March 2026 This ride was so much fun!!! I truly felt immersed in DK & Diddy Kong's world!

Mine Cart Madness in Donkey Kong Country is so much fun! It's a family-friendly ride, great for all ages, & is a "boom" coaster that simulates the feeling of the mine cart jumping over gaps in the track. The wait for this ride was honestly pretty long (1 hour),compared to all the other rides we hit earlier in the day. We saved this for last hoping the wait time would drop throughout the day, since the wait was long all day. I think this ride is worth the wait! Although it's a family friendly ride, it's super exhilarating from beginning to end. Definitely make sure to have time to hit this ride if you're planning a day to go to Epic ;)

Mine cart madness! Love that it's an actual themed coaster that makes me feel like I'm right back in my bedroom playing DK country for the first time on the SNES! Well worth it, probably the best ride in Nintendo world tbh. That's just my opinion. We saved this for last, the other DK ride where you shoot shells is a cool theme VR style. But it's not the experience I expected! This ride exceeded expectations and i think everyone left with a grin on their face. By no means is this a crazy drop inversion type ride, but it's quick fun and the theme music pairs well!

Yes, there was a long wait! Was it totally worth it? Yes!!! I had so much fun on this ride! Mine Cart Madness is located at Universal Epic Universe in Orlando Florida. It's within the Super Nintendo World, but a sub section called Donkey Kong Country. I grew up playing the Donkey Kong games. My favorite was Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 on the Super Nintendo Console. When I heard that Universal was making a Donkey Kong Section for Epic Universe, I was so excited! While I was down in Orlando Florida in October, I ended up buying a single day ticket for Epic Universe. Mine Cart Madness is a new roller coaster attraction themed to the classic video game! The ride immerses you in the world of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. The mission, to protect the golden banana! The ride vehicle looks like it's barreling through mine cart tracks and then jumping across gaps in the rails. It really felt like a video game level from one of the mine cart levels in the Donkey Kong game! While I was riding, you couldn't really see a track. It was hidden. It felt like in the jump sections you were really flying across in the mine cart. It's a four person style cart with two rows of two. During the ride, you'll pass through indoor scenes with vibrant theme and outside sections including a splashdown moment! This ride is quite unique! It features a lift that transitions into a launch, drops, and the jumping illusion of broken rail segments! This is one of the more popular attractions in the park. I did single rider line and it was about a 60 minute wait time. The best seating positions are front left or back left! Luckily the ride queue is mostly indoors and covered, not fully air conditioned though. I'd recommend trying to go on this ride early in the day or later in the evening. Weather does impact this ride as well! This is a must do ride if you're visiting Epic Universe for the first time. I just had to go on this ride because I'm a big fan of the Donkey Kong video games!

Mine Cart Madness is located in the Donkey Kong area of the Nintendo portal in Epic Universe. This is one of the more popular rides in the park, usually having a pretty long wait. This is also a roller coaster. This attraction is actually located all the way in the back of the portal, you can actually see part of it from the parking lot. This was one of the more highly talked about attractions due to the track being below you and making you feel as though you are jumping the track. If this is on your list of must do's I would head here first or get in line right before the park closes. This line gets really long. When my wife and I went, the wait was over an hour. Luckily for us, we had a disability pass for my wife, which allowed us to get a return time and sit inside until our time was called as opposed to standing in the regular line. For us this was really nice as I would not wait an hour for this ride. This ride is fun but it is extremely SHORT! My best guess would be about 45 seconds maybe 60 seconds at most. By the time we were really having fun it was over. There was hardly enough time to know what was happening. It is also very loud inside with the Donkey Kong music playing over and over again throughout the whole line. The vehicles hold 4, 2 in each row, with a lap bar. They are constantly moving so you have to step onto a moving platform and then into your car. There did seem to be a lot of leg room actually. I was a little nervous for my wife since her legs are long and she sometimes has issues on these rides but she was totally fine, with even having a little extra space. There are test seats outside if you need to do a check before getting up to the front. There are no pouches or places to put your things, so we had to hold our bags and Universal refill cup, which was very difficult especially on a roller coaster. I thought they could at least have a pocket to put hats and sunglasses and stuff. The ride makes you feel as though you are going to fall off the track and then all of a sudden you jump to the new track. It is so unique and one of a kind how they make this happen. I personally have never seen a ride like this before. Because the ride was jerky and bumpy, my back and my wife's back really hurt after the ride. There are lots of twists and turns, sharp jerks and again very bumpy. I do think if you get motion sickness you might not feel so great after. I recommend Dramamine, which is what my wife took who suffers from motion sickness, and it really worked for her. Overall this is a fun ride, I don't know if I would try and ride every visit, but I am very glad we got to go one it at least once. I'm sure if we went again we would see more and maybe enjoy it more. We were so excited to just be going on it, I'm sure we missed a ton. The ride is loud, the lines are long and the ride is short. However, the experience of jumping the track is incredibly cool and something I have never seen before. My recommendation would be to check the wait, if it's 30-40 minutes wait time, get in line and wait , but don't wait longer than that. Great job Universal on another attraction. Aces!

