This was my favorite ride at the OG Universal Studios Florida. It's cheeky, self referential and fourth wall breaking in the best ways. The pre-show was a hoot even if the AC in that stuffy little room seemed to be broken. And just like I thought the ride itself had callbacks to the pre-show. Even in the ride vehicle itself the fourth wall was somewhat peeled back. I could see the contours of the huge imax screen and looking far off to each side and upwards I could see a bit of all the other motion simulators lined up in a grid. The simulation of a janky roller coaster was more fun and exciting than actual roller coasters I've been on, including Escape from Gringotts in this very park. Very meta, too. Lots of riffs on the whole theme park experience, including a little swipe at Disney, acknowledgments of the greed of the business and a reference to the ride exiting into a gift shop... which surprisingly didn't happen! I'm not a huge fan of the Sideshow Bob episodes but I'll allow it seems a good fit for an amusement park ride and there were other visuals and bits of storyline to chew on. Satire, dumb jokes and a whirlwind of motion through colorful, wild frames. Honestly, Transformers is probably objectively the best motion simulator ride Universal has but I like the IP here so much better I'm just more partial to it. Maybe if I rode several times the jokes would get old and I'd like something with more pure thrills better but with just one ride a piece I enjoyed Simpsons a great deal more than Transformers and Transformers I gave 5 stars as well. It's crazy to think the show might be around longer than this ride though. Will the Simpsons ride be around for season 50? Will the show? Season 60? Never fear, we've got stories for years... This is the ride I wished we skipped. There's so much more to do with our time. Much of the line queue is outside and at times directly in the sun or other weather elements. Once counted off we were shuffled to 2-3 unique sections; however, there's little notice that we should be paying attention to certain screens playing animated cartoons giving the ride's storyline. We discovered this is another simulator thrill and if I'm eating that part alone, it wasn't bad and there's some funny commentary given by Homer. The seat holds up to 8 people - some in the front seat, some in the back. We were in the back and had other people's heads in our way, which took away from the feeling of being part of the action. It was like seeing how the magician does their trick. Overall this felt like an outdated carnival attraction as compared to other Universal thrills. read more

Still fun, but not much there for returning riders past a few "oh, missed that" rides. Built on the bones of the old Back to the Future ride, it's an 8-person rollercoaster car ride through an animated theme park. The queue is fun and sets the stage for the ride if you have enough time in line to see it. It isn't as popular as it once was, so the line can go pretty quickly at times. Speaking of the old BTTF bones, the queue has you waiting mostly outside in shaded heat cooled by older circulating fans...it can get pretty hot in the summer months. The inside queue is pretty brief, but well done. On a balmy day, you're pretty sticky by the time you sit down for this one and doubtful your sweat has dried before you're back out in the heat again. Overall? Fun enough, but it's in the MIB corner where some refreshes need to happen to keep them relevant and enjoyable for repeated visits. read more

Decent Fun, But Not a Must-Do The Simpsons Ride is a solid attraction, especially for fans of the show. The humor is classic Simpsons--quirky, irreverent, and packed with references longtime viewers will appreciate. The queue area is entertaining too, with fun clips and themed decor that help pass the time. That said, the ride itself feels a bit dated. The motion simulator is decent, but the graphics could use an upgrade, and the experience can be a little rough if you're sensitive to jerky movements. It's not the most thrilling ride in the park, and if you're not a Simpsons fan, it might not leave a lasting impression. The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios is the definition of bittersweet. On one hand, it's a loud, chaotic, brilliantly animated simulator that throws you headfirst into Springfield. On the other hand? It replaced Back to the Future: The Ride, and some of us are still in mourning. Let's start with the good: the queue is packed with Simpsons gags, the pre-show is funny, and the ride itself is classic Springfield madness--Krustyland falling apart, Sideshow Bob on a rampage, Homer screaming like it's his side hustle. It's less theme park attraction, more fever dream sponsored by Duff Beer. The animation is sharp, the jokes land, and if you love The Simpsons, it's basically stepping into a 20-minute episode. But--and it's a big but--it's still just a motion simulator. The real thrill is watching your stomach try to file for divorce halfway through. The building originally housed Back to the Future: The Ride, which opened in 1991 and was a fan favorite until it got paved over by Springfield in 2008. Disney now owns The Simpsons thanks to the Fox deal, but Universal's pesky agreements keep this ride parked in Orlando like a squatter who refuses to move. So yes, Mickey technically owns Homer now--but Universal still cashes the rent checks. The Simpsons Ride is proof Universal can make Disney money while still trolling them daily. The Simpsons Ride is loud, chaotic, and fun, but it'll never stop being the ghost of Back to the Future. It's Springfield done right, but Doc Brown is still haunting the place. Definitely a ride you'd go on with kids but if not, probably a ride that you'd only go on once and again only if you are with other people that have never been on it. Wait times can range between 30-60 minutes, but overall it's not too bad if you are keeping an eye on the Universal app. The ride isn't too intense - it jolts a little but it's mostly animatronic based. I am not a Simpsons fan so all of Krustyland was sort of lost on me, unfortunately! Even with our fast pass, we still ended up waiting about 20 minutes for this ride and I did not think it was worth it. It's not my kind of humor and even in the safety video/pre-show there was a lot of that and I just wasn't into it, sadly! The ride was a little too intense of a simulation for me as well and I normally like simulation rides. But here, I had to close my eyes at points because it got a little too intense! I think it's in large part because you get into a "car" and feel super boxed in and so you have a very forced tunnel vision kind of limited view and the whole combination just wasn't great for me. I had a friend in my group who was a huge fan of The Simpsons though and she absolutely loved this ride! So I think if you're a fan of The Simpsons, you would thoroughly enjoy this ride! read more

