Riding on the slot car thrill ride at Test Track at World Discovery at EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort.

We rode Test Track 3.0, presented by General Motors, which opened on July 22, 2025. It was awesome. This is in my top five favorite rides at EPCOT and top 10 in all of Disney World. My favorite parts are swerving and power-sliding through the forest, narrowly missing a tractor trailer, and then exiting outside where you ride at really high speeds. It's a lot of fun. I got a small rush from the outdoor portion. The ride is themed after the evolution of mobility and future concept designs, which I think is neat. After the ride, you walk through a car showroom (which I found uninteresting) and a gift shop. Tip: We rode this during Extended Evening Hours since we stayed at a Disney Deluxe Resort. On a non-holiday Monday, we entered the line at 9:58 PM and were in our six-seat vehicle by 10:18 PM. A 20-minute wait for a ride this popular is considered short, especially since Lightning Lane isn't an option during these late-night hours. Definitely check it out if you get a chance.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to ride in a GM commercial, you now have your answer. Test Track is a cool ride. The visuals are great, the ride itself is FAST and it's generally just a well done affair.......RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT until the end, as they take "exit through the gift shop" to a staggering new degree. You will exit through the sales floor, as you will LITERALLY walk through a GM DEALERSHIP on your way out of the building, replete with honest to god salespeople holding clipboards with promises of competitive APR financing. It's a nauseating display of pay to play advertising sponsorship that just detracts from the entire spectacle. And listen, lest you think I'm exaggerating or overselling this point, wait until you go yourself. You can literally walk off Test Track and then go buy a $70,000 GMC Yukon in under 10 minutes. As a ride, Test Track is a solid 4 stars. As an experience, it's significantly less, as it's the metaphorical equivalent to Disney and GM holding you upside down by your ankles, trying to shake the loose change out of your pocket.

Newly rebranded and reimagined Test Track as of July 2025. Test Track recently reopened to guests to experience the newly themed, storyline and updated to a more "today's" look about transportation, and General Motors is at the forefront of this. You get to see and learn how self driving cars "see", how electric vehicles could be customized in the future and even a look at future options for transportation (flying vehicles perhaps?). The physical track itself remains about the same with some of the same surprises and exhilarating speed. Welcome to 2025 Test Track and thank you for giving us a look at the beyond in transportation.

I love General Motor so I love test track. Waiting line was so long which it makes sense...If you need some adrenaline and excitement this is the ride to enjoy. We went through single riders only line which it eased the wait time in the long line...Still it was long! I enjoyed every second of it and because i love fast cars, speed and technology so this was one of my favorite rides in EPCOT!

Our wonky virtual car concept & its performance scores hehe

Got yanked around like a crash test dummy and I loved it! Test Track was definitely one of the funner rides at EPCOT. Before the ride, we designed a wonky virtual concept car to test. Once we buckled up, we went for a spin on the test track! It quickly became clear that our design didn't affect the track experience. Instead, the track revealed whose design performed best at each test in the circuit. There were plenty of sudden jerking movements indoors. At the end, we zoomed across the outdoor track at 65 mph! After the ride, we raced our car around a virtual track with other users. The line was 45 minutes long. I'd wait in line again if we had spare time!

My group of friends had a really fun experience on this ride! We were split into two groups of three and designed our cars. Then once we got on the ride (we all sat in one car, 3 in front, 3 in back), the ride was literally like a test track where new cars are tested for safety, efficiency, and best of all, SPEED! Your design doesn't have any effect on the ride, but as you go through the ride, it shows you your car design and rates it on screens. At the end, you get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place for overall design. I don't understand how our group's sleek car was 2nd place to our other friend group's Scooby Doo looking mystery machine design hahaha but that just made it funnier anyway.

What a great ride that has been around for a while. At the start you get to make your own car and play with different things that actually affect your score at the end of the ride. Then you get to use your car to do the testing in the ride, which is fast and jerks. It's really cool that you can make your car and then see how it actually performs. A must when you see in Epcot.

Great ride at Epcot. You get to design your own car and the properties that you assign to it gets tested in different conditions throughout the ride including the best part at the end, the speedy test around the track. For some reason this ride always has a very long wait, 45-90 mins I've waited before. It's a lot of fun, but I wouldn't wait over an hour for it. It also seems to have technical difficulties every time I go to Epcot and is temporarily closed for part of the day.

Probably the best "ride" at Epcot. You and 5 other passengers are placed in a "car" that zips through a course. This is the closest thing to a roller coaster in this park. You start by "building" your virtual car. This doesn't really affect the actual car you ride in, but at the end of the ride, they give you a score on how well your virtual car performs. When exiting, you walk through what seems like a Chevy dealership. TL/DR: the top attraction at Epcot as evidenced by the 90 minute wait in line. All the other rides were 15 minutes or less.