Mine Cart Madness is located in the Donkey Kong area of the Nintendo portal in Epic Universe. It is one of the more popular rides in the park and is a roller coaster. This attraction is very far in the back and the line can get really long so if this is on your list I would highly recommend heading here first. This was one of the more highly talked about attractions. The reason for this is because the track is below you and you feel as though at times you are jumping the track. It makes you feel as though you are in the video game! To start this line can get really long. When we went the wait was over an hour, but we luckily had an express pass. I have to say, I personally would not wait an hour for this ride. The ride is SHORT! I would say 45 seconds maybe 60 seconds at most. By the time you were really having fun it was over. There was hardly enough time to know what was happening. I actually felt bad walking past all the people standing in line. It also very loud inside with the Donkey Kong music playing over and over again. The vehicles are constantly moving so you have to step onto a moving platform and then into your car. It holds 4 per vehicle, 2 in each row. There did seem to be a lot of leg room actually. There is also a lap bar. I was a little nervous since my legs are long and I sometimes have issues on these rides but I had no problems. There are test seats outside if you need to check. There are no pouches or places to put your things, so we kind of had to hold our bags and Universal refill cup, which I didn't really like. A pouch to put everything in would have been nice. The ride itself is really cute. You really do feel as though you are going to fall off the track and then all of a sudden you jump to the new track. It is so cool how they do it. I will say because of this, my back hurt after. It is very bumpy, with lots of twists and turns, sharp jerks and such. My back was sore after, I was so happy I wasn't sick as well. I do think if you get motion sickness you might not feel so great after. I recommend Dramamine, which is what I took. Overall this is a cute ride. I don't know if I would personally ride it every single time I visit but I am glad we got to try it. Its loud, its long lines and short ride. But the experience of jumping the track is incredibly cool and something I have never ridden before. I would say check the wait, if it's 30-40 minutes, wait for it but don't wait longer than that unless you really want to ride.

But what about low-key story-based rides for people more on my page of wanting a chiller experience? I also liked that there's no entry fee for non-riders and you can purchase rides à la carte. I ended up paying $12 for a go-kart ride and LOVED it We got there around 12 PM and it wasn't crowded at all. The lines were super short, so the students were able to ride things 3-4 times with no problem, which made it even more worth it. One of the best deals was the all day dining pass (you have to buy it online). For $24, you get 2 meals and a snack, which is a steal compared to the regular menu prices. Our first stop was Cluckees where we had tenders, wings, and fries. The portions were HUGE and everything was tasty, especially the fries. None of us could even finish our food! For our snack, we grabbed ice cream. The kids loved it, but it wasn't my favorite. Later, we went back to Cluckees for a chicken sandwich and fries for dinner. This time it wasn't as good as earlier. Maybe a different cook or just an off moment. We didn't spend time in the arcade and stayed mostly outside. The park is a pretty decent size with plenty to do. Even as the day went on and traffic picked up, it never felt overly packed. The staff was friendly and very laid back, which added to the relaxed vibe of the day. Overall, it was a good experience. The kids really enjoyed it. I'd give it a 3.5. Btw I think there is a bee problem there. I saw bees flying around often. Not enough to ruin the experience, but I definitely noticed them.