The Simpsons Ride is one of my favorites at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. Both locations have the same ride. It is a 4D ride. If you get motion sickness easily, I'd recommend avoiding. The Simpsons Ride is located next to Men In Black and Transformers. We had the express pass, but the wait wasn't too bad, under 10 minutes. The standby queue was pretty cool. It was Simpsons themed and had TVs, showing clips of the Simpsons ride. Once you're inside the building, there is a pre-show that you can view on the screens, almost like a circus themed room, and then you are provided another room to enter, which is relatively a lot smaller. Here you'll get to view another show of what's exactly is going on in Simpson's neighborhood, Springfield. There is also a very funny clip of all of the safety requirements for the ride. Once seated in the ride, you're brought up to a huge screen. You truly feel like you're on a rollercoaster. There is a lot of quick movements on this ride and you can easily feel a little queasy afterwards. You'll be flying through Springfield and seeing a lot of your favorite characters. It's worth the wait if you're able to squeeze in time for The Simpsons Ride. read more

The Simpsons Ride is one of those rides that every time I go to Universal I end up going on reluctantly, even though 9 out of 10 times I end up getting horrible motion sickness from it. I'm giving this Ride 3 stars because while the thinning and ride are great, it is a generic motion simulator ride that is a little too jerky and something that is very easy to walk past and Skip and you won't have to worry about missing anything important. The filming of this ride is absolutely phenomenal when it comes to the queue and interior when you are waiting to board the ride. It is a very winding queue that has televisions on the bottom floor that do little scenes based around Krustyland. Once you get a little bit higher off the ground everything becomes very boring and a lot of the queue is outside in the sun which is another reason I have to take it star off. When it comes to Florida and their weather I feel like a ride should definitely have more covering to protect their guests. The ride itself is okay once it starts because the screen itself always seems to be blurry if you are not dead center of the giant theater. It is a very jerky ride and if you get motion sickness very easily I definitely recommend skipping this ride. There are many other rides that are motion simulators and movable that I can go on but for some reason this ride never agrees with me. Any fan of the Simpsons will appreciate this section of the park. There is a Simpsons area in both Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood - they have some differences, but generally have the same. Some things in Hollywood are better than this as well as there's some things here better than Orlando. The one notable difference is the food. They do offer the same as Hollywood (Cleatus' chicken, Krustyburger, etc), but unlike Hollywood where each location has its own space, this one has the store fronts but ends up being basically one large cafeteria of sorts. You have to stand in this long line before you can order - and hope once you pay for your food, that you can find a table during a crowded time. The food itself is actually good (unlike other theme park food), but predictably overpriced. I wanted to eat here, but it was a crowded day and raining - meaning there was no open tables. If you have several people with you, you can always have someone find a seat and hold it. It was only my son and myself, so I didn't have that luxury and I eventually went off line because there would be no point in paying for food only to have nowhere to sit to eat it. I would imagine it was quality like it's Hollywood counterpart, though again, not cheap. The rest of Simpsons/Springfield land has the usual - the games, the Simpsons 4D ride, the various things to look at, the shops, etc. I was disappointed they removed the photo op with the couch (at least I didn't see it). There are up to 6 characters around the area at certain times (Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Krusty, Sideshow Bob) for meets/pictures. The Kang & Kodos Twirl ride is also here and much like the rest of the area, there is plenty to look at with humorous detail. They sell the Simpsons donut here - both the large and normal sized versions. Besides the shops here, there's also Simpsons merchandise at the Universal Store near the entrance if you miss you chance here. Located in the Universal Studios part of Universal Orlando Resort. From Moe's to Duff, this is great for any fan of the Simpsons. Surely one of my favorites in either Universal Studios park. Easily worth a visit for any fan or even non fan. read more

