If you love inversions, check out this coaster as it has seven inversions! Love the theming of being a part of a science experiment. Naturally, we don't react well to gamma radiation and we spiral out of control through the ride. This can cause moments of g force which can be a bit harsh on the body, which ultimately made my dad tapping out on indulging me in getting my coaster fix. One of my favorite coasters of all time. It was my first "big" coaster as a child. So for the purposes if this review we will call me a "Medium" coaster rider. I like roller coasters but wouldn't classify myself as an enthusiast. I can handle this but I can't handle Velocaoster or coasters at say a 6 Flags. They are too much for me. Hulk is a happy medium. I have ridden his many many times so I know what to expect but am still scared getting on because it's a big coaster. ITs a great fist time big coaster for anyone with kids of that age. Tips: -if you have shoes that may come off, take them off and leave to the side. You will not be the only one and they will not give you a pair of. crocks because you lost on of your shoes...no matter how much you think they should You will have to buy a pair of shoes in park at park prices and totoaly un broken in. Trust me, take off your shoes. Yell. Coaster are meant for yelling. It helps with fear. It's a bit bumpy but not painful. Both my husband and I have back problems and we have no issues at all after riding. If you are like me and are a "medium" coaster person or are riding for th forst time (or are riding with a child for the first time) it helps to close my eyes when. I get scared. I know i know... but I don't like to drop so I keep my eyes shut or those times and I have a great time. If you first time rider gets really scared while on it has always helped me when i'm on one that's too much to tense up my body (get as close to a ball as I can) and close my eyes. It gives me more of. a sensce of controle over my body. read more

I didn't ride it when I was here in 2018 and I didn't ride it when I was here in 2024. But I was happy enough to watch other people giving their inner ears a workout. According to guides, there are seven inversions, one zero G roll with corkscrews and a maximum of 67 miles per hour after a proper launch at the start. It looks like lots of fun. Not for me. This coaster is absolutely amazing! Firstly the launch is actually so cool there's lights In the tunnel and the launch gives so much thrills. Second the inversions are so cool man the ride kinda whips you around and you may get dizzy or a headache but just keep your head straight and then you will get it way less. Third, the ride has no airtime so if you are scared of airtime rides like velocicoaster. Don't worry because this ride has positive g forces so you won't feel like falling off. Also this ride at night is even better because there's more lights and scenery. I highly recommend. read more

The Incredible Hulk Coaster opened with Islands of Adventure on May 28, 1999. It is part of the Marvel Superhero Island. It was created by the Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M). The ride was refurbished in 2016 with a new storyline and redesigned ride queue. The new story line features a dangerous scientific experiment being conducted by General Thaddeus Ross. As you wait in line you see test subjects being exposed to gamma rays which transforms them into Hulk like creatures. This used to be one of my favorite rides at Universal. After riding VelociCoaster I insisted we go here to see how they compared. After we put our belongings in the locker we had no trouble walking on the ride through the single rider line. This coaster was the first to use the launch design that Hagrid's Motorbike and VelociCoaster both do so much better. According to the story you are exposed to gamma rays in a tunnel and then the ride take off is supposed to simulate the feeling of being fired out of a cannon. After launch, Hulk propels you along a 3,670 foot long track with seven inversions. After going on VelociCoaster which is so smooth it feels like you are flying, the Hulk is really showing it's age. Rough is the word that comes to mind. My head was snapped back and forth the entire ride and I really regretted wearing earrings that day. The worst was when the ride came to a stop. We were held in place before entering the station for what seemed like forever during which my overhead harness was pressing uncomfortably into my chest. I couldn't get any relief and started to feel panicky. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I held it together long enough to get off the ride but never again. I can't believe they tore down Dueling Dragons but opted to keep this. Hulk is a classic Universal ride but I would rather ride VelociCoaster once than unlimited rides on a coaster which left me feeling like a took a round with the Hulk himself. read more

My least favorite roller coaster in the park! This one hurts my head and neck the most of all. I just find it way too rough to really enjoy. Especially once you've been on Velococoaster it's hard to go back to the older style thrill coasters here at Universals. This is the only ride that while it is fun, it just hurts too much, so I will always opt to skip it after one too many bad experiences. read more