We had a beautiful day to visit and smiled throughout the day. Some of our best moments were walking through the various city streets and seeing musical performances and dancing. The walkways were wide and we were never on top of other guests. Most rides had reasonable wait times and/or offered single rider options. The locker areas for cramped, but I appreciated how many of the wait queues were indoors, keeping us cooler and away from the rain. The Harry Potter sections were amazing, just amazing. I couldn't have imagined how it would have felt being in the middle of the space. Restaurants, both sit down and quick service, were scattered throughout the park. I loved that we didn't have to worry plan in advance to get a spot at either. My only downside to Universal Studios is that some of the themes felt outdated or just aren't favorite characters of mine. At least this helped to decrease the temptation of spending money on apparel or merchandise.

(I haven't seen a single one of those movies either!) I'm much more a fan of roller coasters than motion simulators so I like Islands of Adventure a good deal more than USF. I also like the theming more, apart from the Springfield area and Diagon Alley. The whole studio backlot/cityscape isn't as interesting to me. It's still a pleasant looking park though. The layout seems more confusing than IOA which is really straightforward and simple. Maybe part of it is this was my maiden voyage to USF while I'd been to IOA once before but there's just more nooks and crannies here. I've done reviews for most of the major rides and Diagon Alley. Simpsons and Transformers are elite, E.T. is a wonderful blast of nostalgia and weirdness we must protect at all costs, Escape from Gringotts is way overrated even if the queue theming and preshow is superb, I got no love for Jimmy Fallon or his stupid ride, the indoor Mummy coaster is surprisingly good still leaves this park's coaster lineup lagging way behind its neighbors, Men in Black is okay but not worth waiting in a long line for and the Minions shooter game was a quick diversion I never even bothered to do a review for. I'm just seeing we missed another Minions ride, a motion simulator. It was such a whirlwind of queues with almost no wait I guess it was easy to miss one. The Blues Brothers musical revue was an absolute blast with an awesome setting. And the Mardi Gras parade wrapped itself around the city streets around the diner where my sister and I ate dinner with us looking out the window and had parade to spare both before and after our meal! It went on for over half an hour. Universal didn't chintz out on that at all. Cast members, floats and flying beads aplenty. There were more shows, too, with stuff like behind the scenes on how Hollywood does makeup, stuff like that. We skipped these but stuff like this is why I wish I'd gotten my parents to this park before they passed. They'd have loved stuff like that, the Blues Brothers and the Hogwarts express. They seemed to like Islands of Adventure okay but I think they'd have liked this park considerably more. The theming, too, I think they'd have enjoyed more. This park closed a couple hours early on the weekday we visited, booked by some high rollers for a private event so we ended our day where we started at Islands of Adventure. And though I like that park more, with a Fast and Furious coaster on the way to USF I think I'd be more eager to return here and ride that and spend more time exploring and soaking in the vibes at this park.

The Knight Bus was fun enough for both my sister and I to get pictures by it with its friendly steward and his appropriate accent. I missed the low key entrance on our first go round. As I said I watched the movies in a cloud of smoke and didn't realize it was this secret fandom entrance/exit but the throngs passing through tipped us off. The greater density with everything packed so tightly together and its separation from the other themed areas of Universal Studios Florida makes this Potter themed area more impressive than its counterpart over at Islands of Adventure- even without a magnificent castle. The alleys, the shops, the hand painted signage, the dragon perched high shooting out that massive flame... I can only imagine how hard this hits if you're a Potter fanatic. And though Escape from Gringotts was pretty weak sauce in my estimation the queue and the theming before the ride experience was top notch.
