Working with Love, Leon (formerly Krauter photography) was the most stressful part of planning our wedding. We were profoundly disappointed with the lack of client-care, honesty and communication throughout the entire process, even in the delivery of photos. We hired Lauren + Casey because we liked their style, we wanted a husband/wife duo and we wanted Indy locals (we live in Los Angeles, our wedding was in my hometown of Indianapolis). We were happy to hear that Lauren, like us, felt it was important to meet in-person to talk vision + prep before the wedding. We agreed to meet in the June and July months when I was scheduled to fly home to Indianapolis. After hiring Love, Leon and putting down our 50% deposit, we felt that Lauren's interest in us and our wedding ended. At the beginning of June, I reached out to Lauren to set + confirm our first in-person meeting. Lauren informed us that she and her husband (2nd shooter) were moving to Germany at the end of the week and she would be unable to meet until the afternoon before my wedding day. As I probed further, she admitted that Casey was no longer available to shoot the wedding and she had already hired a new 2nd shooter. When I searched for this photographer online, I came up blank. There was no Instagram, no website, no reviews and no verifiable online presence of her work. Lauren supplied us with two private links to photos, but asked me to "trust her on this one" even though she had never shot a wedding with this person. We begged for our deposit back. Because so much had changed, we wanted to go with another photographer and part ways with no hard feelings. She refused to make an exception and informed us that she would be keeping our deposit regardless of our decision. We didn't have the budget to pay another photographer without getting that $1,650 deposit back, so we had to proceed with Lauren and try to make the best of this new situation. Her demeanor on the day-of was good and she handled herself well with our bridesmaid photos. The only thing that struck me as odd & unprofessional was when she asked the Matron of Honor to buy her an Uber home during the reception. After delivering the photo galleries, we noticed that a vast majority of the family and group shots were blurry. The trees behind us were focused, but all of our faces were out-of-focus. I reached out to Lauren asking for sharper versions that were suitable for printing and using in a photo book. At this point, she admitted that she had made a mistake with her camera during our group photo session and she did not have any in-focus photos of our wedding party, the bride's family, the bride + groom's family or my grandparents. I was stunned. I reached out to some professional photographer friends to see if anyone could salvage the images. I received an overwhelming response that this was not a camera setting issue, but rather a fundamental photography-skill issue. A photographer may occasionally slip into back-focus for one or two frames out of a hundred, but anyone who bills themselves as a professional would see this mistake after a shot or two and fix it immediately on-site preventing further blurry photos. They were all stunned to find out that she hadn't fixed it on-location, and further than she hadn't owned up to the rookie mistake upon delivery. She waited to see if we would catch it. The whole thing just doesn't sit well with me. All this to say - Love, Leon added stress to the wedding process rather than alleviating it. Maybe it was a one-time mistake, but I wouldn't recommend taking that risk on your wedding day. If you're a bride or groom who values communication, transparency and an overall positive experience in wedding planning, I would urge you to explore other photographers in Indy. **NOTE: As a courtesy, I let Lauren know in advance that we would be sharing our honest experience on this platform. In response, she offered + provided a 50% refund for the $3,600 contract and apologized as she understands that nothing can replace the fact that these images were not captured. Our experience with Love, Leon was exceptional, and we are so glad Lauren and Casey were with us to capture all of the amazing moments from our wedding day! They were well prepared and always seemed to know exactly what shots would work, which really helped us execute efficiently (that is saying a lot considering we took pictures with our family). Anyone who's been through the wedding-planning process before knows that the moment you get engaged, you're BOMBARDED by a mass of people claiming to be "professional" wedding photographers. As such, I was understandably hesitant to look into Lauren and Casey's photography after my husband (and Casey's coworker) suggested we hire them for both our engagement photos and our big day. Once I ventured to their website to check out their work, I was blown away with their picture quality and editing skills! More importantly, their photography was the exact "look" I had been seeking. I LOVE their use of natural light and the warm look and feel of their photos--especially since I'm not a fan of the current dark and moody photography trend. Some of the best advice we received while wedding-planning was to allow ourselves to splurge on wedding photography, and I'm SO glad we listened. Your wedding photography is something that you, your family, and your future family will cherish and look at often. Therefore, it should beautifully and candidly capture the emotions and details of the day, as well as the personalities of both the bride and groom. In order to do so, you need a photographer that knows exactly what they're doing--like Lauren and Casey. Both our engagement photos and wedding photos were gorgeous, and turned out better than we ever anticipated! Our big day was full of countless happy tears and endless laughter, and Lauren and Casey captured each instance perfectly. Further, and most notably, we felt comfortable with Lauren and Casey because they allowed us to have fun and just be ourselves (i.e., no picture was too posed). We may come off as biased when we say our wedding photos are some of the best we've ever seen; however, our wedding was months ago and we STILL receive compliments on our photos! read more

Love, Leon was the second major decision Richard and I made for the wedding. No style, theme, ect had been decided on but as soon as I saw one of their photographs I felt something inside I had never felt before. And I knew that feeling was what I wanted for our wedding. The images are more than just a photo - they tell a story of true love. So delicate but so strong. They capture a feeling, not just a moment in time. I am not very comfortable in front of a camera but 5 minutes into our engagement session it was like we were hanging out with our best friend. Lauren made us feel so comfortable! These feelings transitioned into the wedding day as well. She has a way of calming all the nerves inside so that you can focus on the day! After seeing photos of a friend's wedding, we knew we HAD to have Love Leon as our photographer. We wanted real photos of our day, and we wanted to look like us. We knew we would get photos that checked all our boxes, but what we didn't know is that we were getting an advocate and friend. We were lucky enough to know Lauren and Casey personally prior to asking them to photograph our wedding. We knew that they shared our passions for nature, adventure, and authenticity- those things ended up shining through in a big way in our wedding photos. "Unreal" is the only word I can use to describe some of my favorite shots. We didn't come prepared with dozens of ideas of photos we wanted, but Lauren and Casey knew just how to direct us, in a way that didn't leave us feeling unnatural, and capture moments that really showcased genuine character and love. Krauter Photography (Now, Love Leon) was the first thing we booked after we set the wedding date. Our friends used them for their wedding and we were obsessed at how perfectly they captured their love that we had to have them! They didn't disappoint. I've never seen more beautiful pictures IN MY LIFE. And we are probably biased because they are pictures of us and all of the people that we love, but they truly captured every detail, every kiss, every laugh, every moment that we could've possibly wanted. The image that we had of our wedding day in our heads was completely blown out of the water compared to the beautiful pictures they captured. The photos are ethereal, whimsical, forrest-y. The photos embodied us. We couldn't have felt anymore like a little woodland fairy couple just sprinkling our love all over nature (cheesy but it's appropriate). Magic. That's what Lauren and Casey bring. Since moving into our new home a couple months ago, I have been looking forward to doing an intimate in-home session to capture the start of our next adventure in this place. When Lauren and Casey arrived at our home to photograph our newborn son, I was admittedly a little nervous about how things would go.