This is a cute ride and the carnival theme is consistent throughout. 5 minute animated ride takes you on a journey as Bob tries to destroy the Simpsons. Entry is through the large Krusty Land entrance, unless you have Front of the Line. All of the Simpson characters appear on this ride. PROS + great simulator ride + action packed ride CONS - not suited for people who get motion sickness easily - wait time is usually long Fun experience for The Simpsons fans and non-fans alike. 20 minute wait was fine, but the ride itself actually made me motion sick! I usually don't have problems with moving virtual rides, but this one the video was moving so fast it was making me dizzy. About half way through the ride I was wishing it was over. The wait for the ride was long. 90 minutes plus. the ride is a 4d simulation ride. It WILL make you sick. Even my family who doesn't get motion sickness all of them ended up sick. I about threw up on the ride. It was pretty bad. Some of the employees at other rides said the simpsons is the worst ride in the park for possible motion sickness. I didn't personally find this ride to be worth the wait. My husband is a massive simpsons fan and i am not sure he really thought it was worth it either. This is an amazing ride where the theming encapsulates not only the queue and entire experience of the ride, but the entire Universal Simpsons universe. It seems to all thread together perfectly. So, after thirty plus years, if you want to experience the world of Bart, Homer, and the entire family, go on this ride! The line is always very long, no matter what. And the wait seems to always be longer than the posted time, so be aware. I have never had a short wait, but the kids do not mind since the cartoons are running on the outside of the line. Once inside, the story line of the ride seems to begin, so pay close attention to all of the details. Especially when they put your party in a room for the opening animation clip. This ride will make you feel a bit tipsy. Warning, be aware that most people in the reviews are reporting motion sickness, and I always feel the effects afterwards. That should not stop you. The witchcraft behind the movie magic and effects is rather amazing. You are a part of the Simpsons cartoon world and want to stay. This is also a 4D ride, be aware the effects are not just through motion, but smell as well. After this ride, take some time to admire how well themed the rest of the land is. The kids needed some Lard Lad donuts which are easily transportable in a box for later. They are also very fresh and very delicious. Take some time for the many photo opps both in the line and outside the ride. They also serve other themed food. Intresting tip of this location - they sell ponchos! I found myself under the big head in the middle during a downpour of rain in a FL night. And the lady running the basketball challenge mentioned that they had ponchos for sale. The donuts are pretty good, the ride is fun and its never boring, I feel like I see new things every time I go. The store sells everything a Simpsons fan could ever want, just don't spend too much on the carnival trickery games. What are you gonna do with a huge stuffed Bart anyways? read more

Superb Simulation after fast & Furious... One of my favorites at universal studios! we have visited this in off season so it was only 10 minutes wait for us. Lucky us :) as people have waited even 2-3 hours for this ride in peak season Love the simulator. When we got on the line, it was moving pretty slowly, but after about 20 minutes they opened up a new line for us and we were the first ones who got to head up the ramps. I love how they have constant clips running throughout the time you're in the queue. Simulated motion with Simpsons characters that "Interact" with you via video while you're in the interior queue. when we were in the lift, they show a cartoon and it was hilarious. After the little video in the room, you move on to the ride. You sit in a little car that tosses and turns during the simulation. It was like the whole room became a video. It was constant movement, which eventually got to me, but the video was great. The funny storyline and you really feel like you're in the video. the ride itself is a simulated ride, but it is great and will bounce you around even more than Spiderman. In fact, I believe it might be the best-simulated ride in the park along with Fast & Furious. You fly through Springfield and meet all the characters and have a wild experience. up and down, feels like your stomach is empty. You sit in a giant Krusty with two rows of 4, the ride goes up and down to a simulated roller coaster with a lot of stop-and-goes along the way. Even though it's a simulated ride, and an animated cartoon, it's so amazingly realistic that you feel as if you are on a moving coaster. Drops, dips, crazy movements. I can't be 100% sure, but this felt like one of the longer rides in the park and for a 20-minute wait it was well worth it Rating - 9/10 read more