Definitely my favorite non-HP coaster at Universal (of what we were able to ride when visited last month)! The wait was reasonable, and the ride was tons of fun. It was smooth and exciting. I love that 0 to super fast start! It definitely got me to giggle a little bit! FYI This is one of those rides where you can't have your phone on your even in a zipped pocket (you will go through metal detectors), so they'll need to go a in a locker or stay with someone not riding the ride. This is a roller coaster, not a theme ride. It os very fast and will got upside down. There is a point with some mist, but don't expect to see much theme detail on the ride itself. All of the theme and detail is present during the line to get on. I do not have any interior pictures as you have to put everything into a locker before you're allowed into the line. Luckily the lockers are free. You'll need either a paper version of your park ticket or a paper locker rental ticket since you can't bring your phone on the ride. Even fanny packs aren't allowed on. read more

If you are anything of a roller coaster junkie then riding the Hulk is a must. This is a high intensity, loop-de-loop wild ride. And unpopular opinion, but I just don't enjoy this one quite as much, and I am most definitely a roller coaster freak. I used to be absolutely obsessed with the Hulk. I would ride it over and over and over. We'd go on, ride, then run right back in line and do it again. And I'd do that probably for at least 5 or 6 times a whack. But then, one summer a few years ago they shut the Hulk down for maintenance or something, so no one could ride it for quite a span of time. I remember being so disappointed because it had been my favorite ride. Once it opened back up I was elated. Maybe it's just me, but after they closed the ride for that time I feel it was a lot different after it re-opened. To me, the Hulk is so much rougher now, which is part of why I don't like it as much. When I ride it, I have to focus the entire time on keeping my shoulders and head back, and my neck straight, or else my head will hit the sides of the seat constantly because it's so bumpy and rough. And it's not fun to do that- I want to be able to just ride and enjoy it, not worry about wrecking my ears or giving myself a headache. The Hulk also goes upside down at least 6 times. Half of the ride is loops, and it's easily more than any other ride in both parks. The overall effect between that and how rough it is makes me very easily motion sick, and I don't get motion sick. I'm a roller coaster junkie and I love any theme park, so for one to make me feel physically ill and queasy, well it must really be a rough one. Even with all this I still desperately want to like the Hulk ride and try to go on it occasionally and change my mind. It hasn't worked yet, but I'm pretty stubborn. I'll also say, the beginning of this ride is super epic. You get shot through the tunnel into the highest point and it is a feeling like no other, slowing gaining altitude just to suddenly accelerate so fast your face stretches out. My advice with the Hulk: if you love roller coasters you need to try this, but if you're at all sensitive to rough rides think twice. This is a very, very intense ride. This is one of my favorite roller coasters. There is no messing around with this one. It gets right into it and launches you up the hill. Prior to getting on the roller coaster they have you empty your pockets. You can use the free lockers that are located across from the coaster. You just have to use your park admission ticket to work the lockers. Somewhere along the line they have you go through a magnetometer and hand wand to make sure that you did not try to slip a phone in or anything. The queue had an estimation of 1 hour, but we made it through the line in 30 minutes. If you are a single rider, you can make out and move through the single rider line much quicker. They also have the kid handoff section for people with kids too little or too small to ride the coaster where one can ride while the other one waits with the kids and then once the ride is over, they swap. This roller coaster is a bit older, opening in 1999, but has underwent a few upgrades along the way. It is very clean and well maintained. It has a max speed of 67 MPH and riders experience 4G. The coaster is 110 feet high, with 7 inversions, and accelerates from 0 to 40 mph in 2 seconds. You also go underground for a bit on the coaster. This is one of the coasters with a photo op located along the track and you can look at and buy the photos after you get off of the ride. The Hulk is the poster child of Islands of Adventure. It has been there for over 20 years. I love this coaster and my trip to islands of adventure is not complete unless I ride this ride. I highly recommend checking this ride out during your visit to the park. You will not be disappointed. read more