I enjoy it!!! It's an Ultimate Test Drive Cruise over (the Eastern side of Epcot) to the Chevrolet Design Center to create (before Covid) your own virtual concept car. When you're done, buckle up in a 6-passenger "SIM Car" and take it for a simulated excursion through the (dark) rigorous testing procedures that General Motors uses to evaluate its concept cars. Accelerate through rough terrain and obstacles along a testing circuit including inclement weather, curves banked at 50-degree angles and scaling hills. You get to reach speeds of up to 65 miles per hour as you put you car through the tests, culminating in a high-speed drive around the exterior of the attraction. After each test, check the scoreboard to see how your vehicle performed! My video is on my channel PrettyJulsTravels & Living on YouTube

My daughter's first time at Disney World Epcot. She absolutely enjoyed Test Track. Test Track is located inside Epcot, next to Mission Mars. Disney World has put in-place proper social distancing guidelines for Test Track, with waiting in queue 6 ft apart. Hand sanitizers are located before and after the ride. With all of the new guidelines in-place, Test Track does not allow you to customize your own vehicle. The customization is turned off. Automatic designed vehicles are displayed during your ride through Test Track. Test Track is one of my daughter and I's favorite rides at Epcot. You buckle-up in a 6 seat car. Right now, Disney World is operating one car per family. Once you take off in Test Track, you run through several different simulations test during the ride such as efficiency and responsiveness. It is a dark ride and goes relatively quickly once you are outside. After each test, it will bench mark your vehicle against other vehicles. During the last part of the ride, you'll get to go outside on the test track, at about 65 mph. It's pretty fun! Afterwards, you're presented with a variety of Chevrolet vehicles. Pretty neat!

Epcot (Orlando) FUTURE WORLD EAST We had a FastPass+ for this ride. Twice we had to get in line, the first time they had to stop the ride due to rain especially if there was any chance of lightning. We tried to wait it out but the rain didn't seem to let up. This ride is mostly indoors and maybe not required to close in mild or moderate rainy weather but we experienced sudden extreme downpour and got delayed because the last part of this ride was an outdoor ride. We left the line but they reopened again after the rain stopped and we got in for a second try. Before we began our journey we created our own turbo dream sim car. I don't know anything about creating a car but I did choose the color of my sim-car. At some point while in line we were shown tests performed on the cars and its parts before they were released. The ride is a simulated journey going through extremely thorough testing procedures that GM uses to asses its autos. The best part was the last part... the ride. Test Track reached speeds up to some crazy 65 mph, which was a little scary for a thrill ride but the track had no roller coaster dips or inversions or anything like that. Other than slight banking, it is really concentrated on acceleration and speed. Wheeee! That was fun! At the end of the ride, as we exited, the screens showed us how our car did from the parts we chose. Categories were Power, Responsiveness, Capability and Efficiency. Fun but boo! on the rain... And honestly, my husband made sure my first visit was memorable. It was near my birthday month, and he decided to surprise me with what became an early birthday gift trip to Epcot while he attended a large software conference nearby. The conference itself was completely paid for by the company inviting him, so all he really had to cover was my airfare and incidentals. Clearly I married a man who understands strategic generosity. I suspect he realized it is far easier to justify another technology conference when Disney World is somehow involved for the spouse. Very clever, honestly. One of the biggest highlights of the trip was getting to stay inside a Disney World resort hotel. That alone completely changes the entire experience. Instead of battling traffic, renting cars, or navigating endless parking situations, we could simply hop onto the Disney transportation system and take relaxing ferry rides around the property to wherever we wanted to explore. There was something oddly peaceful about gliding across the water early in the morning while heading toward the parks. It genuinely felt like we had stumbled into some sort of temporary VIP existence. And because my husband was attending the conference, there were all kinds of wonderful little perks throughout the week. One evening there was a private dinner and concert event exclusively for conference attendees and guests, which was such a fun surprise. Then near the end of the trip, we were given access to a reserved roped-off viewing area beside the lagoon for the nighttime fireworks spectacular. That alone felt magical. No fighting crowds. No standing ten people deep trying to see around someone's Mickey ears. Just an incredible unobstructed view of the fireworks reflecting across the water while we relaxed together at the end of a very long and very happy week. As for Epcot itself... First-time visitors should absolutely understand that this park is very different from the classic Disney experience many people expect. Epcot feels more like a celebration of technology, imagination, culture, architecture, and world travel all wrapped into one giant park. The World Showcase was probably one of my favorite parts -- wandering through beautifully themed country pavilions representing places like Japan, France, Italy, Morocco, Norway, and Mexico while sampling food, shopping, architecture, and cultural details from each one. At times it almost felt like taking a tiny whirlwind world tour without ever leaving Florida. And of course, there is Spaceship Earth -- the giant iconic geodesic sphere everyone associates with Epcot. Seeing it in person for the first time honestly made me feel oddly emotional in that nostalgic Disney sort of way. I truly was like a child in a candy store during this trip. I wanted to see everything. Taste everything. Photograph everything. And despite spending an entire week there, I still never managed to see it all. But honestly, that may be part of the magic. By the end of the trip I felt completely happy, thoroughly exhausted, and wonderfully spoiled. My husband gave me an early birthday experience I had wanted for years, and somewhere during those ferry rides, fireworks, and endless wandering through Epcot, I quietly realized another item had officially come off my bucket list. By the time we flew home, I was completely satiated and entirely ready to sleep in my own bed again.