The Simpsons Ride is easily my least favorite ride at Universal Studios and the entire Universal park portfolio as well. Though I do think Krustyland is one of the best themed areas of the park, I am sad to say the ride doesn't live up to its hype. It's really not that bad of a ride, but this indoor ride causes the most motion sickness out of any ride at the park, and I try to avoid the ride at all costs because it just gets me so dizzy! It's a great ride to check out if you have kids but wow does this thing get you dizzy. Again - I do love the theming of the ride and this entire area -- it's really well designed and you definitely want to check out the stores and food shops in this part of the park, but even if there is a low wait, I try not to ride this ride. I just wish it wouldn't make me as dizzy and I would really enjoy the ride! read more

A decent 3D simulator ride starring our friends from Simpson. Line took about 40 minutes. It was a bit underwhelming and had a few gimmicks like wind and water splashing. Honestly, they hype was just okay and it didn't really give me that much excitement while riding it. It's fun if you have time to kill, but there's so many other rides here that if you are smart about your time, you'd skip it and wait for another ride. If you're a Simpson's fan and enjoy their humor, it might interest you for a bit. There are definitely other 4D simulator rides in the park that surpass this one though. read more

A good time to hit the ride when the line is short is close to the fireworks show around 9pm. I did thoroughly enjoy the little gems that the waiting line areas provided for entertainment but as for the ride... the screen colors seemed pretty faded. Our vehicle thingy that we rode in was squeaky beyond belief and actually was the part of the ride that gave me the most anxiety. I also had a really hard time stomaching the whole video experience. Although I thought the storyline was fun... the actual overall experience was no Bueno. Go over to Moe's and get a beer... or a Flaming Moe... it'll be more worth your time. read more

The Simpsons Ride opened in 2008 replacing the classic Back to the Future Ride. They didn't change much in the actual ride but of course it's all Simpsons now with great themeing! You feel like you're right in Krustyland throughout the experience. This simulator ride can be a bit much for some people as it's simulating riding on a rollercoaster with tons of bumps, spins and drops along the way. I have no issue with it but most of my friends couldn't handle it. The ride is just about 4.5 minutes long and for me, fun the whole way thru! I think it's a cute ride but am a Simpsons fan so enjoyed everything about it! What started as just a ride in this section has become a whole Simpsons land with a bunch of Simpsons food places, a couple of watering holes, some carnival style games and shops including the iconic Kwik-E-Mart. The Simpsons area is one of my favorites at Universal, and the ride itself is a can't-miss for me. I love the show and I think they do such a great job with the classic replicas, and making you feel like you are actually in Springfield! The ride is themed around a roller coaster simulator at Krustyland, which has lots of crazy twists and turns to it. You'll also get to see the beloved characters that follow you along the journey. Even the queue line for the ride is fun! There are multiple TVs that show small clips from the show, and you'll spot different characters on your way up. The lines for this ride usually aren't too terrible either. If you get motion sickness easily, you may want to reconsider because this one moves around quite a lot. read more

Love 'em or hate 'em, they are far safer than a roller coaster and allow for more folks to pass through at a time, helping keep the lines shorter. Just before you enter the ride you get some of the backstory about the fictional theme park that Krusty the Klown has opened in Springfield. Naturally Sideshow Bob is in the vicinity, looking to exact revenge on the Simpson family. You're chased throughout the park and some of the well-known landmarks from the long-running show, with lots of jostling and water effects. What could go wrong at a family theme park? SIDE SHOW BOB! Anyone who is into the simpsons franchise will love this ride. Once you enter the queue line it's somewhat blank and lacks show themed props. Once you enter the actual building in the ride loading area you are introduced to two different screens and some krustland themed cutouts. Once you load into the ride instruction Zone you are met with a stretch mirror which gets me and my friends every time and fill the box with laughter. To not spoil to much side show bob has some tricks up his sleeve like usual to kill the simpsons. The ride vehicle it's self moves and a giant screen is where most of the action takes place. If you intend of riding this ride I recommend coming here first while grabbing a giant donut at kwik e mart early in the morning to avoid most of the crowd. read more