I rode The Incredible Hulk Coaster 42 times in a row, all in the same day! True story, I spent nearly an entire day entering through the single-rider line and as soon as I got off this coaster, I rushed right back in line and rode it again. Over and over. Forty-two times. Now let me warn you: If you choose to do this, your body's equilibrium may be thrown completely out of whack for the following few weeks or so. In fact, you may find yourself walking around like some sort of drunk or something. At least that's what's happened to me. I've been just so off-balance ever since that day, as if the coaster itself has been embedded somehow into my core! I've been back home for weeks now, but it's been as if I'm still riding this beast anytime I get up and move! This feeling seems to be fading a bit now, but frankly, I'm not so sure because every time I think about riding The Hulk again I immediately start to get dizzy as all getout... Anyway, enough of all that negative mumbo-jumbo, this coaster is one of the best and definitely in the top three of my all-time favorites, so do yourself the justice of riding it at least once! read more

Honestly one of the greatest coasters in Florida in my opinion. A few years ago they over hauled it literally tearing it apart and then starting from the ground up so they could update the track and make it run smoother. Everything about this ride is phenomenal from the theme to The Story, yes a roller coaster that has a story, insane right! During this pandemic that is going on right now the roller coaster spacing amazing when it comes to the social distance thing, with stickers on the floor every 6 feet so you are making sure that you were not near people. They are also leaving Gap rows on the actual right itself so you are not close to people. The ride itself is rather long and begins with a launch lift that sends you straight Head Over Heels. It's not as smoot a ride- but I do love the high speed launch it starts with! First opened in 1999, it was updated in 2016, this coaster goes from 0 to 40 mph in 2 seconds before hurtling you over the first hill. Max speeds are 67 mph as you rush through The 3,670-foot-long ride features seven inversions including a zero-G roll, a cobra roll, two vertical loops, and two corkscrews. I have loved rollercoasters since I was finally tall enough to ride one as a kid and continue to love the adrenaline rush. The coaster itself was a fun ride- the wait in line- inside is not air conditioned and they really need a lot more fans. It was a 50 minute wait and pretty miserable since it reached 94 degrees outside. Inside it was stagnant except for the very few fans. I hope they will look into adding more circulation. It was cooler outside because of the breeze. Tip- make sure EVERYTHING is out of your pockets- as you will go through a metal detector. AND If you have a lanyard to hold your Passcard- make sure it is a zippered pouch. I know someone who lost their Pass, ID and CC from the sleeve of the lanyard because it didn't have a closure at the top- on a roller coaster here. read more

Universal's Island of Adventure (Florida) MARVEL SUPER HERO ISLAND pavilion Now this is a roller coaster!! This is one of the more popular thrill rides in the Universal Orlando Resort theme park. Although the thrill is amazingly fun there were two more crazy rolls and another loop following an upside down moment. The ride had a total of six or seven upside-down experiences (I lost count, could've been 8, I dunno, but you get the hint, it was a lot) that included a 110 foot cobra roll. The experience lasted just a little more than 2 minutes! OMG! At the end of the ride I was as green as the Hulk. Not so incredible feeling for me :( Lock them up! There's a reason why those lockers are there. Store your loose articles in the free lockers across the walkway from the attraction's entrance (next to Cafe 4) 'coz if you don't one of those upside down loops will get you. Okay, now you know... this is a must ride attraction... even if you get sick. LoL! Find this ride in the Marvel Super Hero pavilion at Universal's Islands of Adventure side of the resort. This ride is located in Islands of Adventure and you can see if from afar given its bright green! The initial push of this coaster is FAST and kicks you back in your seat. Great ride!! They did a major refurbishment of the coaster in 2015-2016 where they updated the line queue and added new sections of track, and new trains. The ride is smoother now and oh so much fun. Twists, turns, 110 feet high and top speed up to 67 mph. Based on the Incredible Hulk comics and movies, a blast of gamma radiation is what launches the coaster. It's a sitting coaster where you are strapped in tight but I will admit I screamed with glee the whole ride! If you are a roller coaster fan definitely jump on the hulk. I was by myself so they have single ruder which only took 10 minutes to get on where the actual queue was 45 minutes. read more