My husband and I first returned in 2021, thinking it would feel similar to when we brought our boys back in 1998... not even close. Technology has completely transformed the experience. Not in a bad way--but if you're not prepared, it can be overwhelming and honestly a little frustrating. After that visit, I knew I needed a better game plan. This time, I booked early--about six months ahead--directly through Walt Disney World and bundled our hotel and park tickets, saving around $1,600. I also spent time watching YouTube vlogs to relearn the park layout and get Park tips, which made everything so much easier. NOTE: Disney is extremely app-driven. I highly recommend pre-purchasing a MagicBand. It acts as your room key, park ticket, Lightning Lane access, and even your credit card. Having everything on your wrist is incredibly convenient. Speaking of time-saving-- we splurged and purchased the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. In 2021, we waited in lines up to two hours and barely got on rides. This time, with the Premier Pass, our waits were typically 5-20 minutes. As a Baby Boomer, I can confidently say--it was absolutely worth the splurge. BTW, there are single rider lines which are complimentary. Another small but "You'll Thank Me Later" tip: cushioned sneaker inserts. You can easily walk 8+ hours a day, and your tootsies will thank you. We visited the week before Easter during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and it was stunning. The flowers and topiaries were incredible, and the outdoor kitchens added a fun (and delicious) touch. Being able to simply tap my MagicBand to pay for food made everything seamless. Bottom line: taking the time to plan ahead completely changed our experience. We rode everything we wanted, avoided long lines, and truly enjoyed the park. If you're heading to EPCOT--go in prepared, and you'll have an amazing time.

Wear walking shoes. If it is spring or summer, bring sun screen. -be prepared for LOTS of people (if they drive like they walk, no wonder the US has such a high vehicular fatality rate). Be patient. -be prepared to overpay for just about everything. But oddly, the $300 per person multi-park ticket is a good deal. Why? Because you get so much entertainment. There are loads of Disney employees everywhere who are friendly and ready to help with any questions. They all are paid, so the $300 is actually not a bad deal when you consider how many employees there are in each park, how clean the parks are, and all the upkeep to maintain the animals and rides. -if you get tired, and you will, take a break. It's not fun if you get so tired that you get cranky. -Don't forget to enjoy the smiles on the kids' faces!

They're always making changes here it seems but it really is a good place to check out. You might not need to be there all day too to do everything so you can take your time or do it all and hop over to a different park.

We saw lots of different animals in the theme park, including lions, giraffes, elephants, flamingos, and tigers! The toddler really loved seeing them and had a great time. There's so much to do at the theme park! There are tons of exhibits, shows, rides, and restaurants to enjoy during a half to full day there. We went on the Animal Safari, Maharaja Jungle Trek, and the Gorilla Falls Exploration, and my toddler absolutely loved all of them! And don't miss The Lion King Show, it was a fantastic show. Apart from Lion King, there is also a show on Nemo which kids will enjoy. Besides the different Safari's and Shows, Animal Kingdom Theme Park also has awesome rides like Avatar Flight of Passage, Na'avi River Journey, and Expedition Everest. This park is great and well-designed. It feels much less rushed, and everyone really enjoys spending time there.

We only live 2.5 hours away so we try and visit Disney at least 4 times a year to get our money worth! One thing we like about passholders we can take our time walking around. What we don't see on this trip we just see on our next one. All the cast members are super friendly and the park is very clean! We also like all the food options. Everything we get has always been really good. We try and mix it up each time we come.

It is nostalgic coming here and a great place to bring kids. Think like an old-school carnival or fair that is here year-round and you are just scratching at the surface. I would definitely recommend here. Go check it out and indulge the inner child within you.

I recently brought two students here for a field trip and we had a good time overall!…read moreWe purchased tickets through Groupon for $62 (regular price is $69 for unlimited rides), which I think is a great deal considering how much they were able to do. I also liked that there's no entry fee for non-riders and you can purchase rides à la carte. I ended up paying $12 for a go-kart ride and LOVED it We got there around 12 PM and it wasn't crowded at all. The lines were super short, so the students were able to ride things 3-4 times with no problem, which made it even more worth it. One of the best deals was the all day dining pass (you have to buy it online). For $24, you get 2 meals and a snack, which is a steal compared to the regular menu prices. Our first stop was Cluckees where we had tenders, wings, and fries. The portions were HUGE and everything was tasty, especially the fries. None of us could even finish our food! For our snack, we grabbed ice cream. The kids loved it, but it wasn't my favorite. Later, we went back to Cluckees for a chicken sandwich and fries for dinner. This time it wasn't as good as earlier. Maybe a different cook or just an off moment. We didn't spend time in the arcade and stayed mostly outside. The park is a pretty decent size with plenty to do. Even as the day went on and traffic picked up, it never felt overly packed. The staff was friendly and very laid back, which added to the relaxed vibe of the day. Overall, it was a good experience. The kids really enjoyed it. I'd give it a 3.5. Btw I think there is a bee problem there. I saw bees flying around often. Not enough to ruin the experience, but I definitely noticed them.
