to stuffed mushrooms. It was all delicious. There was a large stage where a band played and plenty of seating available to everyone. The wait staff were all on their A game, catering to every need you could fathom. If you're looking for a place to throw a large event to cater to a large amount of people, I highly recommend the Ritz Charles. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Had a party of 8 at their Easter Brunch last weekend...how hard is it to do a breakfast buffet???? A paltry amount of fruit on a small tray with horrific pastries. Eggs on the buffet that were Egg Beaters. No bread/croissants/muffins of any kind. Nasty salami salad no one should have touched. Rubbery salmon. Dessert buffet with eclairs (like from Costco), pistachio pudding, carrot cake and chocolate cake...no cute Easter cookies, cupcakes. Drove 3 hours to be with my son on Easter. We went to the Ritz Charles for Easter brunch. Had to make the reservations on the phone and prepay by credit card and was told I would be charged even if I did not show up. There were three seating times , ours was to be at 10:30am. When we arrived the entry way was packed as they had not started seating anyone. When I checked in they did not have my name. Finally at 11:00 we were seated only after I had to complain that we were the only ones that had not been seated and we were just left to stand looking stupid while the staff tried to look away from us. When we were taken into the dining area there were empty tables all over. It really did not get any better. For a price of $26.95 a person the food was a total disappointment. The service was poor. Very poor. I would and will never go back to this place again. If you want over cooked ham and undercooked turkey then this is your place. I can honestly say the only good food they had was the fresh made omlets. The rest of the food was not worth eating. Even the coffee was served cold. read more

My wedding consultant, Meghan, was a pleasure to work with from the very start. In the months leading up to my wedding, she was so helpful to answer my seemingly unending questions and thoughts promptly and with professionalism. They served a delicious plated lunch to our guests and allowed us to bring in pies for dessert from an outside vendor. They have a variety of options from buffet to plated and lunch to dinner that would be helpful for many wedding budgets. Furthermore, the setup of the venue was very easy with my parents coming from out of town to help.
