Super cute spot! Love that it's queer owned! They host a variety of shows, like battling pianos, performances, and the one I happed to go to: burlesque! Was great energy and the layout was very close in but still felt like there was plenty of room. The lighting was beautiful and the drinks were gorgeous and made very quickly. Loved how on it the staff were. Great sound system in there too. The menu was cool, lots of fun creations with fun names. Parking is a lil rough, circled a couple times before I got something and of course the costs are up. But it's a cool spot to hang out in.

I came to Silver Lining for a burlesque show and dueling pianos! I loved both events. The drinks were delicious and promptly served. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. I like that it has open seating. It allows you to meet new people, especially during events.

I was here for a comedy night. It was really nice, great chill vibe if you are looking for something to do on a week night.

Such a fun place!! Party of 8 for the Friday night piano bar. Had reservations and sat at the bar. Cocktails were served and music was played! We also received complimentary Jell-O shots! There are QR codes to venmo the piano player to make song requests...this won't guarantee your song will be played...but all of my requests were! Will absolutely be back and look forward to other events! Highly recommend!

We checked out this cute little piano bar while pregaming before dinner and a concert last night! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the bartender on duty, William. We ordered The Die Hard Old Fashioned, Anchor + Tree Carajillo and a few beers. I love a good espresso martini and the Carajillo was better than any I've had. It was made with tequila instead of vodka and it was so smooth and it's even made with the coffee from their business neighbor! I could have had 4 of these - they were that good! We didn't try any of their food, but the menu looked and sounded delicious - especially their hot dog! They have live music and a band was setting up when we were leaving! It seems like a pretty busy spot and I'm glad we stopped in to check them out. I'll definitely be in again for that Carajillo!

    Don't underestimate this place.

Fantastic hidden gem. William the owner is great and so are to voter two bar tenders we met. I'm only in Sacramento 2-3 times a yea but every time I am, I come here.

    Good times. Thanks SL

I remember from the video they said this was considered a "bartenders bar",the kind of spot that that bartenders and workers in the industry would hangout after their shifts-I liked the sound of that. Walking up to where I thought the bar was located,it was kinda funny because it was just an innocent looking blue door with the words "Cocktail" along the side-doesn't look like much at all,I'd imagine I've walked by this place many times without thinking of ever going in-that was changing this time. When I walked in I 100% knew I was stumbling upon something special-it was a tiny place but it was overflowing with energy, not many booths in this bar and it may be the smallest bar I've ever been to but it felt special.Looking at the clientele I felt like I was with my people,it was so cool in there. This is the kind of place I would take my wife and any of my friends before a special night out and be it a dinner or a concert or a production at Safe Performing Arts Center and feel like it would set the right vibe for the night. Looking over the menu, they had some very interesting looking drinks, the wife went with a French 75($12.00)and I went with a Pecan Brown Sugar Old Fashioned($16.00)The bartenders are very friendly and super personable and really took their time and took pride in their drinks-I had never had an Old Fashioned quite like that one,but it went down super smooth-I loved i-I look forward to going there again asap. A coupe of things about this bar-they do only have 1 unisex bathroom,it was very clean. Also this place is so old school that they are a "Cash-Only " bar. They do have an atm in the bar in case you forget your cash. They have a big fish tank behind the bar that really put the room together nicely-I liked it a lot. In closing,if you ever find yourself in the Ice Blocks part of midtown and want to experience an awesome bar that feels very unique-head on down to Frank and have a drink or two-you won't regret it-I think I may have found my new favorite bar in all of Sacramento. PS-I loved talking to the bartender telling me how they don't carry Don Julio but have many varieties of Fortaleza instead-a true IYKYK moment if there ever was one-this place rocks.

They have a great selection of gin, rum, champagne, and whiskey, and I often lean on the staff for drink suggestions because they're really good at recommending something you might not normally order. A few times now they've pointed me toward a drink that ended up being a hidden gem. When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

To start, it was the kentucky derby, so we started with some mint juleps. Man, it was just straight bourbon. There wasn't any flavor to the drink and it really didn't sit well with my stomach, so it wasn't a great start. The loco moco and musubi plate were solid. Honestly, great umami flavors from the filipino / hawaiian heritages, but I felt the proportions to be small and wasn't fully satisfied at the end. At the end of a meal like that, I prefer to be completely satiated and I always kind of leave this place wanting, which is my biggest critique. The crab rangoon was solid, and probably the highlight for me. In the end, this can be a 4 star place considering the vibe. It has a cool patio and the inside bar is dope. There a few TVs to view sports. It can be a great brunch spot honestly. However, I want to bring it down a notch bc of personal food experience. I still would come back. Regarding the service, you order at the bar. Everyone is very nice. It can take a minute. If you have a squad, I would have someone on seat duty, because it can get packed.