By far my favorite rollercoaster and that's saying something because I'm not much of a rollercoaster person. Hulk is located in Islands of Adventure. I never had to wait too long to ride this. The lines moved by quickly when I was there. I've ridden it with and without a fast pass. I had to have a few drinks before I got on one. I don't like heights! This was the first coaster I rode on to warm me up for the other ones in the parks. This ride was super smooth and comfy. I love that it shoots you right out; Hulk roars when he does this. So many twists, turns, and inversions! One of the drops puts you under a tunnel with steam. The coaster is green, you can't miss it. I could definitely ride this over and over again! This was an incredible ride! Some things I DID not know that sucked up my time in line. 1. You have to leave anything metal (cell phone, keys) in a free locker. They make you go through a metal detector. I imagine it's a safety hazard to have a cell phone fly out of someone's pocket and potentially hit a pedestrian. 2. After going through the metal detector the single rider line is to the left (I got in the wrong line) Once seated you mosey along up the hill and then out of no where you are catapulted and OMG the fun doesn't end. I have been to Kingda ka in six flags new jersey ( that too front seat )so i guess i am totally cool with any roller caoster ride int he world. first of all- you need to stow away all your belongings in provided locker. Locker is free and it is in sync with your waiting time till you come back so dont worry ;) You won't be able to go through and you will basically be denied unless all belongings are in. Line to ride this coaster was long but moved really fast. While waiting in line you are taken into Dr. Bruce Banner's laboratory, and big screen TV's are telling the story of The Hulk. Every successful roller coaster has an exceptional theme, a fear factor, and a great overall experience. like other rides , this rides too based on comic book series. The launch tube was really cool, lit up nicely and then about 3/4 of the way up you get shot out and go from 3 to 90mph and are immediately inverted when you exit the tube to a load Hulk roooooooar. It's roars can be heard outside the park - literally the Hulk does this booming bellow I heard from a walking path down the street. The green coaster shoots up and keeps you going at high speeds of 67mph through loops and dives and side swirls in this 90 second ride. The Incredible Hulk is the perfect rollercoaster because it lives up to the important criteria that a roller coaster should offer. People of all ages over 54 inches tall can enjoy this ride. The queue isn't great but I loved watching the screens. Sitting in the comfy seats and waiting to blast off is extremely thrilling the twists, turns, and inversions make an incredible experience. It's rough though, like it makes you feel like a rag doll (not as much as rip ride rocket, but it's not very smooth) the dive into the mist is always a surprise. This coaster is awesome and a definite must but I still think the Velocicoaster surpasses it by far. Wait time was about 45 minutes at about 10:30 am; and I think I got a small bump as a solo rider. The Incredible Hulk Coaster is without a doubt one of the most fun and thrilling rides in the Marvel area, let alone the entire park of Island of Adventure. Whenever I came to Universal, I always had to go to both parks just so I wouldn't miss out on this awesome coaster. There are lockers right next door to this coaster, where you can store all of your stuff for about an hour for free while riding. Yeah, the lines do get long, but if I remember correctly they do have a single rider line, and of course their own version of fast passes. This coaster is "hanging style" and goes incredibly fast the entire ride. It is definitely one for the thrill seekers and not so much for the feint of heart! Also, while waiting in line you will go through areas that represent places from the Incredible Hulk series that may look familiar. Thrilling Ride! I am not a roller coaster fanatic; however, this was worth the wait in line. I must admit that I did look for exit areas up near the loading area. I wasn't sure I could handle the twists and loops. And the launch! Oh the launch! My husband and I did choose to wait the extra fifteen minutes in line to be in the front row, as it was something he wanted to do. The dips down by the water were incredible. Cons: Lockers for personal items are free; however, because we had e-tickets we needed to see an attendant for assistance. Also: when you get to the front of the line, if you have your cell phone in your pocket, you will have to leave to place it in a locker. Good news:staff will let you back in. It's just a hassle. It's better than having cell phones falling out of people's pockets though! read more

When I was younger I was so scared to go on this ride, I always said: "I have to go to the restroom" to avoid getting on. My coaster scare is done (I still hate really long drops though) and I finally went on it, and it was amazing. And to give you an idea how many years this was, this was back when the Fast and Furious Hulk vehicle was parked outside of the ride. This coaster is non-stop fun from start to finish. You never have a dull moment or any "slow pace" parts. The only issue I have are the lockers. If you come during busy hours you can lose your spot in line and that could lead to longer wait times. read more
